Love the velcro on the inside of the tongue. Makes its super easy to get on and my son loves geting them on by himself. This allows him to do so pretty easily.

I bought these for my grandson. We both live them. He can put his shoes on by himself. He loves being Independent.

I was looking for shoes without laces. My 3 year old daughter can put these on by herself since the Velcro on one side. The blue and pink color are so cute! The are a little wide, so we have to make sure to Velcro tight, so they do not slip off. I would recommend these for little kids who can not tie yet, but want the independence of putting their own shoes on.

With the Velcro side closure, these are so much easier to get on my two year old daughter's feet than lace-up converse, and they look more like "big girl shoes" than the ones with velcro straps. My daughter goes through periods where she doesn't want to wear them and prefers her lighter-weight stride rite shoes, but overall she is usually happy to pull these on (which she is able to help with) and they stay on her feet well. Plus, they're adorable and easy to keep clean with a quick washcloth rub down once a week or so. Since these are light colored canvas, I run them through the wash machine periodically to keep them looking brightly colored. They do make her feet feel hot after a full day of wearing them, but she doesn't complain about it. I can just tell because her feet are hot when she takes them off.

I was really looking forward to having these as transitional spring sneakers for my 11-month-old. He still has chubby baby feet and he wears Pumas in a size 3 and Converses in a size 4 easily. I thought these would be easy to get on like the velcro-strapped baby converses, but the tongue of the shoe only comes up on one side (where it is velcroed to the outside of each shoe), and is sewn down with an elastic band on the other side. This made it harder to get his feet into the shoe compared to the velcro-strapped baby converses. Pretty bummed that I have to return these as the color is even nicer (softer) in person.
