I rate these relative to the many other dr. Martens shoes I've owned. I'm usually between sizes 10.5 and 11us. I've been wearing docs for 30 years and always bought the size 11. Sometimes they have felt a little loose but these feel a good half size large to me. I have swapped the leather insole with the dr. Martens soft wair insole and that helps them feel a little more snug. The sizing isn't exactly a complaint, More so an observation, or comparison to my other docs. The sides of the shoe are also taller than most any pair I've ever had as well, tall enough to rub the bottom of my ankle bones a bit. Not anything painful so far and may get better as I break them in more. The quality of leather has certainly changed over the years. These have a finish and feel very similar to a pair of 2976 boots I purchased a year or so ago. Looks almost plastic like to be honest. My 2976s have been great though so I expect these to be similar as the leather breaks in and wears a bit.
Overall I don't believe there is anything wrong with these shoes, they are comfy and look good but still the leather quality or look and sizing aren't as good as what I've been buying for the past 30 years.
