Show is great, however the cushion and support for the heel or arch doesn't really exist. I needed to replace the manufacturers insole to better shock absorption when outside.

The show is nice to walk in as I have PF. The back part of the shoe is flimsy and it feels like it is going to bend and become unconfortable. I'm still deciding if I want to return it. Very expensive. I also ordered oofas and I wear those much much more. The orange I bought looked more mellow on the website- it is obnoxiously bright- I looks like I could lead a parade in the dark!
I might return honestly

I have worn Clifton4 in the past and have been completely satisfied with its support, comfort, lightweight, and durability. They gave me a core balance where my weight didn't go forward on my toes or backward on my heels but straight. Since I do a min of 10,000 steps a day this was helpful in providing me with great cushion and comfort. also eliminated my RLS and hurting feet after a hard day's work. Unfortunately, I did not get the same results with the Torrent, the offered very little cushion and hot spots on the balls of my feet, very different wear resulting in discomfort.

these are great shoes, but the color representation isn’t accurate. I was disappointed as the shoes were not bright like in the photo, but more dullish red than pink.

The comfort is there. Just dissappointed with the color...thought it would be darker...and also that these are not shoes I can wear when it snows or rains. And we have many more of thos days than not here in MN! The size feels larger than it should.

I run 6 days a week and use these only for trail running. They are wonderful and responsive in the months I have had them. The midsole is great and feels supported. The only complaint I have it that along the edge where the waterproof strip is, the mesh rips along that seam. I think it is safe to say this would happen with many shoes, just did not expect to happen with less than 200 miles on them. I am hoping the new version have a better upper.

Nice shoe but wish there was a neutral color or two. Black or grey!?

Was so excited to get my new Hokas! Dissappointed in the Torrent. First thing, there is no loop on the back to help put them on...that's been on all my Hokas! Got these to replace the Hupanas on slushy MN winter days so hopefully my feet stay dry.. The torrent just doesn't have the same comfort as the Hupana or the Arahi. Toebox is wide and that's a plus for me so i will wear them a little more before I decide if they will be returned or not.

Tried to love these, but need more cushioning for me. Might be perfect for others. Great tread.
I love MOST Hokas, and I have, and have had many over the years.

I am still thinking of keeping these or not. Just received them. While I find them appealing & as light as I wanted them, I don't like the fact that you can see pieces of glue all over them. I mean, that's something you can expect from an item paid half this price, but for this price I expect them perfect from stitch to stitch, and immaculate! They should've perfected this before putting them to sale. I've got the pink/poppy ones, and colors do match nicely. I believe they are all they claim to be when it comes to performance, but this glue residue is just bumming me out... you won't see this with Nike (which I desperately want to trade for something new& innovative).. I'll probably return them..

Got to test them thanks to their awesome NorCal rep and LOVED them. Immediately bought them. Very comfortable for my weird feet (super high arch, very narrow heel/center, wide toe box). Feel super light (for trail shoes). Fast on all terrains but very decent grip for technical stuff. I also love that for creek crossing they don't feel like giant and heavy sponges and dry quickly. However, they wear out quickly. I have the latest model. They probably have 80 miles or so on them now; the fabric is already showing significant tear on the side and the sole as well (and I'm 110lbs so not the heaviest out there)

I have always been a Bondi person, but was very unhappy with the Bondi 6, so I decided to try these. I'm on my feet all day at work as a nurse and was very disappointed at how the Torrent provided no comfort, very hard shoe...

Lately every Hoka I've tried has been too narrow in the toebox, but the Torrent looked in the photos like it might be a little wider. I decided to give the Torrent a try, because I really needed a new pair of trail shoes. I have narrow heels, very thin feet overall with a low instep, but a wide forefoot with toes that splay from years of running. Because of my foot type, I have difficulty finding shoes that fit just right. The Torrent fit my narrow heels perfectly, but there was way too much volume through the instep. I changed to a thicker insole to take up some of the volume, but still had to pull the laces very close together to get a snug fit around the arch and instep. The toebox seemed like it was going to be just wide enough to work for me, so I went out for a 5 mile trail run. Everything was going great, but as usual my feet start to swell slightly about halfway through the run, and the toebox became too narrow, causing rubbing on the outside of my big toes. By the time I finished my run, my toes were hurting. I'm very disappointed, because other than the fit, the shoe was exactly what I was looking for.

I would love this shoe but I'm very disappointed with the quality. I've had two pairs now where the upper seam around the ankle started fraying yet they've barely been worn. That area doesn't get rubbed in any way and it still comes apart for no apparent reason. My aunt has a pair that did the same thing. I would not buy again.

Although the midsole looks thick, it actually provides the perfect amount of cushioning for those who like to feel the trail but require more protection. I was able to feel the rocks on the trail beneath my feet, but didn't experience any stabbing or pain. There was enough protection that I was able to focus less on foot placement and more on running. I wouldn't necessarily call the foam responsive, especially compared to other shoes on the market, but it is a crazy fast shoe on trail. If you run on road or don't like to feel the trail, you'll hate these. They are clunky on road.
That said, this is the worst upper I've ever seen in a shoe. It's thick and wide in a way that allows the foot to slip around and create insane amounts of friction. Even with socks, the back of the shoe rubbed my achilles so raw that they started bleeding by mile 3. Despite proper sizing, it doesn't lock down the foot, and I can feel the shoe stay in one place while my foot slides when I step sideways on an incline. There's also so much material around the ankle that it rubs while providing no extra stability. While I usually prefer a wide toe box (a la Altra), the width and inability for the shoe to lock a foot down is an uncomfortable combination. The place where the mesh meets the area of the shoe laces also bends and creates another area for rubbing, and despite the mesh, it doesn't breathe well.
This shoe could be improved immensely by changing the upper to knit or a lighter material that cinches better. It would also help if the heel was flared and if the liner material was softer. The upper adds a lot of weight that makes it feel clunky at times without adding any benefit. As is, the thickness and shape are much better suited to a hiking shoe than a trail runner.

I was disappointed with the first time I purchased this shoe as it was about a half size too big, so I did the whole exchange process Hoka does and got the correct fit. I was finally able to wear them only discover they were not what I was looking for, not enough cushion for my type of feet. Then I was even more upset when I discovered that they were not returnable. Still not sure why. Hmmm.

I tore both meniscus on a 13 mile trail run in these shoes. It was my third run after purchasing. I have run exclusively in Hokas for more than 4 years. The padding has been removed in the forefoot of this style. My knees had no arthritis, no evidence of any previous meniscus damage, I did not fall, slip or trip. I saw two knee surgeons, both agreed that the injury most likely was caused by the shoes. Transition slowly if you are currently running in other Hoka styles if you are going to run in these shoes. I wrote to the company and they provided a canned response that said nothing.
