These are a downgrade from the Dyad 7s. Hard as a rock ! I bought 3 pair of 7s as I usually go through shoes every 4-5 months. Huge Disappointment as I loved the Brooks Dyad 7s. The 7s felt like I was walking on clouds...these I felt were immediately harder and way less cushioning. The arch support I did feel was an upgrade and the shoes fit my wide (4e) feet very well. The style is also an upgrade from the 7s but I'll be sending mine back as I'm on my feet 10-12 hours a day. I will always give Zappos 5 stars on their customer service though - ordered on a Friday afternoon and received on Monday. They are always so so good about customer returns as well - Zappos is the only place I shop.

Very disappointed in the Dyad 8. The Dyad 7 was the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Ever. I had two pair and wish now I'd bought more, as I can't find my size anywhere now that the 8 is out. Like the Dyad 7, I needed a full size and full width larger than my normal size. The similarity ends there. This shoe is lighter, with cheaper materials, and not as good looking as the 7. Most importantly, the cushioning is not as good, nor the general fit and feel of the shoe. No 'hug' around the mid-shoe, and too much air space across the top makes for a sloppy fit. When a particular shoe is is known for its cushioning, marketed for its cushioned ride and people buy it for that reason, it seems counterproductive to reduce the cushioning. As for the cheaper materials, it's the same old story, isn't it. These are going back. Going to check out some Mizunos, thanks to the remark made by another reviewer. According to Mizuno, their Wave Prophecy3, Wave Creation 15 and Wave Enigma 4 are the most similar to the Dyad 7 for neutral platform, heel/toe drop and cushioning. Just passing that on.

No idea. That's what I'm trying to find out now.

As many reviewers said before, the Dyad 7's were much better. I have wide feet and thus why I go for the Dyad 4Es. The 8's seem to be more durable as they last longer than the 7's, but the tradeoff is that they used harder materials and thus lose out a bit on the comfort. They definitely seem more durable, but I don't mind buying more pairs of less long lasting shoes if that means they are more comfortable on my feet. Hopefully the Dyad 9's, when they come out, would be a happy medium.

What happened to Brooks? I must have gone through at least 5 pairs of Dyad 7's with total comfort and no issues. I ordered these new Dyad 8's in 11 2E, as I had for Dyad 7's and could barely get them on my feet. I returned them for 11 4Es and found that the toe box was wide enough but the heel was so narrow that it literally caused bruises on my heels. I have given up on Brooks and have moved to Mizuno. I am very thankful for Zappos' excellent customer service.

I really liked the feel and soft cushion insoles. My feet were happy after a day on the concrete floor.

I own a pair of the womens Dyad 8 and love them, so I bought a pair for my son for gym class. He is very picky about shoe comfort, and his opinion is that these shoes are the most comfortable shoes he has ever worn. He wishes they came in bright wild colors though. His feet are hard to fit, and he is wearing the 4E width.

I am a woman but love this men's shoe. Is nice and roomy in the toe bed. And my orthotics fit perfectly deep enough so heel does not slip. Foot surgeon recommended brooks because it has stiff sole but cushy feel.

I bought this and my toe went through the fabric on the top of the shoe in 10 months. Got a second pair, the store rep told me this time put duct tape inside the shoe it would come loose with in a week. Toe wore through in less than a year, the tape program bought me a couple extra months. Brooks shoes manufacture would not do anything to make things right.

Have really bad feet! Major foot surgery and bone spurs in heel. Went to get special insoles made and Dr. told me to get these Brooks tenny shoes. Awesome! Feet are in Heaven!

I like these shoes. I have low arches and tend to over-pronate a little, so the straight-lasted design is a great fit for me. They are pretty comfortable, although the interior seams are a little bumpier than ideal and sometimes cause minor discomfort.

Simply stated, the best shoe I have ever owned. I keep trying on other shoes, even other Brooks shoes. Only the Dyad 7, which has been discontinued, was as good.

I'm not sure why this shoe is getting such low ratings. As a big guy I've always had a hard time finding shoes that both fit and are comfortable . I wear a size 14 EEEE. The Dyad 8 is by far one, if not the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. This was my first pair of Brooks as I have been a long time Asics man.Not anymore. Just bought 2 more pairs of Brooks. These shoes are great. Do your feet a favor and get them.

I have owned these before and this time bought them again plus the Saucony Echelon 5 in EE. I had to return Brooks and get a 4E instead a EE width. They run narrower than the Saucony. I have worn the EE before so I am not sure if they have changed a little or Saucony just runs wider than the size.

This is my first pair of Brooks shoes in a while. I had been buying New Balance for the last few years to support their "Made in the USA" shoe's; however, they no longer make running shoes for underpronators such as myself in the USA, so I compared the Dyad 8 to a comparable New Balance Produce. The Dyad has a more snug fit (width) than the NB shoe, but it felt more connected to my foot. If you like a looser fit, try a wider size. The Dyad has great cushioning and the construction looks top notch. Brooks shoes that I've worn in the past proved to be very durable so I hope to get a few more miles out of these shoes than I was getting from NB. I'm vey happy with the shoes during my first two weeks of daily walking/running.

Great shoe. Period. I supinate (roll outward) and Dyad 8's do a good job improving stability. But I have arches made by Dr. Frankenstein--the right arch is closer to my heel. Running shoes have a lot of arch support--not good for me. Ergo, the Dyad 8 isn't a comfort shoe for power walking for me. Again great shoe in every other way.

I'm 72 and walk on a treadmill daily. I have exceedingly high arches and wear painful calluses on the balls of my feet. Hence, I wear neutral shoes. I've worn Brooks Defyance and Ghosts and several Nike Lunarglide (4's), which are most comfortable and cushiony, but are a bit narrow. Reading several others' experience with Dyads, I gave them a try. These are really comfortable shoes. Plenty of cushion, and a luxurious liner. I may well order a second pair in a few months just to insure that I have another pair when these need replacing. Other reviewers suggested this model runs a bit short and recommended ordering a larger size that normal, so I ordered a 13 and a 14 from Zappos. I'm keeping the 14s and will this week return the 13s. Zappos has been my "life line" over these past several years. What everyone says really is true; unparalleled service. I ordered these two pairs of shoes at 10 p.m. on evening, and they arrived on my front porch by 1-2 p.m. the NEXT day! How do they DO that?

I am a big guy (6'3 250lbs) who walks 5-6 miles daily. I have been wearing Brooks Addiction and Brooks Beast for years and recently switched to the Dyad 8 as I wanted a more neutral shoe. I find the Dyad is very comfortable, lighter and, like the Beast, has more cushioning in the insole. Walked 5 miles the first day with no issues.

I recommend the Addiction and Beast also.

I love Brooks brand, usually get the "Walker" type but wanted something beside the black, white, brown shoe. These fit wonderfully with this note: I usually wear 12ee but ordered these in 12eeee to get the same fit.

I was hesitant to buy this shoe after seeing the negative comments of others that liked the Dyad 7 better. I'm glad I went ahead and bought the Dyad 8! Fits great, fantastic support and no issues. Very happy customer.

My third pair in the "Dyad" series. Fits good, albeit the upper feels quite stiff while putting it on. I use an AFO in the R shoe, and an orthotic on the L. Both fit inside pretty well.
