I've found the Futura 42 to be the perfect travel companion, small enough to use as a carry on or a daypack by using the compression straps yet big enough to hold essential gear and a couple of changes of clothing for multi day use. Awesome ventilation and suspension system. I have even made it my sole piece of luggage for European travel and day hiking when paired with half cube packing systems. You can find lighter bags that give up comfort and carrying features but the slight weight penalty is, in my mind, worth the payoff in comfort and durability.
