Although I still rate this bag 5 stars, I thought it important to point out that the telescopic handle on this garment bag is unusually wide. As a result, it will not fit through the sleeve of my Samsonite backpack when piggybacking one on the other. One would think that Samsonite would have given this more thought. In any case, I still manage to place my backpack on the rolling garment bag, but must hold the handles of both bags to prevent the backpack from falling off. Otherwise, a really nice bag for extended trips 3-5 days.

Business and pleasure

Mostly 1-2 week business trips. It really is as big inside as a 26in standard suitcase. Unusual format makes it easy to handle. Does track straight when rolling. But suits don't fit as well inside, and are more wrinkled/creased. The lid hangs up on the wheels when you open it, which is a bit of poor design. Built-in lock is a plus.

I returned the product because it was just a horizontal version of the deep well vertical type rather than the clam-shell type of suitcase I expected like the one I saw in the Samsonite retail store (i.e., that opens like a clam-shell, not just a deep well, with compartments, place to hang a suit, shirts, pants, etc). I personally do not like this type of luggage. The customer service representative advised that the website store does not sell the same merchandise as the retail brick and mortar store, and does not sell the clam-shell type of suitcase I thought I was ordering. Since the website does not sell the same merchandise as its retail stores, I wonder how anyone can examine the luggage to see if it is what they truly want. Also, they would not permit me to take it back to the Samsonite retail store since they do not sell the same merchandise as the Samsonite on-line store. Instead, I had to return it at my cost to the website store which cost me over $50. The shipping cost was so high because it considers the weight of the product and the size of the box. I was told to ship it only by Fedex or UPS. UPS was less expensive. I am extremely unhappy about this and consider the whole website operation to be very poor marketing and very poor customer service. I do not plan to buy from the Samsonite website in the future because of this. I caution people that since the website products are not the same as the retail store, if you buy on-line and find that it was not meeting your expectations, you will not be happy about the cost to return it. I recommend that you buy Samsonite luggage from a brick and mortar store rather than the internet/Samsonite website so that you can actually examine what you are buying, and you can return it without exorbitant shipping cost to you if for any reason you need to return it.
