I have had this bag now for more than a year, (since late 2016). It has been all over Latin America, (Guatemala, Chile, and ALL OVER Mexico), India, Spain, Caribbean, and of course all over the US. It has been used as a carry on as well as being checked. It has been on planes, trains, buses and yes, automobiles too. I rarely leave home without it. Because it is so lightweight, it can be packed inside my regular bag to give me an extra bag for things I pick up on during my travels. For it's small size, it carries an amazing amount. I have used this bag for a week long trip (along with a small day pack) and I had MORE than enough space for everything! After so many miles, you may wonder how the bag looks today? Well, it has a fews marks on it from checked airline travel BUT, is in VERY good shape and is packed for my next adventure as we speak. Please Eaglecreek, don't ever stop carrying this bag. I recommend this bag everywhere I go as I am asked about it often.

Use it for my gym gear. The two end pockets are very handy. The handle at the top gets used a lot. Also when going away for a few days it is the perfectly right size. One end pocket fits an extra pair of shoes. I put a red ribbon around the top end handle to make the bag easy to spot. There is also a ReboundTag with a bar code attached.

This bag was exactly what I was looking for! Great travel bag. It packs about a weeks worth of clothes and is about carry on size for many airlines. It has loops that I run staps through to secure it to my motorcycle, it's water resistant, and lockable. When I get to the airport the backpack straps are great! Some chest straps and additional compartments inside would be cool but this does a great job for the price!

I use this bag for everything - the gym, rugby practice, weekend trips. It's great. Big plus is that it packs down into the side pocket. My only suggestion would be to add a chest strap for when using it like a backpack.

Very durable and tough with lots of storage space.

I like the design that it can be folded into a stowaway bag. I will be using it for the first time in a few days and a little unsure if I can carry it onboard. The dimensions and volume are within the allowable carry-on measurements; but after stuffing it, it looks bulky. Has anyone encountered any problem with this as a carry-on bag fully stuff onboard?

This review was written before any heavy use.... I love how this duffel folds into itself making it a travel accessory. Often on longer trips, it's strategic to depart light and return heavy - thus a duffel like this comes in handy. The shoulder straps allow it to function as a backpack giving it an extra benefit as a 'personal item' carry on to your 2nd bag.

"I'm in love with this bag" was my daughter's comment after years of searching for the perfect carry-on bag. The Eagle Creek Cargo Hauler Duffel 45L has everything you need and nothing extra. It's well constructed, easy to pack into its storage pocket and has good labeling on the outside of the pocket so you won't mistake it for another miscellaneous stuff sack in a box of stuff sacks.

Love it! Super light yet it can hold up a lot of clothes. It will not add too much weight to your carry on especially if you will be bringing it to an international flight. I will be using it a lot this coming vacation season.

Purchased for my two children. Perfect blend of styling and function. Colors are great. Straps could be a little more comfortable and would like a shoulder carry strap option. Other than those minor tweaks, this bag is perfect.

I have both the 45L and the 60L. These are fantastic! I can load them up and they are comfortable to wear as a backpack. All of the handles are comfortable and thoughtfully located and the interior is very roomy. The end compartments are useful for storing easy to reach items and it is extremely lightweight!

Use as a workout bag. Has plenty of room for bath towel, change of clothes and the end pockets are large enough for stowing items like headsets and other personal items. This bag ends the the search for the "ultimate" workout bag. I use the handle on one side to sling the bag over the shoulder while walking in the gym parking lot. Very comfortable.

I love this bag and may order more. I ordered it for my son who travels quite a lot from his teaching location in Korea. It's perfect for him since it's collapsible, light weight, can be a backpack, and I loved that it folded up into itself in a little zipper pouch since I'm taking it to him. The color choice (green) is exactly what he always looks for so I liked that there were more choices than just black and blue colors.

I enjoyed carrying a lot less this past trip!

We bought 3 Eagle Creek Dufel Cargo Haulers for our kids to use as carry-on's for our summer adventure to Grand Tenton and Yellowstone National Park. They were perfect. They fit what they needed for the week and were entirely manageable for them. It made the whole airport experience a lot easier for us. We would highly recommend.

Perfect size, weight and storage capacity for my new cadet reporting to West Point. Loved that he was able to carry like a back pack. Made lugging it around much easier.

I got this bag for my son to be sure to fit in the overhead on any airline. He loves it. Holds a ton of stuff including his computer. Easy to carry on his back. We looked at alot of bags. This one was exceptional.

We bought what we thought was this same bag last year for a trip to Africa. The limitations on luggage are very specific when traveling in small planes. The last version seemed to be much larger even though the dimensions were roughly the same. Hopefully, this one will be easier to carry, the old version was a little awkward. Nonetheless, this will work well for another trip to Africa and small shorter trips. Quality is very nice for the price.

I use this bag daily to transport things to and from work. I typically carry lunch, gym clothes/shoes. It's much bigger than what I actually need but I love it.

Another great bag! I love my older version of the No Matter duffel,but sometimes that shape can be cumbersome in certain situations. The new cargo hauler duffel has more of a rectangular shape and with the side handles it carries like a suitcase. With the pack it system I have packed it for a 2 1/2 week cross country van trip with no problem. Slick looking and water rolls off the new fabric. I am hard on my gear and it is daring me to put it through the ringer...not to worry I have and it performed like a champ! Affordable, consistently well made with no worries ,so just pack the thing and enjoy the journey you and your bag will take!

We were restricted to luggage with very small dimensions that could fit as much as possible and still weigh under 13 pounds. Our trip had three small propeller plane jumps inside fabulous Tanzania. The bags could not be hard shelled and had to be easy to carry. Enter the Eagle Creek Cargo Hauler Duffel into the picture! My wife and I each bought one and had no problems carrying them as backpacks. That allowed us hands free travel for our camera and binoculars.

I love the U openning, the side pocket and the cabin format I use it for everything : purchase, sport travel . It miss removable accessories like a Belt strap and chest strap

Would purchase this, and matching 120 L rolling duffle, if it were resized to adhere to standard US carry-on restrictions: 22 x 14 x 9 (45.4 L) - OR EVEN BETTER - to the broader international size of 21.5 x 13.5 x 7.5 (35.7 L). The duffle's stated dimensions and capacity do not match. Please add a shoulder strap option instead of backpack straps.

Got this for my son for airline travel. He loved the bag. Everything is perfect except the fabric in the side pockets were very thin and ripped after the first use. It has No Matter What Warranty so I'll be returning for repair or replacement.
