I use hats like this when doing yard work. When lawnmowing I use DeWalt ear muffs. This fact leads me toward caps with neck flaps rather than hats with neck flaps. The Salomon cap does not cover the ears, and there is a hole in the back, suitable for some with ponytails, they say, but there should be an option to adjust the neck flap over the hole in the back. In summary, the Salomon cap is very 'stylish' and not very functional as far as sun protection.
