I have several pair of Columbia shorts. I wear a size 4 in other columbia shorts and other brands. (5'6" 128 lbs) These long shorts were to tight all over to be comfortable. Its hard to understand why the same size in different shorts can be so different for the same company. Seems like Columbia sizes are all over the place. I am very disappointed.

Purchased 3 pairs in size 2. Every pair fit differently. One too big,0ne to small. Thankfully one pair fit well. They are nice shorts, but sizing is all over the placeð???

Photo did not match the shorts. Legs were not as long as photo. Loved the zipper pocket however, zipper pocket too small for passport.

Amazing , if you're looking for comfy and quality those are the right bermuda . Nice fit . TTS.

Way way way too tight in the waist. I ordered the size 16. The shorts fit well true to size except for the waist. The waist fit like a size 12, I kid you not! Extremely small waist.

SUPER SMALL! Don't trust the "size chart". Ordered "my size" according to the size chart and couldn't even get them buttoned. Will be returning

So, other reviewers are correct. These run VERY small. I have size 8 in 2 pairs of the Saturday Trail pants, but the size 8 in these Saturday Trail long shorts was super tight. I tried a size 10, and they are far too loose. There seems no Goldilocks size here. I have several pairs of Columbia pants, shorts, and capris purchased in the past 3 years, and I've noticed the sizing vary widely, including within the same style. It can be frustrating. Otherwise, when you get the fit right for you, Columbia pants/shorts are absolutely the best. I dress up my Columbia pants a bit to wear to work, but I can also wear them to physical therapy. Very versatile.

These shorts run small to size. But the WORST thing is the size of the pockets.. cell phone doesn't fit well at all. Would not recommend

Not cut for a female with hips. Cut very straight and snug.

This company USED to be my company. I am brand loyal to a fault. They are losing me fast. You can't order anything without trying it on anymore. I have been so disappointed!! The sizing all over the charts. I end up keeping the stupid things that don't fit right rather then pay for the shipping back. You can't even be sure the replacement up or down will be right. I order 10, they are too big, I order 8 they are too small, I order 10, they are too small. I'm giving it one last go with these shorts. Still upset about the pants that I didn't realize the zip pocket was not sewn closed until after I had worn them a few times. The quality is definitely headed down hill. It upsets me because for 15 years, I have been brand loyal. LOVED these clothes. I would still buy if I can get my hands on them at an outlet. They are just nowhere near me sadly.

A 10 is too big and an 8 too small. Doesn't seem designed for normal women's bodies.

Very disappointed in the fit of these shorts. The biggest issue I have is where the waist hits.. which is several inches below the waist. If you have any tummy it hits in just the wrong place where it creates a big muffin top and is quite uncomfortable. I have several other like styles of Columbia shorts that fit much better.

I have several pairs of these and started with a size 10. They were made smaller 2 years ago so I am now a size 12. This time I ordered 12 and cannot button them! Its not me...

I am so done with these shorts - the fit is completely different from the Sat. Trail crops/ knee pant. And the fit is entirely different from what it was 5 or 6 years ago. Fits like a yoga short. No more of these for me. Size up 2 sizes.

I have other Columbia shorts in size 4 that fit well; saw that these run small so I ordered a 6. They are SO small - couldn't even get them to my hips! I wish they were consistently sized with other Columbia products! Too bad because I loved the color and material.

Unless you have no curves at all these shorts run way too tight. Not smart to make woman size up. Go at least a size up. I'm a size 12 and the 14 is snug but ok. The fabric is not as smooth as I thought it would be. Also, the zip pocket is pretty small.

I did not see the description saying mid-rise. Have to return them.

Fit on these shorts not as expected. I am 5'3" and 122 lbs. they were too snug fitting and cut to low in waist. They were returned.

Unfortunately these run extremely small and the legs are super tight. I have other pairs of size 6 Columbia shorts that I love, but I can't even button these. So sad.

Shorter than I expected; these also seem to run small

I'm looking to buy some summer shorts for hiking the AT Trail. I like the length of these, but where are the pockets? Women have things to carry too. When hiking on the trail, I like to keep things in cargo pockets that are easy to get to if I need them. Things like knives and a compass are a must. I don't want to spend all day digging through a pack or even a day bag just to find little things I need. Why are all hiking pants for women being made like tights and skin tight biker pants with no cargo pockets? Shorts and pants like these aren't made for a hiker...especially one in the mountains. Maybe these women can hime around the Mall or their suburb? I'll keep looking for some functional hiking clothes.

I did not read the reviews on these shorts before ordering so I ordered my usual size - a 4. They were so incredibly tight in the legs that they fit like leggings. I’m not sure a size 6 will make enough of a difference so I’m not bothering to order them. I have some Columbia tops and skorts but not any shorts. I have not experienced the issue with the very small sizing in any of the other styles that I own. As another reviewer stated and illustrated with a photo, there’s definitely something very off about the fit of this style.

I own 3 pair of these shorts (purchased in previous years). Ordered two more colors in the same size. One was ok (snug but will stretch) but the fit of the second pair was almost a size smaller.

So...ordered the fossil colored pair. Love the material! Quick dry, kind of stretchy. Super comfy. Fits well through curvy rear and hips. Even flattering from the backside. But - the deal breaker? A serious case of camel toe. Ack! I also bought a pair of the Take Me Anywhere shorts, and they don't fit like this. Maybe just my body shape? Maybe the darker color helps hide it? At any rate, I'm bummed to return these, but I just can't get beyond that particular fit quirk. Yikes.
