Full disclosure I wanted Canada Goose but it was absurdly expensive. I bought a NF precipice because I liked the look. It wasn't as warm as I was looking for. NF suggested I buy this to use as the liner for the precipice. I did. This jacket as the liner for the precipice is very warm. I love this jacket on its own merit too. Looks good, very warm, nice fit. And even with the precipice + nuptse I'm still way under Canada goose and I basically have 5 combinations of jackets.

I still have the last one I bought probably 12 years ago, I really wanted a lighter color this time and the old one is reserved for chores. This is the only jacket available from anyone that is a true athletic cut XXL with room for a sweater.

I use it as my go-to jacket since I live in a cold area. Perfect for almost anytime except maybe wet conditions. One good thing is that you can pair it up with a Triclimate Jacket and get good warmth as well as all weather proof jacket.

Sharp jacket that is very light and very warm. The down does a great job in the cold weather and wind here in Michigan. I like that I can zip it into my triclimate shell if I want to also.

This was the second time I ordered this coat. I purchased one for my husband and then one for my son-in-law. I have the 700 in two colors and they are the warmest coats I own.

Excellent jacket! Very lightweight while still being very warm. Its so light you can barely tell your wearing a jacket. Went snowshoeing the day I received it and was extremely comfortable all day.

I had originally purchased a North Face Thermoball Triclimate jacket to be used as an everyday winter coat. However, wearing it for a few days I was concerned about the warmth of it in sub 20 degree F temps. It seemed fine when in motion and active, but to just stand in the cold (like at a football game) it wasn't warm enough. However, I loved the color of it. Because the triclimate is a 3 in 1, I contacted Northface chat support and asked if I could just get a warmer liner for it. I was told that they don't sell warmer liners per say, however, the rep told me that Nuptse Jackets were zip in compatible. What?!?! It was a perfect solution. The Nuptse jacket is quite puffy and super warm. I got it in the Black Ink Green Quasar and it's very stylin'. I've gotten lots of compliments. The "green" is very subtle and I'd say from a distance the jacket looks exclusively gray. As soon is it arrived, I zipped the thermoball liner out of my Triclimate and, as promised, the Nuptse, zipped right in! It even has the little clips at the end of the sleeves. The advantage of this you might ask? The outer liner of the triclimate is waterproof and wind resistant. The Nuptse is not. So, if I know rain, sleet or snow is in the forecast, I simply throw the outer liner on over the Nuptse. Own both of these products also gives me a little jacket variety with essentially 4 coats in 2. A little pricey? Sure. But I plan on these jackets lasting me for several years. And if you can catch them at the end of the winter season you can get a pretty good deal.

I bought it for my boyfriend and he loves it. At first I ordered a M which ended up too short on the arms n trunk. I had to return it and got him a L which fit him great and he has space in order to wear a sweater under. He's 6'3", at first we took the medium because the website made the calculation saying medium would be better but it was wrong. I'm going to buy for myself the purple one for female since I'm a M I might take a L.

This is my very first NorthFace jacket I got awhile ago. After spending about 30 minutes in the NorthFace store in Raleigh NC, I finally decided to purchase this awesome jacket. So far it's been amazing. Total comfort, wind resistance, and comfortable are the biggest words to describe this jacket. I'm relatively new to this name brand but this is my second purchase.
