Columbia has been picking up the shoe game. I have found myself ordering 5 or so pairs from every kind of manufacturer and almost always end up keeping a Columbia pair. These shoes have excellent ankle support and are tough with some retained flexibility. Love these and will likely buy another backup pair soon.

I was injured 3 years ago and lost about 60% of the feeling and function of my right leg. I was an avid trail runner before this. I am limited to walking with a cane on fairly easy trails now. I was looking for a shoe that would not only keep my feet warm and dry but give adequate ankle support. This boot really delivered! I suffer from high levels of nerve pain in both feet and these boots don't fatigue my feet or rub in any uncomfortable ways. Have trekked through small puddles and lots of wet grass in temps of 30 to 70 degrees and they have kept my feet warm and dry but not too hot. Sizing seems to be right on. I'm somewhere between a 9 and 10 in most shoes and the 9 1/2 is just right. Have only worn with thinner socks but do have room if I needed to go thicker. I have always preferred more minimal type trail runners so was really surprised that these boots didn't feel like big stiff boots even right out of the box. Hope this helps!

I purchased these boots for my upcoming trip to the Grand Canyon. I have the Columbia baseball cap to match. Man these boots fit perfectly. I am a Retired US Army Paratrooper so I know my boots. Keep up the Good Work Columbia.

I have owned two pairs of Newton Ridge, two pairs of Redmond (one mid + one low) and one other mid-hiker that has since been discontinued. As a utility forester, I hike 25 or more miles per week every week in the California coastal mountains. These are the best Columbia boots yet. They are cushioned like running shoes, but grip and support as well as or better than any other hiker I have ever owned. When I wear out this pair (in about 18 months) I will be re-buying these if they are available.

I bought this shoe specifically to hike in and so far I am in love. Great hiking boot with a lot of support around the ankles. I normally wear a size 10 and this fit perfectly with a little bit of room in the toes. I've gone on 3 or 4 hikes and a bunch of walks with my dog and so far I don't see a downside to the boot.

When I'm buying a shoe I want 3 things - comfort, quality and durability. These hiking boots cover all three. Feel great, look great and take a beating - what more could I ask for?

I bought those for my husband as a Christmas's gift. They look really nice. My husband told they fit perfectly, super comfortable. He wears them everywhere he goes.

This is the first time I have a hiking shoe, and I like it a lot. It works really well when I was hiking. Waterproof is awesome! It also works in the snow!

As with any new hiking boot, it feels 'new'. The OutDry material is lightweight and flexible. From the appearance, you would expect the boot to be much heavier. So fit is very comfortable and the weight is much less than expected.

Great waterproof boot. The insoles could be a little more comfortable but over all I like them a lot.

They work great and they're comfortable. I haven't had the chance to take them out to the back country yet as these are not really insulated for the cold. I have worn them around town and they go well with a pair of jeans. I did have a chance to wear them to go shooting outdoors and they held up fine to ankle deep water and mud. I just hosed them off afterwards.

Got these to replace a tried and true pair of hiking boots. The style is great and look awesome with a pair of jeans, I got them in brown. My feet are slightly wide so they did pinch on the outside, so be ready to stretch them out at the side joint of the baby toe. I didn't want to spend weeks breaking them in but once the stretching was done, after 48 hours, jackpot. The cushioning wasn't much but I do usually change out the insoles in my shoes and the best part is the padding around the collar is decent but not so overdone that it presses on the achilles and is irritating. Overall, I'm very pleased with the look, the feel and the purchase and look forward to many years of wear.

Unfortunately I had to return these. While my husband's foot in not typically narrow and he always takes a 10, these were too narrow for him. They didn't come in a wide size to we had to return them. If you have foot that is borderline I would not order these. Try something else or go into the wide shoes.

I recommend this hiking boot for moderate day hikes. Would not recommend for over 10 Miles. They are definitely waterproof, but would not recommend Columbia hiking boots if you're a serious hiker/backpacker.

I got these boots to try on and compare to a few other pairs of boots. Ended up going with The Keen Targhee. These boots are nice, they fit well, look good, and are really lightweight. The sole, however, seems too thin. I could feel the edges of rugs through the sole as i walked around my house. The ankle support doesnt seem to be all there either. They might work well as a trail running shoe, but not so much for long distance backpacking.

They are comfortable, but having worn them a few times I had to wear them in moderate rain while walking across a field with some long grass in it. My socks, around the top of the shoes, were dry. Unfortunately my feet (and the socks) were soaked around the toes. I sent in pictures to Columbia and received a response with some BS about how the grass may have made the rain drops finer so they could have penetrated the membrane. The fact is that the shoes were, and are, not waterproof as advertised. It's a shame as they are comfortable and fine for the hiking I do - just not in the rain. I would be happy to send in the photo again if that would help. Btw - I went out and bought some other Columbia 'trainers' that were also allegedly waterproof. Heavy rain one day disabused me of that notion. Again, it's a shame as I have bought Columbia clothes and jackets before and been very happy.
