If you're not getting the "Made In England" shoes, then these are the Docs to get. The soft leather lasts, of course it's always better if you treat them, but these won't crack easily and their long life is worth the extra cost. Very good shoes, not extremely supportive but very comfy otherwise.

Great looking shoe. Ordered my natural size but shoe felt tight. I’d go half size up next time.

I've owned two pairs of these over the past three years. After a little over one year the outsoles on the first pair split along the sides of both shoes. Received second pair in exchange for the first, same issue -- outsoles split along the sides of both shoes. Dug through my closet and found a 15-year old pair of "greasy" finish made-in-the-UK Dr. Marten's I forgot I owned. Obviously they are of much higher quality than the new ones are. Don't waste your money on the new ones.

To sum it up, we have had two pairs of the same shoe split along the seams. Zappos was great with the first return in May. Now we need to return the second pair. Actually to bad, my husband really liked them . We will not purchase this again. ;(

Love these! Some Dr. Martens have had “plasticy” leather. Not these. The leather feels great. Like the quality I always loved.

After an easy return for a size up, these Docs fit great and feel great out of the box! I would recommend getting a size larger for Doc Martens from Zappo's, than the DMs you would get from a brick-and-mortar retail location. Still, the Zappo's prepaid return system was easy and fast, even with the complication of refunding to a gift card before reordering. Thanks, Zappo's, for a great, easy shop/purchase/return!

These are my first pair of Doc Martins. The things are heavy! But feel just as sturdy and well made. Not the most comfortable shoe I have ever had but definately comfy enough. 4 / 5 on comfort. Pretty neutral looking shoe, but I imagine these will last a very long time.

My 14 year old son loves these shoes which I bought without him seeing them when I couldn't find his usual dusty bucks for Spring and Summer dress shoes. He says they're really comfortable. I was a bit worried about the yellow stitching, but he really likes the style.

Size runs big. I would size down a half size. Also, insoles have no support, and are very hard. I would buy better insoles for the shoes.

Just like the photos. DM for the person who doesn't want to look too hipster. My 10Ms are a little narrow though. I'm hoping with wear they will conform to my feet.

The shoe is very attractive and would serve multiple purposes. However, the sizing is a little odd. The 8 was too big, the 7 too small. And in both, the side of the shoe is high and has no cushioning so it rubs against the ankle.

These look awesome, but they were not at all comfortable. Felt super narrow and pretty unpleasant. That's unfortunate, because they are some dang good looking shoes. I wanted to like these ones a lot!

I've worn Doc Martens for years and these are by far the most uncomfortable pair I've ever owned. The UK 9, my usual Doc Martens size, was too small in this shoe, so I had to move up to UK 10. I feel like I've got extra room in the toe and heel but the center of my foot feels squeezed on the sides, as if the shoe were too narrow. I waited three months before writing this review to make sure it wasn't a question of breaking in the shoes. They're just uncomfortable and feel nothing like the "AirWair" shoes they've made in the past which feel like you're bouncing on air. I actually dread walking distances in these.

Look great, but VERY uncomfortable. Gave me bad blisters on both heals when I wore them, and feels like walking on plywood. I returned them.
