Excellent, true to size, minimal design. I like sneakers that are sleek with good arch support. I do not like big chunky sneakers so these are a perfect style for me. I use them for weight training at the gym and walking around New York City, I even comfortably climbed a Mayan pyramid in Mexico with these sneakers the first week I bought them. Very happy, good shoes, throw them in the washing machine if they get dirty, they air dry quickly.

I love these shoes! This is my second pair and would highly recommend. They run true to size .and are extremely comfortable for walking and working out. My trainer tells everyone they're perfect for training in the gym.

They take a little getting use to, but these are great shoes for hiking and the gym.

I really wanted to keep this shoe, BUT it is truly a barefoot shoe. I was looking for a running/walking shoe. There was no cushion, even though it did feel fairly supportive. I wear a size 6.5 or 7 (I have normal heel and wider ball of foot). In this shoe, the 6.5 was perfect. I loved the color, the style, the fit and, if the price were less, I would have kept it just for running around town instead of an athletic shoe and hoped that maybe I was wrong on the comfort level of a barefoot shoe.

I was looking for a light weight trainer that would go from indoor to out. This is a great shoe! It's stylish and has a big comfy toe box. I wish the sole was a little softer, but for what they were designed for I understand.

I was surprised by the fit on these. I've worn a few different pairs of barefoot-style Merrells, and this pair felt a lot narrower through the midfoot than I was expecting. The toe box was sufficiently wide, but I found it constricting around the middle of my foot.

I have these in 11, all out blaze aero sport in 11, and trail glove I in 9.5 men's...these are too big to wear, blazes are slightly too small, and the men's tg are slightly larger than the blazes and are my everyday shoe. I should have exchanged these for a smaller size but for whatever reason I never got around to it. (After some considerable pregnancy foot swelling I was glad I didn't because these were the only ones I could even put on...barely) I like the style of these but like the fit and flexibility of the trail glove better. These seem more narrow and rigid.

Super comfy, except the arch support, which is pretty high, is way forward, hits the very front of my arch.

I was really excited about these sneakers until they showed up. They're a little busy in the print, but that wasn't really a deal breaker. They fit in length and width, but felt like I was walking on rocks. The bottom of the shoe is so stiff. Had to return.

My first time trying zero drop shoe. I would have kept these except the arch support is way too high for someone with flat feet.Very uncomfortable.

I love Merrell's, and so this was a compulsive purchase for me because I wanted a fairly stylish athletic shoe. However, I didn't like the loose mesh feel of the toe area and how it made my feet look pretty wide. Am returning for another style - - Merrell, of course!

It can be hard to find shoes that fit on my feet - narrow heels, wide forefoot plus a bunion on just one foot. These are lightweight, comfortable right out of the box, and I don't feel like I am walking out of the heels. I like these better than the prior version - the prior version worked but these fit a bit better - so I have ordered a second pair to have when these wear out. (Still missing the original Pace Glove though!)

Very attractive, lots of room in the toe box, which is soft and flexible. The arch is (too) high, and the sole under the heel is very thick.

A little unusual looking. I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 usually. Barefoot, I'd need an 8, with socks the 9 is good. Very lightweight, but good support. Surprisingly comfortable.

I have been wearing Merrell Barefoot since they first released them- I waited months for the first running shoe. I am in the long list of people feeling saddened that Merrell seems to be moving away from the barefoot movement (I was absolutely over the moon with their entire line of Barefoot... which is so tragically reduced to nothing). Running in their Pace Gloves literally changed my life; I went from fallen arches, to having an arch, muscles in my feet, better stability and no more knee pain! I read the reviews for the new Glove and decided to go for the Bare Access instead. Overall, I am pretty happy; the colors are great, the materials are heartier than I'm used to but still pretty flexible. The only issue I have is that they put in more of a firmness on the inner arc on the instep, and now I have a wicked blister. This has never happened before. I hope that it won't continue to be a problem. I want to say again to Merrell- don't leave us Barefoot runners without these awesome options. I love the zero differential, it has changed my running for the better. Please don't abandon your hardcore fans now!

Absolutely love the look, fit and feel of the Bare Access Arc 4. However, the sole edges are coming unglued after only 1 Year of use, knocking what would have easily been a five star rating to a four.

Unfortunately, the light arch support in this shoe didn't work for me. After wearing the New Balance Minimus for about 6 years, my feet can't tolerate any arch support anymore - it leaves my arches feeling sore and strained for days. Otherwise it's a cute shoe, light and good for those with feet on the narrow side.

I'm trying to replace a couple pair of Merrell hiking shoes that have been discontinued. These aren't exactly, but close. They run a half size smaller than the other 6 pairs of Merrell shoes that I own however. There two weird things about this shoe. They do not have a insole that is removable. They also have a crease in the forefoot of the sole that I find gives less stiffness than if it were a solid sole. I'm going to reorder and try them.

This is the descendant of a shoe that actually was better in my opinion, starting with the color/design-- these are louder, which I don't like; the others had a more sedate color scheme. But still, I kept these shoes because other brands in this type of shoe fell short, for me. Merrell is a winner in the majority of their shoes.

I am happy with my minimalist shoes. This is my second pair and in my mid 40's, minimalist seems to work for this aging body. I run on roads and trails and they seem to hold up on all running surfaces.

My pair from last year was comfortable but this set pinched on the arch of my foot. Don't know why, but I did return them. Generally speaking, from last year's purchase, the style had enough room for my wide width. Not as delightfully free feeling as Merrell's old Pace Glove (which I sure wish they would bring back!).

I love the Merrell Arc series and have four pairs with another on the way. The key benefits are that they are very lightweight at approximately six ounces. There is zero drop (aka differential) so the shoes are easy on the ham strings. The toe box is generous but not too wide. They have generally attractive styling and color. There a few changes that would make these shoes completely awesome, and I hope that the company will make these changes in the next iteration. Waterproof them. Bring back the Bare Access Arc 2 which had great performance and was a much better looking shoe. Bring back the black / silver combination which is much better looking than the current combinations, Bring back the heel loop which makes it easier to get the shoes on. Use longer shoe laces because the current ones are difficult to double loop and often come loose during exercise.

I had high hopes for these as the last pair of Bare Access shoes I purchased a couple of years ago needed to be replaced. The style of these shoes is great, but unfortunately there is a little too much arch support and it makes the arches of my feet hurt.

I have been wearing the Bare Access Arcs for years now. I just ordered the new Arc 4's and have been wearing them for about two weeks. They are pretty similar to the older models except they stink horribly. I don't know if I got a bad pair but I never had this problem with any other model or other shoes that I wear. I'm wondering if they changed their anti-microbial formula.
