As a wedding and event photographer, I'm on my feet for 8 to 12 hours at a time (and with heavy cameras and lenses attached to my body, at that). I have been searching for years for truly supportive and comfortable shoes for my high-arched feet and not-so-thin body frame/weight. I finally found exactly what I was looking for in these Alegria Dani shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life. Happy to have found and taken a chance on them. I own them in basic black, and will be adding other colors in future months. VERY, VERY happy with my Alegria Danis. (Alegria - please do not make any changes to this model!!!!)

This shoe is way to wide for my foot. I don't have any trouble with their sandals, but do with their enclosed shoes. Too bad because I do love the support that Alegria offers.

Based on other reviews I sized down from my normal 9m and am glad I did. Still a little wide at the heel, slightly snug overall but the fabric part at the top does have some stretch. The next size up would have definitely run too big. This shoe is very comfortable like walking on pillows. I got the wine color which is gorgeous and a hard to find color but goes with all my winter clothing. Have received many compliments at work.

I have more than a dozen pairs of Alegria (I'm addicted) and the Dani in Wine Glitter was my latest purchase. I usually wear a 39, but had to size down to a 38 in this style. Thanks, Zappos, for letting me try both sizes and easily return the ones that didn't work. I love, love, love the color and it goes with so many of my fall clothes. The grosgrain ribbon laces are a pretty touch and I appreciate the spare pair that is included. Of course, the comfort is wonderful in these shoes, as with all Alegria. They really are a Dream Fit. I would purchase the Starlit color, but I don't like the black neoprene (it should be navy blue).

I was concerned these shoes would be too colorful funky for me... now I don't care! They are so comfortable and help so much with my plantar fasciitis that I wear them all the time.

These are the BEST shoes I’ve bought in a long time. I have “problem” feet and these shoes are comfortable, walkable, and cute. I think I’ll get another pair!

I usually wear 91/2 in most shoes. I second guessed myself and got the 39, but it was just a bit too small in the length and width. The 40 was perfect. These shoes have a little bit of room (not too much) so you can wear a decent sock with them. They have that great Alegria sole that helps you walk with less effort. I am on my feet on a cement floor all day (art teacher) and these shoes are fantastic. They even come with regular laces and velvet ones. The Grappa Baby is a nice reddish/wine color. I love them!!!

First of all let me tell you: I have hard to fit feet plus neuropathy. Have sent many pairs of shoes back to Zappos, but NOT these, oh no no no no!!! It feels like I am walking on clouds (wonder how I know that)?
I thought the size 39 would look huge but the slant of the shoe takes away from the length and they look good. So......BUY them, your feet will love you for it!!!

If I am looking for a comfortable , wear all day shoe with excellent support then Algeria is my "go to." This shoe has a more "updated" look than some of the other Algerias. Great looking with skinny jeans as well as flared. The velvet laces are a nice touch too! Also if you tend to have a narrow foot this one laces so it might work better than some of the other Alegrias. Runs very true to size.Would definitely purchase again.

I read the reviews and paid attention; even though I have a pair of Alegria Mary Janes in my usual size 40 (which is usually 9 or 9 1/2) I ordered these in a 39 and the fit was perfect. The footbed does not disappoint: supportive, firm but cushioned, forms to my foot perfectly. I have a slightly wide foot (not wide enough for an actual W) and these are great for me. The only cons: it is hard to get my foot in with a sock on, as the lining works against the fabric of the sock and the tongue of the shoe is attached to the sides. Also, WOW they stink like spray paint but I am confident that will dissipate! :) Can't wait to wear them to work!

I love them, but they run big. I got 37, and after couple of days wearing them, they are kind of loose. Still pretty much in love with them!

This is a beautiful shoe and I would have loved it but there were 2 items that did not work for me: the toe box is not as deep as other shoes like the Paloma. I would have loved to have a lace up to really hold my foot where it belongs in the shoe, but these laces did not tighten the shoe enough to keep me from sliding forward into the toes.

These shoes are very comfortable and the rocker sole is just what my feet require (I have hallux limitus). The tie style with fabric upper is very versatile and perfect for everyday casual wear. I noted other reviews and tried my usual size as well as one size smaller. The usual size was just right for me. Please, Alegria, keep making shoes like these!

Reviews said this shoe ran large, but not quite large enough for my toes which were pushed up against the unforgiving leather surrounding the footbed. The shoe has incredible support and a forward pitch which should be excellent for walking, but unfortunately, too short for me. They are unusual looking, but oddly cute.

Perfect "Retail Feet" shoe!
I am a dedicated Sanita stapled clog person & have worn them for years. Have them in many colors. Love them.
However, I work in a retail setting which involves standing, walking and ladder climbing.
I found the slight heel of my Sanita clogs were sometimes problematic when climbing those ladders. While needing a rocker sole shoe, decided I needed one with a flat bottom.
I bought the Alegria Debra & while comfortable, it changed my gait and made me walk like a drunkard. I tried all kinds of remedies to correct the instability I experienced while walking in the Debra shoe. No go...have packed them away.
My search continued. Earlier in my search I had ordered from Zappos the Dani style. However,I was looking for a slip on shoe, hence my purchase of the Debra.
I now re-ordered the Dani from Zappos and found it as welcoming a fit as I remembered it from my first brief encounter with it.
When wearing the Dani, my walk is secure, my gait is firm and normal, my toes are comfortable. Due to an old foot injury I now have hallux rigidus but does not matter in these Dani shoes. I have worn them all day and still have them on. After a short period of wear, the footbed accommodated the shape of my foot.
They are so functional and secure in their fit, they soon become a go-to shoe.
I bought them in the Starlit color to wear with denim.
Have my eye on the Pesca style for a warm weather shoe.

I have troublesome feet, and because I work 10 hour shifts entirely on my troublesome feet, I struggle to find comfortable shoes.
I have been wearing size 38 Pesca to work for years, but when I replaced my worn out pair, the new shoes felt too small. I had to reorder a size up to get comfort.
I decided to try the Dani, and I ordered both a 38 and a 39. The 38 Dani feels a longer and wider than my size 38W Pesca. The rocker bottom is going to be different, and I don't know how they will feel after a long day, but I am hoping they will be comfortable

This is a very comfortable shoe, the width and depth of the foot and toe area seem a bit wider than a regular width, possibly due to the fabric, which looks more casual than I was hoping for, for work. With that being said, they are super comfortable with great arch support. I'm looking forward to wearing these to work and hope to find a few more styles that might fit and support my foot, which had a 5th metatarsal break. I have worn Dansko professional clogs for the past 10 years, but since my break, I am looking for a shoe that will give me more support and less chance of rolling my ankle over and re-injuring my foot.

This shoe was super roomy on me even though I ordered the usual size 8 wide. This wide seemed super wide to me and my heel was slipping. I could have exchanged for a smaller size but they came a little late for my trip. Personally I didn’t like the way they looked on my feet but they were REALLY comfortable. So don’t let that stop your purchase if this is the type of shoe you need.

I bought the Allegria Dani in the Navy Swish color. The navy parts are embossed with an interesting design, and the top is black fabric, not blue, that resembles velveteen (not suede). I dithered a bit whether or not to keep these shoes because I truly wanted an all-blue shoe to wear with jeans, and the black on top is predominantly what you see. I tried them on and, wow, sooo comfortable. The arch support is perfect, not too aggressive or in the wrong place. The cush on the bottom is great. The toe box is generous, and the toe shape is like a real foot, not too round or too pointy. My only complaint is that one shoe seems wider than the other. The narrower one fits perfectly in every way (10.5M) but the other shoe feels loose, like it is slightly too wide from heel to toe (not too long, just too wide). If I tightly lace the too-wide one, it is better, but still loose. Instead of sending them back, I "road-tested" them at a several hour visit to a plant nursery. All kinds of surfaces: gravel, rocky, lumpy, muddy, slippery. Completely comfortable, completely stable, including the looser shoe. I am a little concerned that the top, black cloth part will get dirty and possibly not be waterproof, but otherwise it is fine -- a little dusty after the nursery, but it brushed right off. The shoes are VERY well made, sturdy, casual-stylish, comfortable right out of the box, so for me, keepers. (Laces are also the velveteen material but alternate "real" laces are included.)

I wanted to be able to wear these, but there's a funny little ridge at the toes that make custom orthotics difficult to fit in (presumably, you could cut your orthotics shorter). Their own insert works fine; it has a cutout for the ridge.
