Most buildings I find myself in here in San Francisco lack decent central heating, so I'm usually wearing many layers. When I head outside, I don't need too much insulation, but I do need protection from wind and fog. This coat gives me just that. The fleece interior gives me a light layer of warmth without any bulk. The wool exterior is styled for the city, so I don't look like I'm headed for a mountain hike. The fabric is nice and quiet too. I tested the hood and sealed seams by walking a few blocks in a rain shower. It did its job and kept me dry. No moisture seeped through the seams. The large hood with stiff brim kept my head and face dry without smashing my hair. I've been wearing this coat regularly for nearly six months and it still looks new.
I am 5'3", 112lbs, square shoulders, medium bust, narrow hips. Size XS fits over a bulky sweater. The a-line shape allows me to sit comfortably without unzipping the coat.

Living in Newfoundland, Canada I needed a coat that I could wear in all weather for walking to and from work, that would keep me warm and dry, yet looks professional. This coat is fabulous for that. Its incredibly warm and comfortable. I've been caught in downpours and the water resistance kept me dry. One day I was caught in a large rainstorm and walked for 20 minutes. The coat performed well and the only area where water managed to seep through was under the armpits where the water was pooling. It dries fast however and keeps it's shape. It has become a 3-season coat for me, wearing it from autumn through to spring. I found it incredibly warm in winter walking to work, wearing a fleece underneath and a touque.
My only complaint is the hood is a little too big for me. In windy weather its hard to keep it close to your head. Perhaps an inner drawstring might help to draw it close in high winds. The added room however allows the wearer to fit a torque under the hood, which in cold weather is an added bonus.
I bought the small which is a good fit for me, I am 5'3". The coat comes comes to mid-thigh and serves as a stylish overcoat. The quality of the fabric is a bonus. I recommend this coat.
