I used to run in the Asics GT-2000 3 for several years, buying them wherever I could even as Asics upgrading models, which I did not like as much as the 3. Then I stumbled across these, the 1000's, through a Zappos recommendation, and they looked very similar so I decided to try them out. Immediately out of the box they look and even feel great. Good overall fit. The difference between the 1000's and the 2000's however does not become readily apparent until you run, and then you realize that the 1000s are much stiffer and generally have less bounce/cushioning. They are cheaper even price-wise, but after a run in them they also seem to be cheaper quality, and I'm not sure if that's the difference between the two models. Regardless, it's a good looking shoe and might be perfect for someone who's just looking for a work/walking/standing shoe.

This shoes are marketed as 4E. However, they are narrower than my normal with asics.

I confess that I rarely take time to write reviews, but I rely on them quite heavily when making decisons about puchasing shoes! I LOVE these shoes. I am a woman of average build with very wide feet (EE-EEE). I work out at a gym daily and always order men's shoes to get a comfortable width. My New Balance shoes were wearing out and I needed replacements. I could not find my old shoes in my size, so I began reading reviews and chose these. They were a GREAT choice - comfortable out of the box, nice-looking, and kind of bouncy. I wear a women's size 8 (EE-EEE width) and I bought the men's shoe in size 7 (EE width). I am very picky about my workout shoes and would highly recommend these shoes to a female with wide feet.

They are very bouncy/cushioned in the heel, a bit less in the front of the shoe compared to past GT 1000 shoes. Length felt the same although they are slightly narrower than older models. When I put on older models it feels like I have slippers on, these feel like shoes. They do feel better after you walk around in them a bit compared to straight out of the box. I bought same size as before and am still very happy with the shoe as the next in the GT 1000 line.

I've been buying running shoes for 40 years. This shoe is the best fitting shoe I've ever had. Usually I'm a little loose in the heel. Not this time. I don't know what the life of the shoe will be, but considering I only paid half what I usually pay I'm pretty confident I will never have anything bad to say about this shoe.
I'd also recommend:
Always go with Asics

Rubbed on my heel to the point that it wore out a hole in the fabric. Also, not wide like ASICS usually are.

I've only worn them once so far on a 4 mile walk. They were very comfortable and fit as expected. Good cushioning and good arch support. Very light and very good looking shoe.

My husband has really liked these shoes and says they are very comfortable and run true to size. Plus, they are pretty stylish for Asics!

There is a reason I have stuck with the GT-1000 as my go to running shoe for the past several years. It is comfortable, affordable and lightweight. I am flat footed and have plantar fasciitis. This shoe has helped me run and walk with much needed support and without pain.

Great shoe for more casual office places when you can't go *too* casual but want to be a little stealthy about your shoe choice, especially if dress shoes aren't comfy for you. These are comfy for me, fit well, looks good. I bought two pair, and if they keep making the same black on black color scheme in future GT-1000's, I will keep buying them.

I have worn these shoes for years. I am a UPS man who is on my feet 13 hrs a day & these are the best, most comfortable, & durable shoes ever. I walk roughly 18 miles a day & I go through a pair once every 4 months which is 2-3 months longer than any other shoe & it provides superior comfort. Any other review that says otherwise is false & I chuckle reading them. These shoes do the job so I can do mine.

I honestly will not buy any other brand now that my pronation is addressed without going to the Doctor. Preach!

The Gt-1000 series is a great stability/overpronation shoe. It's firm and gives me the support needed. Using older spEVA soles make it more budget friendly.

Comfortable from the first step, these lightweight trainers have plenty of cushion. I use them on my interval, fartlek, and tempo run days. I'l be interested to see how long they hold up. My other shoe is the Nimbus, which has been my go to shoe for several years.

This shoe is horrible, it curls up at the end like and elf shoe , therefore rubbing on your toes , wouldn't recommend this to anybody

I'm not sure if the color combo or the price caught my eye first. Great shoe for general purpose use. True to size and very comfortable.

I bought these on sale a couple weeks ago and they are super comfortable around the yard and at the gym. If I hadn't just got a new pair of Kayano 26 running shoes the week before, I'd probably try running in these.

Shoes are exactly as expected. The pictures do not do just to how cool the green and black look.
