Having size 14W feet makes it hard to find shoes anywhere, let alone shoes that are comfortable AND dark and unadorned for work. Merrel checked all the boxes.
Great pair of shoes, and if merrels usual quality holds true, they'll last a long time.

I LOVE Merrells! I have been wearing the Men's Moab Ventilator (8.5 WIDE) - Black Night, for years. They fit great, wear great.
For some reason Merrell stopped making the Black ones in Wide (PLEASE bring them back - I don't need multi-colored shoes - I must have Black for work, and general good looks)
So I decided to try the 8.5 WIDE size Moab 2 Tactical Shoe.
Just tried them on. They feel 2 sizes too big, and I can wiggle my foot back and forth in them. I love toe room, but you could put an extra toe in here! Just exchanged for a 7.5 Medium Width. Hope those work.
(But Please bring back the Moab Black Night color Wide Widths! - They were perfect.)

If you're a wife size, you better be wayyyyy wide. They were huge. Had to send them back, and am still contemplating reordering the regular width.

These shoes are extremely comfortable. Good flexibly, not too heavy/hot, and the waterproof feature does what it says.
The sizing was a bit bigger than expected. Not that I'm complaining... The width especially was generous. Now, i have to cinch them more than usual, but the toebox is extremely roomy.
Comfortable and not too sweaty for a 24hr shift. Can't comment on the durability, because I've only worn them for a couple shifts, but the construction quality looks great so far.
Only advice would be to order a "wide" size only if you wear a 4E or wider in other brands.

Although I had to return the wide shoe I had ordered, the regular width shoe fits perfectly and is extremely comfortable. I work in public safety and spend a lot of time on my feet. I have had Merrell hiking boots/shoes for several years and love them. The tactical version is just as comfortable as my hiking boots.

I have bad plantar fasciatus issues with my feet so I swapped to Merrell shoes a few years ago. Between stretching exercises and wearing Merrell shoes that problem has pretty much gone away. I continue to buy these shoes because they fit so well, however they fall apart pretty quickly on the top side like everyone else complains about. This is a known issue that Merrell needs to address. I have purchesed now 3 of the same shoes, and all 3 have done this in a matter of a few months. Once they start to look bad they get downgraded to yard shoes and I buy another set.

Shoe looks good and is very lightweight . They are getting more comfortable as I wear them . Still not sold they'll be a go to shoe for a person that spends long hours on their feet and at times a stationary position .
Can't comment on durability yet

I have several pairs of Merrell Moab shoes and all are 10.5 wide BUT, these Moab Tactical shoes in wide are ridiculously wide. Not sure why these would be so much different form the regular Moab shoes but they are no where near in size. Had to buy a pair in 10.5 regular for them to fit. Also not quite as comfortable as my regular Moabs. I took them to be the same basic show but done with different materials to make them "tactical". Didn't know they would fit so differently.

These shoes seemed to be built a touch better than previous merrel shoes I've purchased. I work on roofs and merrel shoes provide great traction but they do not hold up to the high temperature environment of roofing. They usually last me about 3-4 months per pair. I think the tactical would have lasted longer but I have stopped wearing them prematurely. After a few weeks of use my feet would get wet walking through wet grass in the mornings. My feet got wet too many times while working and they stunk so bad I quit wearing them except for on really dirty jobs.

I have some Moab 2 in W that I bought last year. This shoe, also a W, is definitely wider.

I purchased this pair for work. They are bulky & heavy for a sneaker like shoe. I've purchased other Merrell shoes before that I have worn to the ground. I didn't care for this style (pair) at all. I wear a size 12. The shoe isn't tight but I feel that because of the way the heel is styled that my foot is pushed forward into the shoe, if that makes any sense. I think I got use to the minimalist style Merrells that I have purchased in the past which have an even sole from front to back.

I have worn plenty of different models from Merrell and these aren't one of my favorite. Even after a few weeks of wearing them, they're still stiff and uncomfortable. Glad I tried them, but I won't be buying again. I like to many other models they offer.

I have a 3 year old pair of Merrell Tactical shoe Wide Width. The wide width used to be a wider width than what they sell now. Side by side my older pair has a least a 1/4 inch wider sole with resulting more room. The country of manufacture has changes and so has the fit. More narrow and I went up a 1/2 size.

I bought this shoe for work in a restaurant. It was my mistake that they are NOT non-slip. They are waterproof which is nice and obviously all black. The support is awesome but the shoe is def a bit wide. If you have skinny feet, which I absolutely do not btw, this shoe is not for you.

Merrell contacted me for this review. Gave 3 stars because I haven't had the shoes long enough.
They were a replacement for a pair of Moab waterproofs that I got last May. Those shoes' waterproofing failed within four months, their Vibram soles went flat/slick within six months, and the shoes themselves began falling apart after 8 months. I don't hike. I wear them as normal shoes for work (grocery) and out and about.
The shoes for this review haven't had time to fall apart yet. They do keep A TON OF HEAT on your feet. My socks are soaked after wearing them all day and they're starting to smell. Even after not wearing them for four days they still smell. The pair of Merrells that fell apart on me in a few months didn't do that.
So far I'm not at all impressed with Merrell's quality and haven't had this pair of shoes long enough to write a good review but this is the second time Merrell contacted me for feedback.

I'm a Police Officer. Been wearing these for about 1 month. They are very light but not the most comfortable shoe. The insoles could be better. Decent shoe.

Lasted about a year until the pull on loop on the back of one ripped and the other started fraying on the side. Not super durable l, but they are extremely comfortable. Would buy again knowing I only get a year of every other day wear out of them.

This is a great shoe. Tried it on extremely comfortable and the nylon upper seems more rugged than the original Moab 2 shoe which I liked. The only reason I did NOT buy it is because it is not water proof. The same style Tactical Moab 2 Mid has the waterproof membrane, but the shoe does not. Not sure why.

I fell in love with the women's Moab 2 Tactical Boot! Unfortunately I work at a hospital, and needed to throw my boots in the dryer to sanitize them. I melted the heel support, and had to get new shoes. I was extremely disappointed to find that I can no longer get these boots in women's (black) sizes. I decided to try the men's shoe version, and used the unisex conversion chart provided. I find the men's size does not fit as well as the women's. I had no issues with my women's boots, but the men's shoe is not long enough and is to wide. My poor big toes are bruised. The fit has gotten a little better, now that the shoe is breaking in. I would definitely advise women to forgo buying the men's shoes. Here's to hoping they bring back the women's boots/shoes that I fell in love with (in black)!
