These are my go to high activity base layer pants. I use them and the top all winter long unless it's very cold or I won't be moving as much. Very comfortable, keep me toasty, and dry quick. I ordered size up for a little room because I have big legs and glutes, but fit great and aren't loose anywhere. I have nothing bad to say about these pants whatsoever.

Rad. They get cool when you stay still and if the temperature drops but rad for all around use and esp. if you can add and remove layers.

I love these bottoms, they're featherweight. Along with the Phase SL Zipneck Top, I wear these for high-output activities like nordic skiing, running, or strenuous hiking when it's 25 degrees F or warmer. Any air movement across these phase baselayers makes me feel cold! That's a good thing when I'm putting out a lot of heat, but if I'm going to stop to stand around for a while, I get chilled very quickly, even after throwing on several more layers, so I would not recommend this top for stop-and-go activities in winter (but maybe in summer).
These are very tight-fitting, but that's probably one of the reasons they're awesome at wicking moisture. My only complaint is that the bottom of the pant legs is so small I can hardly pull it over my ankle. I could hear the stitching break the very first time I pulled them on. Now I'm very careful getting them on and off over my feet.

I wear my Phase SL bottoms all winter as my first layer for skiing all winter regardless of temperature. If it's warmer out aka spring conditions I only wear these and my ski socks and I'm good to go. Anything colder I throw these under another 3/4 'boot cut' thermal layer and I've been warm while semi-active down to 5 F. The wicking properties are superb and they add just the perfect amount of warmth to wear underneath almost any pair of pants I own. I'm a 30 waist, 32 inseam with smaller legs and the medium fits perfectly.

I'm 6' and 158lbs.. small waist , generally 30 and the small fits me perfectly. I do have rather skinny legs though so.. but for my thru hikes I've always hated carrying a pair of leggings weighing 8oz that I only wore on cold nights or in certain sections. Then a 7.5oz top.. together weighing almost a 1lb just for those 2 items These were the perfect compromise because they weigh under 4oz (in the small) and combined with the matching top (size large) weighing only about 4.5oz.. together the weight almost equaled what my old leggings alone did.. im not even an ultralight weight hiker, but again this had always annoyed me (the weight of my old base layers..) the material on these is great!
the material appears very thin but don't be fooled, it does the job! Great option for people looking for lightweight base layers offering versatility.

Why is this base layer designed such that you have to wear a boxer short under it?
I own several pairs of Arc'teryx Phase SL and they're all excellent, I had expected the same from this, but there is absolutely no support whatsoever (and I'm sorry to be somewhat crass) in the crotch, which means that you need to wear an additional item (like the Phase SL) in order to compensate for this fact and provide support for 'yourself'.
Surely this item should just be an extension of the original boxer, and then you could layer an extra pair underneath (or over the top) if you needed to do so, anyway?
I cannot really reccomend this item to anyone until the above flaws I mentioned are fixed; the materials and quality of production to design, though, are as always without fault.
