I am an exec who works from home travels through airports and dips off to the pool with a tribe full of kids while nailing down a deal on some piece of tech. This bag...this will get you there. I live off of an iPhoneX and 11" iPad Pro and various lotions, balms, tissues, clippers, knives, cords, cards & headphones...and this bag here. Rocks with all that, straight through the airport, the pool, the car, the park, the club, the night out with wifey...it is a good bag. 'Bout to buy another color unless they send me a code for a free jawn after this review. Because this review here is free $ for them. Thanks Timbuk2 squad, your brand does it right.

I love the blue material on this bag. I haven't seen anything like it around. I love how you can roll it real small or pack a bunch more stuff in it, without feeling all the weight. I'm loving the slingbag experience from Timbuk2 so far. Good quality and my things are safe from weather. I'm currently looking at getting a messenger bag from Timbuk2. Thank you for a really durable and satisfying product.

Comfortable when wore on my shoulder
I have a 32oz water bottle, tabs6 and a windbreaker jacket in it and it still has room

So happy with my purchase! This bag is the perfect weight, color ( grey) and size. The only thing I wish it had was a nonslip material for the strap.

I loved this bag the moment I got it. The side pockets are perfect for me to throw either loose change or some spare tissues. The front zipper pocket holds my old phone and keys. The inside lining gives me all the visibility I need to see my stuff. (I wish my tuck pack was lined this brightly, tbh.) The organization and compartment size in the main section is perfect. Holds all my quick stuff + bus schedules. And on all day events where I still need compact carrying.. it's got enough extendable room. I love the secure clamp straps. I love everything about this bag! The material is conveniently water resistant too. That saved my butt on several surprise rainy days.

I really liked this bag. It's great spin on a traditional messenger bag with lots of functional elements and good quality materials. Ultimately I returned it because it just didn't sit right on my shoulders. It's really proportioned for a man.

Came as advertised and met those expectations! The bag I was looking into getting, this fulfilled my desires. Only draw back is when worn over the left shoulder the buckle isn't as comfortable as it could be. Maybe it could have had 1-3 inches moved down but I prefer to wear a sling over my right shoulder so it doesn't bother me. I have a Timbuk2 computer bag which has lasted me 10 years and this messenger meets that same quality. Highly recommend and bag from Timbuk2.

Put your worries away... just might be the perfect day bag...lays flat so perfect to put in luggage... expandable bigger than I thought but roll the top up and very compact...just the right amount of inner and outside pockets...some people complain about the buckle resting on the shoulder but I don't find it to be a problem...I have several Chrome and other Timbuk2 bags and all are great products but this is my favourite... simply put get one you won't be disappointed.

I used this for carting around stuff if I'm going to be away for the day. My tablet, phone, extra keys, cards/license, charger, battery pack, snacks, water bottle and I can still stuff some shopping in it. Well built, comfortable, decent look and design.

I wore this product to an amusement park and my wife stuffed so much into it that we didn't have to lug around a lot of the extra's. We used it to store our tickets in the smaller pocket, as well as storing out wedding rings on the opposite smaller pocket. This product is nice and compact and was easy to tuck away in a locker while we enjoyed the water park. When we needed our money for food, my wife was easily able to wear it without worrying about getting the things inside wet because of the material it is made out of. Great quality product.

Timbuk2 is a high quality brand, so no worries there. This sling has multiple pockets and a clip, plus two points of entry for convenience. Adjustable strap makes it easy to wear in front or behind, which is nice because toy don't have to remove it to sit down. It's the perfect bag when you don't need to carry a lot of stuff, ie tablet, phone, wallet, etc. Plus with this style it wears close to your body for crowds, but also to keep your items secure from theft.

I was never aware of this product, until I participated in Viewpoints sampling program.
There is so many different compartments for different things, some I personally use use as secret compartments. It fits my IBM THINKPAD. It's made with very high quality material, that is durable and weather proof lining. The straps are super comfortable and adjustable.
This is a must have product. Highly recommended, don't wait, order now, don't walk, run...I guarantee that a sold out item.

I have use this pack when I am running around a new city or going on a day hike in the country side. It is nice to have around the waist so you don't have the load on your back. On hot days this is really nice because your back doesn't get sweaty. Has a lot of nice little pockets to hide away important stuff or quick access to necessities. Really nice that is expands for when you find something in a shop and you don't want to carry around another bag. Also goof for when want to pack an extra layer to keep warm when the sun goes down.

This bag is made of a fantastic material. It is durable quality and has many pockets for practical storage. I have a small baby and in this bag I am able to carry everything that I need for outings with the baby. I highly recommend this back to anyone who likes a light but big capacity bag.

This is a great bag to throw on when you're going on a hike, skiing, or any kind of outdoor activity. The material is sturdy and doesn't show wear, it's also done well in weather elements like rain. There are enough pockets for all of your things, and I feel confident that nothing will fall out throughout the day. Really light weight and comfortable to wear.

I love this sling for daily use. It's the perfect size for the essentials while I'm running around town, and so light that I sometimes forget that I'm even wearing it.

Nice quality as all Timbuk2 products are. No complaints there. It's just the way you wear this thing is ... weird. I should have realized it before I ordered it. It's sort of a cross between a messenger bag and a fanny pack. Worn across your shoulders as they show in the picture just looks odd, as if you've made an error and are wearing it wrong. It doesn't lay flat on your back because the bag is relatively big. Again, quality excellent as always. Just more of a man bag than something flattering for women.

I never bought it, but received it as a gift. This is a really fun and versatile bag. I have only owned one other bag from Timbuk2, and it was the Imformant Camera Slingmy complaint for that was the strap. The Mission Sling has a great strap: thick, quality feel, big buckle. Allows the bag to feel stable. Only thing is that perhaps, a stabilizer or at least an option for one would be nice.
I am able to fit a decent amount of things. I was able to fit a mirrorless camera with an extra lens, 32oz. Hydro Flask, packable rain jacket, power bank, and iPad 9.7" very easily in the bagstill had some room, too.
The easy access zipper on the back is great for removing quick items like a tablet. Anything above 9.7" may prove to be too difficult to remove from this side. The roll top zipper is great, fits a fairly well everything else. The front pocket is handy with quick access items, but it is fairly easy for others to access that pocket as well. The sneak pockets that connect the straps can literally hold coins and maybe a few keys, Switch games, SD cardsnothing big or bulky.
The material feels good. I thought it would be a little thicker, but it feels good. I thought it would be waterproof, it bounces little droplets, but it does not seem to be waterproof. It really would be the cherry on top.
In conclusion, I would buy this for the first time. I got it as a gift, but I would buy it for someone else. I think it will definitely last me awhile.

This bag is awesome but also has some flaws. Wish there was a jet black version. I'm sure the designer thought of this but if you put the bag out of its side clips it could literally turn into a shopping bag but the problem is that there is no shoulder strap. I would definitely pay the extra money for that strap if it was available. Could use a adjustable clip strap to put on each clip. All in all great bag but imagine all the possibilities of this universal day to day bag.

I reviewed this bag about an hour ago and I own more than 11 timbuk2 bags of all different styles and you know the company gives you the stabilizer straps in the bag for certain bags and I always keep them. The mission sling is a great bag as I reviewed earlier but as you see in the picture the two side clips have so much more to offer for this bag to make it even more versatile.
I have used two male stabilizer straps and made it into one single strap. Now I can fill this bag to the top of the zipper. Again I save all my stabilizer straps. Hope this helps you use your bag to it's fullest potential. I store the straps inside the bag and it doesn't take any space up.
Maybe timbuk2 can make a since strap with two male clip adapters? Just an idea.

I like this bag for a couple of reasons: It is super lightweight, so it is perfect for traveling. Either as a carryon or put in a suitcase for day use. The fact that it is super light and lies flat (unlike other messengers) makes it very easy to pack away. It is deceptively versatile in terms of how much it holds. I could fit a fleece jacket, ipad Pro, wallet, eyeglasses case, and a small pouch.
One complaint: The complaint is that the position of the buckle (when worn messenger style) is not very comfortable. It is mostly okay, but I find myself having to adjust it regularly so that it is more comfortable. The rip cord style of the classic messenger bag will be much preferred.
One suggestion: Maybe a water bottle pocket on the outside? I would get a lot of use out of that.

What got me to purchase this item is the style. I got the Driftwood color that was on sale and I LOVE the contrasting inner neon red color in the inside. I also like the roll top look with this small bag.
This sling is spacious! I've been using it to carry my DSLR camera, kindle, wallet, phone, keys, and still have room for a lightweight rain jacket and more. Some organization in the main compartment keeps things orderly, 2 side small pockets for small items, and 1 quick front pocket.
Cons:
- Buckle is in a uncomfortable location. When wearing it on the left shoulder (like how it's modeled on the product page), the buckle pushes against my collar bone. I end up using it over my right shoulder so the bag isn't digging the buckle into my collar and it works out fine. Would be nice if the buckle were in the center or adjustable so it can be used on either shoulder, or have a shoulder pad.
- only soft items in incognito pockets! when putting something in there like a chapstick, it is uncomfortable feeling that item dig into your shoulder when wearing it as a sling.
- Shifts when on the bike. It would have been great to have a low-key, minimal stabilizing strap to keep it from moving. The bag is on the bigger end so a stabilizing strap when carrying a large capacity would be nice.
Aside from those issues, I've enjoyed using the bag for my small minimal carry trips. If the buckle location changes or shoulder pad is added AND a stabilizing strap is added, this can be the perfect sling bag!

I received this bag in exchange for my honest review. I like the idea of a sling bag. But was surprised how lightweight this bag is. It's made of a thin material, and has minimal pockets. I like how the bag looks but it's a little small for daily commute use unless you don't bring a lot with you. It has an extra pocket inside for a small tablet and a couple smaller pockets for miscellaneous items. There's a small zip pocket on the outside for a phone or keys. It also has zipper access to the inside from the back of the bag as well. If you sling it around and don't want to unclip/unroll the top closure access point, you can still access inside items through the back zipper. All-in-all, it's a great bag for going out for a little bit and taking some things with you along with wallet and keys but it's too small to stick folders in and other items you might need for work or school.
