Perfect for walking off groomed trails - woods, grass, mountains. Hiked 4 miles in a torrential downpor of 3+ inches and my feet were the only dry item when I returned. Suggest using mink oil waterproofing on leather.

This is a good comfortable casual or work shoe. I've worn them several times in wet conditions and me feet stayed dry each time. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

This is a quality shoe. Leather, stitching, and where the welt meets the body of the shoe are all first rate. The impact absorbers make it a comfortable shoe to wear. Using a product similar to Obenauf's Leather Preservative - you are ready for the trail. The only draw back is the insert. It is only adequate. See your orthotist for proper insert arch support.

I have the same model at a higher boot style, but needed these for the Summer. Tried them on, walked around (on carpet half the day) and even more comfortable than the boots. They will work out fine. Zappos' service is great, as usual.

This is really a 5-star shoe all around. But I gave "Comfort" only 1 star because the shoe did not feel like a 6E. After a few minutes of test-wearing, my toes began to go numb, indicating not enough room in the toe box. In all fairness to this shoe, though: I have a very wide foot, a high instep, and hammer toes! So getting a toe box that works for me is very difficult. If you don't have the issues that I have, I'd recommend buying this well-made, stylish-looking shoe.

Excellent shoes for casual and light work as well and they feel very supportive as well. This my second pair of Dunhams and both are excellent quality.

My husband found the 4e extremely comfortable right out of the box and could not wait to wear them. He is still enjoying the fit of this shoe and it is a slimming look for wide feet.

Awesome pair of shoes!

I work in an auto manufacturing facility where I walk or stand on concrete for 10 to 12 hours a day. The shoes feel awesome- straight out of the box from Day 1!!!!! I'm a Keen fan, and now I'm also a Dunham fan. I rotate shoes every other day and I'm sure another pair of Dunhams will be purchased. Size runs a bit smalller, next time I'll 1.2 size up.

This shoe is the best I have found to support my feet for standing all day

Very good quality, comfortable shoe. Have worn on rainy days and keeps feet dry/warm. I've bought Dunham in the past and this shoe will have me return to the brand next time I need something in their lineup.

Hubby has slightly flat feet. These are so supportive he got a pair in every color! He can walk all day in them.

I wear a 14 EEEE - not an easy size to find, and not easy to wear because I also wear custom orthotics, but this pair of shoes is one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever walked in. I amy need to change laces because these do come loose toward the end of the day, but other than that, my money was very well spent on these shoes.

I found that the roll bar heel support was way too extreme. Some may need that, but I think it would damage my feet/ankles. That’s a shame since I really liked the shoe otherwise.

I took a tip from a customer who was having the same problems I was with New Balance which I have been relying on for years as they have always been the most comfortable for my hard to fit feet. Seems that NB have redesigned thier shooes and I have had to send many back because they were too narrow especially at the to. The customer recommended this brand as an alternative and now I am sold on this brand. I am an 8.5 4E nd these shoes fit perfectly--plenty of room all the way around and their construction seems superior to NB. I will still order some running shoes from NB, but this will be my go to walking sneaker as they can be worn with jeans or casual dress and pass for shoes. Very high quality at a reasonable price. Hard to finf these days.

I took a tip from a customer review. He was having the exact same trouble as I was having with New Balance sneakers which I have relied on for years due to the comforatble fit--when all other brands failed. New Balance seems to have rediesigned their sneakers and I've had to send quite a few back--too narrow especially at the toe. They used to be wide at the toe which is why I always ordered them. In all fairness some of the runnung sneakers fit, and some I had to send back. I even ordered two pairs--diffrent colors but same exact style, and one pair fit and one didn't. Go figure--NB isn't what it used to be.I especially relied on the NB solid black sneaker because I could wear them for work intead of shoes and they could pass for shoes but were much more comfortable. Long story shore-the customer recommended switching to Dunham as an alternative and I followed suit. The shoes arrived today, in solid black. They are nice and roomy (8.5 EE) and very well constructed, high quality. The bonus is that they while being sneakers like NB, they have more the appearance of shoes than NB did. I plan to order a bunch of different colors and say Bye-Bye to NB, at least for a walking sneaker. It was a great run.

I always thought I wore a size 9 or 9.5 shoe in standard width. Had my feet measured and discovered I am actually a 10.5 narrow (B). Then the problem was finding shoes offered in this size. Thankfully I could quickly search on Zappos to see my options. Wow. These Dunham Exeter Low Gore-Tex Waterproof shoes are the perfect fit for my feet. As others have said, these feel good right out of the box. Little to no breaking in period required. The leather is very soft for comfort and look better in person than in the photos. Dunham shoes are made by New Balance, which I’ve been told are the only tennis shoes sold in a narrow width, so that may be my next purchase.

I've had these shoes over 1 year and they are GREAT. I am usually hard to fit with a 14 Narrow or "B" width. I also have very FLAT feet. They are very comfortable, sturdy and rugged. Also good for the water resistant.

These shoes look great! However I am in need of a Wide width, and these only come in medium.

Very comfortable. Wish Dunham would offer the 6E width in more shoes they make. As always Zappos was ridiculously easy to deal with....
