I purchased the size based on the 100% review that the shoe runs small...it did not. In my opinion, if you've owned Shimano shoes, their sizing is the same as it always has been. It may feel smaller than regular shoes, but as a riding shoe it should be snug.

Size: These run small. I'm usually a size 45 and had to size up to 46. I was also considering Giro Terraduro shoes and had to size up to 46 in those as well.
Pedal Compatibility: The Giros in size 46 did not work with my Crankbrothers Mallet E pedals (too small of Q factor - they hit the crank arm). These Shimanos work perfect and I feel they are a better shoe. They work well with the egg beater pedals and I imagine they work even better with a SPD pedal.
Pedaling and walking: These have a stable pedal platform but the forefoot flexes enough to allow you to walk up rocky terrain. The outsole is sticky on the pedals without being clipped in thanks to Michelin rubber. You can adjust the cleats on these pedals further back than most XC shoes which helps with a more aggressive stance to tackle fast downhill lines.
Buckle/Laces: I was leary of getting these tight with the pull string bottom but it works great. Top ratchet mechanism is a great idea and works flawlessly.
I think these are the go to Enduro or Trail pedal for 2017.

Fit was good and the shoes performed well for about 18 months. Then the sole started to separate.
This is the first pair of mountain bike shoes where that has happened for me.
I alternate between two different pairs of shoes to help minimize wear and I do not ride where the shoes can get wet.
