My quest is for pants that are lightweight and quick-dry for travel; I was especially hoping for something that would be convertible for super-minimalist packing. I ordered Prana, Marmot, and Mountain Hardwear. Along the lines of a previous comparative review that I found helpful, I will paste this same review on each style I purchased. Prana Halle: i like the idea of the waist drawstring to help take up the gap in the back, but in practice (just from trying on) am not convinced i've figured out how to make that work. as a result, the much vaunted flattering fit does not flatter on me. the thigh zip pocket does fit a passport (US or EU). front pockets too shallow for real use. my calves would presumably get used to having the inside dangling straps ready to roll up to capris, though they are disconcerting at first. Prana Halle Convertible: basically same pant, but with zip-off legs instead of roll-up. i wish the zip were above the knee rather than below, though i suppose one could roll them up from there. or, wish they didn't seem to flare out at the calf when zipped off. simple to zip on/off (some brands have finicky zippers; possibly relevant that this one's got slightly coarser teeth?), and the facings on both sides of the zipper still lie flat enough to not annoy. Marmot Lobo's Convertible: i LOVE that these can do long pants + capris + shorts. front pockets are big enough to use! R thigh zip pocket is big enough for my minimalist wallet. rear pockets secure with a a little rectangle of velcro, so they're low-profile with no pocket flap but also there's a bit of raw velcro to guard fine fabrics from. waistband a better fit for me than Prana, with less gap in the back. thigh zipper line does feel noticeable at first when sitting, less when standing. a little tricky to get zipper started to zip legs back on; for me it seems easier when standing. elastic loops a bit tight for the capri buttoning; i expect they relax a little and/or you get used to them. the fabric does rustle a bit when you move, and on me the joints of the zippered facings swish against each other a little when i walk. Mountain Hardwear Dynama Pant: love the light weight of the fabric, comfortable stretch waistband. the nylon seems prone to static? at least here in the tail end of New England winter. have read other reports that this fabric pills fast and is not durable; hoping to escape that with just casual wear.

Cute, casual, comfy pants. Fit was pretty good. Main problem is that the fabric is so thin, it shows any bit of cellulite and panty lines. You can see every body bump through the fabric. Also, the cinch at the hem would be cuter and more useful if it were on the inside and outside of the pant leg, not just the outside.

My go-to 3 season hiking/backpacking and everyday casual wear pants. Pros: --the elastic waist (works well wearing a backpack because there's no chafing from pressure of pack on a belt and they slip off and on easily while wearing a pack for quick pitstops on the trail) --colors (even the "blurple") are neutral enough to coordinate with just about any color shirt, richly hued and don't fade so they also work well as off-trail wear. --fabric repels water, dries fast if soaked, breathes well, resists wrinkles, is practically weightless, and is stretchy comfy. --adjustable length. I'm 5'3" with shorter legs and longer torso. I have these pants in the 30" inseam and the 32" inseam. I prefer the 32" scrunched up slightly with the tie. The 30" feels too short, but they're okay in the summer with flip flops. --pockets that function, but don't look like cargo pants. Cons: --the fabric stretches out with wear. At the end of a long day sitting, the rear gets baggy so they can look sloppy after a long day of traveling. --the thigh area is too big. I'd prefer a slimmer/more fitted cut. I own all last year's colors and they still look good after wearing, washing, and hanging to dry practically daily all last summer and fall. I just bought the Indigo Blue (a gorgeous, deeply rich color that gets compliments from strangers) and the Blurple (a unique eggplant shade that works with lots of other colors). Highly Recommend!

Awesome pants! These were intended for outdoor adventures and traveling. I wanted to find a pair of pants that were light and comfortable for activities such as hiking, camping, and everyday wear that were not yoga pants. I have worn these hiking numerous times, although they will not keep you warm once the cold weather hits, more for summer/spring as they are very thin. I am about 114 lbs, 5'4, and pretty slender. I opted for a size small with the 32 inseam. The waist band is stretchy. They fit perfect on the waist and not too snug, but movable. I also like the feature of being able to crop the pants to your ankles with the cinch. I'm picky about pants and I love these.

The pants are very cute and stylish. I gave them a one overall star because the material has pilled so back, I can't wear them out of the house anymore.

I'm an avid outdoors person and these are perfect for hiking and climbing. As other's mentioned, the inseam choices are great since I returned the reg length for short. Of course Zappos is the best for returns (Thank you Zappos). One of the best features of this lightweight pant is that there is no tie or zipper so works really well under a harness and no hassels when wearing them hiking or just around. Also, super cute when cinched up.

This is my fourth pair of MH Dynamo pants. I absolutely love them! Wish they came in tan or beige because I'd order those, as well. They are great for hiking or just wearing casually when it's warm outside. They are also perfect for traveling. They look more polished than leggings or sweats, but are just as comfortable.

The best part about these pants is that they are lightweight and long-lasting for backpacking and hiking through the bush, but also flattering and stylish enough to wear anytime. Have I mentioned how comfortable they are? I slept in mine the first time I wore them, and didn't take them off for two days. I immediately bought a second pair in an additional color, which I have never done before. I also never leave reviews, so I hope I get the point across that you won't be sorry for making this purchase.

I'm a big fan of Mountain Hardwear tops, but don't have many of their pants as I need a long inseam. This pant comes in various lengths, so good for all heights. The pants are super comfortable, like a lightweight soft pair of medical scrubs. I will definitely look to buy more colors if/when they're available. I'm 5'9" and 150 lbs. The large size in 34" inch fit great!

I have two pairs of these pants and absolutely love them. I have many more pairs of hiking pants, but often just wear these to run to the store or go for a walk. They fit perfectly, and I love that there's nothing restrictive at the waist. The only improvement I would recommend is perhaps a pull tie at the waist for when the elasticity is not as good. I wish they were available in a beige/khaki/tan color. I already have the green and grey. These are definitely my favorite hiking pants!

I’ve purchased these twice- they’re comfortable, stylish and easy to pull on and off. The first pair I had... I sat in tree sap and it won’t come out- so they are now work pants. Really nice fit for pear shaped women. I ordered a large. Typically I’m a large or extra large, or a size 12 to 15- primarily due to being pear shaped.

Perfect fit. Wore my usual size xs(5’ 3, 112 lbs.) my third pair so they must be comfortable. Fit much better than the Columbia which gave me an unattractive muffin top.

I took these out of the package to try on and ended up leaving them on all day. They're so comfortable. I love the purple color and wish I could find them in that orange color they had. I got the Large, Regular Length. I'm 5'8", 170-180 lb and they are more than long enough. They even drag on the floor when I'm barefoot. I think they might be just a teensy bit big but only a problem if I were to lose like 10 lb (which I'm planning). If they don't have Med in stock, I'll spend the $$ to get them altered.

I wasn't totally sure about these when I first tried them on, but once I wore them for a little bit they relaxed and took on my shape. I got them to wear at work as a massage therapist, and they are amazing! Not that we're all massage therapists here, but I was impressed that they stretched with me while mobilizing clients, they showed no sign of staining at the end of the day from my products, they seem to breathe well, and then I wore them on a hike after work. It's mud season, and amazingly I brushed the specks of slop off the bottoms of the legs and then went to the grocery store. Seriously comfortable and cute, and I kind of used them for everything the first time I wore them. I'm long-legged, and the medium long is plenty long enough, whoot! They have a rouching detail on the bottom that lets you scrunch them up if you choose, and that is both super cute and functional. I might need to get another pair. They did seem to pick up a little dog hair when I snuggled my pups (it's spring, they're shedding, no matter how much I brush them), but they seemed to clear when I took them off and gave them a good shake--the pants, not the dogs.

I love the original Dynama pant (size xs, regular length) fits me perfectly (5'2" 107) and the Washed Rock color is a nice warm pinkish color without being too girly. Since Mountain Hardwear doesn't seem to be making the original Dynama pant anymore and I don't like the way the Dynama/2 fits me (bigger waist, sits lower), I snagged this pair and am happy.

Where have you been my whole life? Just enough stretch to not stretch out after wearing all day. Just enough rise to not make my butt like a foot tall (I hate high rise). Just enough length so I can still wear sandals and not trip. Quick dry for outdoor activities. Lightweight for our southern lifestyle. I have 2 pairs of the pants and 3 if the shorts. I'm in lovvvveeee.

Most comfortable pants ever! Very nice material that is smooth and comfortable. Very nice flat waist band. Flattering. Can be used for most any season. I don't think I will use the little cinch to make them shorter, but I like the regular length. Highly recommend this pant for hanging around the house, doing outdoor adventures, or even going around town.

My favorite pant for rock climbing outdoors, especially in hot and humid climates. Very comfortable and lightweight. They pack easily and travel well. The fabric is more durable than I expected and the adjustable leg comes in very handy. I rolled mine up above the knee for a breezier hike in and out!

True to size and perfect fit. I especially like that you can chinch the legs to adjust to whatever length. These pants can be dressed up or used for hiking. Very versatile.

These pants the best hiking pants ever. I *never* find pants that fit and these fit perfect, no alterations needed. I'm 5 ft. tall, 110 lbs., short, athletic legs and small waist. Finally outdoor apparel companies are making more elastic waist pants. These fit nice and flat and will be perfect under a backpack -- no bulky snaps, buckles, belt loops or anything. The fabric is super soft and stretchy. I also bought the shorts and bermuda shorts. I'm going to wear them hiking, to work, weekends -- everywhere.
