Bought this pack 1 year ago for my day hike. It was super light and fit perfectly with my torso size. The side pocket was great to fit with my water bottle / flask. It would be nice if comes with rain cover. Hoping that Osprey will have Talon 16 Liter panel loading in future.

Oke, simply said...this backpack is perfect! Eleven liter might sounds too small for most people, but it can carry enough substantial stuffs for your day hike, city walk, biking, and even technical climbing or summit attack. Been using it for city walk to carry my 13.3 inch laptop + charger adaptor, 1 sweater, 1 light rain jacket, phones, wallet, and a water bottle; and yet there is some space left for other stuffs and still feels very comfortable on my back; it hugs me very nicely. Although it's not designed to carry laptop, but I think it is secure enough as it has padded back panel. I store the Talon 11 in the large front pocket of my Stratos 50 and it sits there nicely. I plan to bring this for my next climbing trip for summit attack, just to carry 1 down jacket, 1 light water/windproof jacket, light raincoat, gloves, water reservoir and snacks. Even the bungee strap at the front will be very usefull to store your wet stuffs. I think this bag is designed for this purpose, as it also has climbing feature such as stow-on-the-go, dedicated water reservoir compartment, and helmet attachment. That's why I think this bag will also perfect for mountain climbing, as it is light, quite spacious, has helmet attachment, and most importantly very very comfortable hugging your back. I will definitely recommend this backpack to anyone, as this will serve multiple purpose.

Have been searching for the best pack for summit attack when I'm on mountain climbing, and found Talon 11 is the best to suit my style. It's light enough as additional backpack to hang onto my Stratos 50. The space is just enough to carry 2 jackets, 1 light rain jacket, water reservoir, and some snacks. Summit attack usually started from 2 or 3am when everything still very dark, and I can attach my small light on the back just to add extra visibility to my other fellow climbers. I also don't have to worry with my trekking pole as it has stow on the go too. If you think you need a helmet while climbing, the helmet attachment is there. I also use this for city walk and this is perfect! The back system is so soft and very comfortable, it's hugging you back very nicely. I wish there is more color option in my home town's local stores. I get the grey one, that's the only available color, but it doesn't bother me much. I think it will be great for mountain biking too, but haven't try it. I would reccomend this to anyone who need a minimalist bakpack with essential features for climbing.

Have used this pack almost daily for 4 years now. Can hold a change of clothes and shoes when needed. Perfect sized pack when you need to carry and have available or doff a layer, in addition to safety and day's use capabilities. The pack's "narrowness" when fit means that I forget I've got it on, even after hours of wear. Hip belt pouches allow me to carry flashlight and snacks for times when I need either (or both). Tall side bottle holders keep even S'well (500ml) bottles in place securely (unless i need to run, in which case I loop an elastic "hair tie" through the relective loop at the top of the holder then loop the other end over the bottle. Now i can run and nothing shifts at all.) Just love the fit and usefulness of this pack as a daypack. it'd be poor even for an overnight pack, but single day use couldn't ask for anything better.

I bought this as a dedicated summertime day-hiking pack for one-day missions. I have to say, this is one of the best fitting packs I've ever owned. It feels like it's hugging me. I got the larger size (female, 5'9', long torso) and I'm so glad I did. The waist belt on many packs creeps up around my belly button, but this one stays put right over my hips. It's not huge, but it keeps me focused in my packing, which is a good thing anyway. I'm really glad I got it and it makes my hikes more enjoyable to have a nicer pack with good pockets and excellent function. I expect I'll enjoy it for many years and miles. Thanks Osprey!

I use this pack primarily for mountain biking at which it excels as a comfortable, light handy pack. It's space, pockets and weight really impress me; I hardly notice I'm wearing it! The zips don't snag and the 'secure-your-helmet' feature is awesome! I honestly can't think of anything bad about it.

I use this bag as my day pack when I'm hiking. It's lightweight and small. You need to think through what you're going to take in it as it doesn't have a lot of room but is big enough for my 11 inch laptop, my purse and passport, my lunch, water, and an extra jumper. Recently took it as my bag on a flight and did find it a little finicky and probably too small for a long haul flight (28 hours) but I don't usually pack light!! On the return I took an extra bag for anything that didn't fit in it which probably isn't ideal. Still, I love how light it is, particularly with my computer in it and use it as a day bag for short hiking trips. It hasn't aged since I bought it about 12 months ago.

This is a truly the right pack design, especially for trail running/ultras. The pack distributed the load evenly, unlike the Rev Series which carries like a Box Car! If Osprey design engineers could just see that a conformal pack design, coupled with the suspension of the Rev Series and marry them together, that design would hit a home run with Trail runners! I have used the Rev during a 50 miler and I ditched it within the first 10 miles due to load shift and the boxy feel. I ended using an Ultimate Design running pack for the rest of the race. Lastly, the pocket for the cell phone should use material to allow for various size cell phones. Not a deal breaker but helpful. Osprey, you have dynamite packs! Please understand the concept of conformal coverage with a tight running suspension so the user feels one with the pack. I look forward to your 2018 line!

Bought the Talon 11 as a small day pack for cycling. I have the Osprey 26 which I love, but wanted something smaller for day trips. Great pack, right size, I have a 38" waist and can barely close the hipwaist cinch, just sent a letter to support requesting some kind of extension that I can add between the closurers. Guess we will see.

Pack holds all necessities plus for day hikes. Cons listed above. As w/older version, Osprey needs to replace cinch buckle-load lifter straps with snap closures (like on waist belt). As they are now, it makes it very difficult to open hydraulic area wide enough to insert reservoir. Also would like to see bungee front replaced w/stuff pouch. And inside-outside compression straps not necessary on such a small pack. Having said all that, I still like the pack w/personal hack adjustments I made myself.
