These are comfortable right out of the box! They are a little wider across the toe so there is no break-in time needed. The leather around the ankle area is supple for comfort as well. And most importantly, they're are cute!

I bought these a few months ago and put them on, decided they were too stiff to break in right away. This morning I decided today was the day to break these in and to my surprise - they aren't stiff at all and like my other El Naturalistas are comfy and cute and look great and make me happy even walking all over NYC.

These are very comfortable, toe box wide enough to provide space for front of foot for all day of walking. I like the rubber-type of soles - helps keep me from slipping. Fit so well they almost feel like wearing slippers! Eager to buy another pair!

I wear a woman's US 5½ and have very wide feet. I prefer the look of the Yggdrasil, but the El Naturalista representative told me that the 36 would be too big. So I ordered the Nido in 36 by her recommendation, and it feels a tad long but not enough for me to return them. The width is also a bit snug with winter socks, but I think they will stretch with wear. The insoles are very comfortable, and I love the rubber outsoles. However, the ankle part of the boot is pretty stiff, and the left boot rubs just above my ankle that makes me have to wear longer, thicker socks to prevent chafing. They are also a little troublesome to get on with the narrow entry, but I do like the look of the narrower ankle once on. The inner leather lining adds to the difficulty in getting the boots on, but I think it helps keep my heels from slipping once on. With some time to break in, I feel that these problems will lessen, and overall, these are warm and comfortable to walk around in. The style is more conservative than I prefer, but it goes so well with so many different outfits. I just have to make sure that I do not wear them in heavy rain or snow as the leather is not weatherproof-treated.

I am a very comfort oriented person, comfort is beauty in my book. They were ultimately too uncomfortable, even with my Smartfeet insoles. I am an 8-8½ with wide feet. My feet measure 9½'' long and 4¼'' at its widest point across the ball. I have been finding that I fit more comfortably in an 8½ or 39 UK (especially if I am planning to wear thick socks - which I am because it is cold in the pacific northwest). So I bought a 39 in these. There was plenty of room once I switched insoles and all, but the boots were stiff in the ankles and felt clunky. For the price, they should feel like I am walking on clouds. My friends had to convince me because I was really trying to love these boots.

I am writing a second review after I've worn them for a much longer period. The top of the left boot that kept chafing my outer ankle got worse because the stiff leather bruised that area. So I had to buy heel inserts, and that solved the problem. Now, however, I've created a gap in my arch area, but the ankle part no longer rubs me in pain. When I tried them on inside for some time when I first got them, I never had any issues until I chose to wear them on long walks outside. The right boot never had problems, so I think that the left boot was made defectively. Also, a much lesser annoyance is that the whole outside of the right boot leather is "pebbled" and the left boot is all completely smooth. You can notice only when you look closely...

Beware, designed for ladies with tiny ankles. I felt like my blood circulation is cut off. Very tight and I don't have fat ankles. Returning.

I am returning this shoe. From the reviews I was looking forward to a soft, comfy walking shoe. Though it looks soft this shoe comes rigid. I think it would take quite a while to break it down. I wear an 8 1/2 and it was too tight. If you are going to order this go up in size.
