Purchased them as water shoes but they are so comfortable I've been wearing them for everyday. I plan to buy another pair so I'll have a spare when these wear out!

Have not worn in water yet but the seem as comfortable as my hiking Merrell shoes. Love the fact that these lace up like shoes and have a nice anti skid sole.

My son needs hiking shoes that can be used during white water rafting and we're hoping these will work. He greatly favored these over Keens (Newport H2 were too bulky). He says they are really comfortable with and without socks and are really lightweight. Hoping they don't take too long to break in.

Great fitting shoe and true to size. Be aware it takes about a day or so of wearing for them to break in. The first day they felt tight but after that they fit fine.

The shoes are very light weight, but very supportive for the arch and on the sides and ankle. I used them on moderate hikes in Sedona, AZ and the grip on the soles was much better than I expected. I wore them around town on the 4-day trip which included city walking in Flagstaff and Phoenix. I often experience pain when walking in non-supportive shoes, but these were really good. I would definitely buy them again - I got what I needed: a lightweight shoe with good grip and support for a good price.

Not as wide in the toe box as the Pulsate, which is the most perfect sneaker I've ever worn, so I had to go a size larger, which I have done many times in the past when I like everything else about a shoe but it doesn't come in wide sizes. The contoured shape keeps my foot from sliding forward, so it was the right decision. Soft and lightweight, with a sole that has just enough support and feels great (more flexible than the Pulse, which I use for more rugged terrain), and they look great with gray, blue or black jeans or gym clothes.

My friends and I had booked a trip to Disneyworld in July months ago. Unfortunately the forecasted weather was 95 F with Thunderstorms and 90+ Humidity. I did not want to take my running shoes which do not feel good when soaked. I took a chance on these and was impressed. For those looking for a review of these shoes at a theme park in the worst conditions, this is for you.
The shoe can be worn with socks or without. I opted to wear these with a 90% Polyester blend sock initially because of the humidity. I didn't want my foot to feel sticky. And then it poured while we were in line and walking through. The shoe stood up fine and the water drained easily. It doesn't hold water so your feet won't feel like its in a sponge. After it stopped raining I kept the sock on for a couple hours after and then removed them. The sock was holding the water and didn't let me feet dry. After 1/2 hour without a sock, i felt my foot get drier. I was going to put my spare sock on, but I didn't mind the feel.
In conclusion, these have been field tested through Universal Studios Florida and Disneyworld Magic Kingdom. They are light, feel great on the feet, and easily handles wet weather. I haven't tried these hiking yet, but the ventilation would definitely keep your feet cool on the trail.

These shoes fit perfectly. I have always enjoyed Merrells and they have always lasted me a long time (well over a year). I would have no problem buying this brand from Zappos again! Great customer service and they arrived a day early.

My husband has dubbed these his “favorite shoes EVER”. And this is from a guy who really could care less about what is on his feet. He had me try them on (we are almost the same size) and I had to admit they are comfy and VERY lightweight). He’s worn these for two days straight at a barbecue festival (he was on his feet overnight as he’s the “pit master” ), many long walks with our kids. We hope they last a long while!

Good looking shoe, light weight yet great support. The size is spot on. If you're looking for a light weight shoe this is it.

Finally! After a three to four year hiatus Merrell puts out a shoe that I can wear again! I used to wear their shoes all the time, often owning several pairs at once. And then, for some reason, they felt the need to put in this painful arch "lump" which felt like a rock in your shoe. It seemed during this time that all their shoes had this (casual, trail running, hiking) so of course I stopped wearing anything they put out. These shoes have rid themselves of that affliction! These shoes are very lightweight but don't feel cheap too me in their construction. So far they have held up fine. And as usual, I like their design. Size wise they are just as Merrell has always been. It's a great shoe. I hope they keep on track with this. I don't want shoes with a arch support.. my feet are healthy thank you. I look at it this way... you can always add arch support to shoes if you need it but you can't take it away if it is built in.

Merrells always look better than they feel. The design of this shoe is awesome. Generous & roomy width. Fun rubber badge on the tongue. Nice piping on the sides. And colorful laces. This shoe lols like it’s ready for business! But I’m always disappointed how Merrells feel. They always feel like I’m flat-footed. Yet I keep trying them & hoping for a better match...

I ordered four pairs of shoes from Zappos to use on a Grand Canyon River Rafting trip, I wanted to check out the size and fit before picking one. All four seemed true to size and had a good fit. It came down to a choice between these and the Merrel HydroTrekkers, but I ended up not choosing these.
