These pants are perfect for traveling. They are very cute as long pants, can be worn in the city. Or by unzipping the bottom, are very cute shorts for warm weather, hiking or camping. They are true to size. I bought 30'' inseam and at 5'2", they work well with sandals or walking shoes. They are lightweight, quick dry and they will travel with me this summer to Europe.

My son owns several pairs of Kuhl pants and shorts, and when I started to shop for hiking pants for myself this was my first brand to go to. Several exchanges later (thank you Zappos for easy returns) I still didn't find a pair that fits well. Sizing in Kuhl is inconsistent, to say the least and depending on the style it was all over the place from size 10-14. Kuhl seems to run small and the Kuhl Kliffside convertible was a snug fit in size 12 on my average 160 lbs, 52 year old "mom" body, while size 14 was a very loose and relaxed fit. Taking the stretchy fabric into account, I would have chosen the size 12 as it most likely would fit perfectly after a wearing it for a while. That said, this pair was returned as well, as the zipper to "convert" them into pants was making them uncomfortable. It was ok with standing/walking, but when climbing stairs or sitting down the zipper was riding up and tightened around my thigh. I was worried that this would be very annoying, if not uncomfortable while hiking. Again, I have an "average" body/legs and for comparison, I comfortably can wear Athleta size 10 Trekkie Skorts or the Athleta Metro Skort in size M, while my last seasons Lena skort from Prana is a size 6. In jeans I usually wear between a 27R-29R depending on brand. Overall I find Kuhl to be very small around the waist (compared to other brands like Athleta or Prana), while too wide/baggy in the butt/thighs. This is also the reason why I have returned all Kuhl Shorts and Capris. Each pair that fit comfortably at the waist looked baggy and frumpy around the legs. The exception was the Kliffside, which ironically ended up being too tight at the leg zip-off area.

I love these pants, but they run way too small. I am usually a 10, ordered a 12 that is way too small. I have ordered a 14 to see they fit since I love the feel and what I perceive as being a great item for any fishing expedition.

Absolutely wonderful pants. I have 4 pair of Kuhls- and this is the first time I bought the Kliffside Convertibles. They seemed true to size - I’m 5’8” and weigh maybe 150? I bought the size 10 length 32. I usually prefer 34 but these are a full 32. I don’t feel the impulse to push them down for length. They are lightweight (I live where the temps run 88°+ each day) and have a slimming look. I prefer snap thigh pockets instead of these, that have zippers, because these pockets are a little smaller but that’s the trade off for a slimmer look. They do make a quiet rustle when I walk but that’s the material, not surprising. If Zappos gets more colors, I’ll likely buy more.

I have a ridiculously hard time finding pants that fit, and it's rare when I order a second pair and they fit me exactly the same. I bought a pair of these in a different color. I liked them so much I ordered the tan color. I was shocked by the consistency in sizing. I'm 5'2", 125 lbs, and have a small waist, big hips, and thick thighs. Not only do these pants fit me, but they look good too. The 30" inseam is a bit long, but not so long as to require hemming. KUHL is my new favorite brand. The pants are well made and I expect them to last a long time.

My new favorite. I have North Face convertible pants, which I found sufficient. These are so much better. Fast dry, nice style, lots of pockets. I will be buying more.
