I wanted to love this boot, and I WOULD have loved it, except for what seemed like a really obvious problem. The laces on this relatively heavy boot only come to the middle of my foot, letting my heel slip out with every step. If they’d laced up higher, I would’ve kept them. As is, it seemed like no one tested this boot for functionality- I had to return. I’m very disappointed- it seems like such an obvious design flaw and I expect more from a Born product.

Love these! Just what I wanted. Casual, a little funky and different, and so well made. Nice detail with the braid and the leather laces. Soft but sturdy leather. Well cushioned footbed but no arch support. These will be my "go to" casual boot for fall and winter. Good with jeans, leggings, tights. I ear a 10 and they just fit nicely, but until they loosen up bit, no thick socks. My foot is a med to slightly wide. Only downside is the leather has a bit of an odor that should fade away soon. I got the rust. This is the fourth chukka style boot I've tried (Clarks, Hush Puppies, etc) but they were all to stiff around the ankle and foot.

Great boots! These are very comfortable and versatile. They can be worn with jeans and a sweater, dress or more casual with a sweatshirt. I have been wearing them almost everyday since I got them.

I really wanted to love this shoe. Born is a great quality brand and these are good looking winter boots- but they just didn't work out. They are smaller and narrower overall than I would expect from a boot- cut more like a dressy shoe. Not too cushioned under the sole either and overall just kind of stiff. I also found I didn't like the fact that they can't be laced up all the way to the top- left a weird bulge/gap at the top. I sent them back- but for someone with a narrower, more delicate foot than mine these could still be a good buy- great quality.

This shoe is incredibly comfortable from the very beginning! I spent much of the day walking and standing and my feet are not sore... this is only the second day I've worn them! Also, there is plenty of room if you need to add a little extra arch support! Highly recommend!

Very cute boots--I loved the braid and leather laces, and a bit different than other boots! I normally wear a size 8.5 but with the 1st pair I ordered, my toes were almost hitting the front of the boot . Had to size up a half size to 9. Length worked great with size 9 but then they were a little wide. I'm used to that as I have very narrow feet and I usually remedy this by wearing thicker socks. As mentioned, not a lot of cushioning but I always use custom made orthotics, which fit fine.

I LOVE these shoes! I was a little concerned because some reviews said that they ran small, but I ordered my regular size (8.5) and they were perfect. So comfy and cute and great for walking a lot. A very happy Christmas present to myself!

My foot is made for BORN and I have a closet full. I tried these on in the department store. I am usually a 9 or 9 1/2 in Born. The clerk brought me 9 1/2 because they run small. My toes hit the end. They did not have a 10 so I ordered the gray from Zappos. They were a little big and hardly any arch support, but so so cute. So I put my own arch supports in and then the heels were too wide(I do have narrow heels) so I put in stick on heel pads) All is well now.......I really wanted these to work as you can tell. The burgundy is adorable but Zappos was out of that color in my size. Love the gray too.

I love these boots! I ordered a half size bigger than I usually wear and they fit perfect. I'm thinking about ordering a pair in black.

Wow, have I been missing out? Are all Born shoes like these?? Super comfortable, well-made and have a cool hippie/hiking/hipster vibe. I am between a 7.5 and an 8 and went with and 8. Glad I did. I have slightly wide feet and bunions and these are perfect and can accommodate thicker socks. Not cool enough to wear them out yet but they don't seem like they will have a breaking in period. I had almost given up hope for a cute boot I can wear all day, glad I found these!!

THESE CAN WORK FOR NARROW FEET Super cute and run narrower. I have a AA WIDTH and these shoes are not perfectly narrow, but they can definitely work. I normally wear an 8 and first ordered 8.5 because of reviews. My left foot is 1/2 size larger than right. Toes on my left foot were right at toes. I wore them around the house a few days and they were comfortable I could live with the size but the one thing that drove me crazy was in material of the insoles, a velvet feel, my socks kept scrunching down. However, I order a nine too see if those would maybe work better. The was a bit big, however, my orthodics insoles I wear in my running shoes made them fit perfectly. Sock eater solved also!! Kept the 9!

I love these booties. The leather is supple and the look is pure Bohemian. You’ll notice the leather smell for a few days, but don’t worry, it goes away. I wear these with bare feet. No rubbing. Beware the rawhide laces. It’s like the old days but I love the look

I love this shoe. I have another pair that has held up spectacularly to two years of wear. I purchased these to have a second pair in a different color, and to look a bit nicer than the pair I have worn and worn and worn!

The shoes are darling. They're my Star Wars booties. They can be worn all day in complete comfort.

I ordered a half size bigger, but shouldn't have. Normal size is perfect. Very cute. Only complaint is that my socks slide down in the boot after walking in them. Not sure how to correct that.

Loved the design and super comfortable, but unfortunately too wide. Since the laces don't come up very high I couldn't just tie it tighter to deal with the width.

I’m not one to spend a lot on shoes but these were TOTALLY worth it. I love the look of them and they’re actually comfortable for boots. I ordered an 11 since that was the biggest size available and they’re supposed to run a bit small. I opened the box and immediately thought there was no way they’d fit my big feet. But they did! A little snug on my right foot in the toe area, where the widest part of your foot is. But as others have suggested, I wore them around the house a bit and they stretched out a little, making them fit better. I’m in love with these!

I totally love these boots! They are super comfortable and have a wide toe area, even with heavy socks; however, I did order one half size larger than I usually wear. So cute with jeans - my favorite shoes this year! Try them, you will love them!

Cute, casual, and potentially comfy. However, they are so wide that I'd have to tie the laces very tightly, which is uncomfortable and doesn't actually solve the width issue. They seem like they'd be very comfortable, but I won't keep shoes that don't fit.

Sized up a half size and am glad I did. I love that the laces are actually functional as I have narrow feet and most boots are too wide but I can tighten these. The heel does feel a bit roomier than the rest of the shoe like others mention but it really doesn’t pose a problem with socks on. I do wish there was a way to hide the laces once tied like it shows in the picture tho. But the tongue of the boot is attached all the way up so you can’t tuck them. That my only Small complaint for a comfy and cute boot though!

These boots are what I’ve been looking for for at least 2 years now. Comfy, cute, not too feminine that I feel like I have to dress all fashionable (lol), but also can be paired with skinny jeans and a cute sweater or layers like vests/cardis etc. I am a true 8.5 NEVER have to size up or down but with these, I had to size up to a 9. I would have had to stay with super thin socks on the 8.5 whereas with the 9s, I can wear regular socks or thicker winter socks. Thank goodness for Zappo’s excellent return policy and quick/free shipping both ways! So excited for these. I’m in my 30s, love Birkenstock’s, yoga, and the great outdoors...these will fit in just fine! ?

I love these boots but I have to agree with those who say to go up a 1/2 size. I almost always wear a size 7 in shoes -- in Clarks boots I sometimes have to go as low as a size 6 if I am wearing them with tights -- but these boots needed a little more room in the toe area for me. I would say that if I were going to wear them with tights, they would have been okay, but I plan to wear socks. Returned the 7s for 7.5. I ordered the rust and it is a very nice golden brown color.

I love Borns. I have had and do have various styles of Born Shoes. I consistently wear a 7 1/2 in Born, with this shoe I moved up to an 8. I love the feel and look of this shoe.
