I'm a long time runner and started doing crossfit/HIIT this week. My trainer looked at my worn out Brooks and told me I needed a zero lift shoe. I had never heard of that and thought it sounded gimmicky. I went to my local running shoe store and tried a pair of the Escalantes and had a life changing moment! Where have these shoes been all of my life?? My left 5th toe has been smashed up for years and I've never found a shoe with a wide enough toe box. I worked out today and they made a huge difference with my training. LOVE them!! I'll take them out for a run this week. Please don't ever stop making these shoes!

As a former barefoot/Vibram trail runner, I thought I'd have to drive out of the city to run once I moved to the concrete jungle. I was SO WRONG! These shoes take the best principles of natural low-impact running and cushion it just enough for the road. I feel as good as I ever did running barefoot, and my form hasn't had to change much (if at all)! I never feel that tell-tale joint pain from the pavement, and they look great to boot! I don't see myself ever running in another shoe.

I've injured my feet by running multiple half marathons and one marathon. The miles have taken there toll!! Just when I thought I was done, I found the Escalante! There was a transition time, but I will never run in another sneaker. My hip and foot pain is gone. I'm on my third pair and second year!! Currently training for a marathon. Love them!!

Hands down this is my all time favorite road shoe. It feels like your running on comfy clouds. Fits to size. The Esclantes are what got me my Boston Qualification. If you love comfort I promise you will love these.

Altra shoes are the only shoes I will ever own from here on out!! I have wide feet and have always had issues with my feet hurting from being compressed in shoes after an OCR, Trailrace or Roadrace until I found these!! They are a lifesaver and I no longer have any foot pain when I race :)

These have actually been my first pair of Altra road shoes, as I have mainly been running trails the past few years and have used the Superiors, Lone Peaks, and Timps. The Escalante 1.5s are light, flexible, and super comfortable! I have been using them for my road runs and will definitely be using them for my upcoming road half marathon! Highly recommend!

I have very sensitive feet and have tried many different models of Altra shoes. My old favorites were the Intuitions, but I found the newest model not quite right. None of the trail shoes work for my feet either. This shoe, however, is amazing. It is a definite upgrade from the Escalante 1.0, with added lateral support and a more secure overall feel. It doesn't sacrifice any comfort or lightness. While I wasn't able to wear the Escalante 1.0 on trails, the 1.5 I have been hiking in for months through all kinds of terrain. It's been so great for me. I do wear it without the insoles as I find the fit better that way. Another huge plus for these shoes is the colorways. I'm so happy to be able to buy simple black and white shoes and nothing too crazy. My shoes get very muddy and the black is great. On other Altra models, often I am not able to find a simple color way that appeals to me. Overall I hope this shoe will continued to be offered for a long time.

I previously purchased the blue - i am a fan of dark soles & the matching of the blue is perfect. I just finished buying the black on black & am looking to see when they will have the tokyo version in my size. I am not a runner, but at work I am usually standing or walking. In the evenings i walk & i am in love with the escalante racer.

I'm shopping for my third pair now. Wonderful, comfortable, no blisters, no nothing. Just best shoe for a neutral runner like myself. I am a mid-distance runner. I love a 10K. I will soon train for a half. I refuse to wear any other shoe.

Just got back into running postpartum and major feet changes. Wow, I don't remember any shoe feeling this comfortable. Great grip and good cushion for the entire run. Looking forward to my next run!

Ran my first marathon at age 63 in the previous Escalante (4:32:46). When it was updated as the 1.5, I was concerned that it wouldn't be as good. Well, it's even better!! Similar fit and feel, nicer fabric and I love the longer laces! Nicely done!!

Altra, you did it again, nice shoe- love them! & super comfy! - wear them every time I'm out there - short and long runs. I did the all black color- love the simplicity of them- plain black - what i was looking for. I do own the Boston 2018 - love them too, Lone Peaks -save those when it is raining or off road runs. I love them all.. keep making excellent shoes
