As advertised, these are very warm and waterproof. Today it was -2 degrees with snow, and my feet were toasty warm and dry. I bought them to wear with snowshoes and think they will be perfect for that, but they are also nice looking so I wore them around town today. Good arch support, easy on and off. Great boot, and great service from Zappos, as always.

I bought several pairs of boots and decided to keep these. Pros: comfortable, not bulky, zipper, seems to have good tread, plenty of room in the toe box. Cons: the tongue gusset only goes up to about ankle height, these boots are not particularly warm. I needed a pair of boots that had good traction, were tall enough I could tuck my jeans into them, would be comfortable for walking the dog and could serve as snow boots. It's a lot to ask out of one pair of boots. My main concern is good traction while walking the dog, because he sometimes pulls and is very strong. I wore these boots all day today, working in the cold. My toes got pretty cold even though I was wearing decently thick socks. I went a half size up and that was a good move. I typically wear a 9 in everything, but have found for boots I need a 9.5.

After trying Sorel Joan of Arc (too clunky) The North Face (I felt like Frankenstein) And Keen (whuch were the next runner up but I didn't like the faux fur) I decided on the Ahnu. They feel like tennis shoes and keep your feet warm. For a girl with skinny ankles and narrow calves these are great. The zipper on the side makes taking them off fast and easy. For once, I don't mind the snow. Zappos service was the best, as always!

This boto was not my first choice as many others were sold out. I'm so glad I got this one, my favorite Zappos purchase to date. The boot is very warm, waterproof and comfortable in long/active use. It is also very attractive and have received many compliments on it with skinny jeans. We have been dumped in snow this winter in Michigan and this boot has not let me down once. Great traction and does not rub the back of mt heel like other boots I have owned. LOVE this boot.

Fabulous boot! Lightweight without compromising warmth and an attractive sleek fit... I wear a 6.5 or 7, and the 7 fits me perfectly with room for a heavier sock. You will LOVE these!

I love these boots! They are super warm, waterproof and incredibly lightweight. I also love that they have the laces as well as the zipper so you can quickly get them on and off but still can adjust them if you have to. They also have great traction for icy roads and trails. The arch support is also very good. Can't say enough, worth the money.

I absolutely love these! They are cute, comfortable, and warm. I think it's great that they are not bulky. Everyone that sees them loves them too. I hope they last a while.

These boots are super warm. It is rarely bitter cold in my neck of the woods but since I am a cold pansy who is fully, miserably cold if my feet are cold I wanted these for my chilly office and frequent forays outdoors. At first I thought that for a southern winter or extended periods indoors these are almost too warm - my feet would sweat then get clammy and cold but I did a little experimenting and it turns out that the right socks make all the difference. Ironically, a heavier sock snugged up the "wiggle room" I'd had and my feet stay comfortably toasty without getting sweaty or clammy even indoors or on 50F days. The arch support is okay on these but wanted a little more so I added a drugstore arch support insert as well and now they are as comfortable to wear all day as my running shoes. They are truly waterproof and the zip / laces combo allows for a comfortably custom fit for whatever socks, pants, arch supports, etc. you'd like to wear with them. I highly recommend these boots.

So far so good! I've been wearing my boots for about three weeks. Every day they getting better, I mean they're getting used to my feet. They were little stiff at the beginning. Didn't have a chance to wear them in the snow yet or in a very low temperature, but so far my feet have been nothing but nicely warm (have hard time keeping my feet warm in winter). They run thrue to size.I would recommend them!

These boots are great! So comfortable, so warm and I received 2 compliments the first time I wore them out.

This is a nice light weight yet substantial boot for snowbanks. Convenient zipper lets you slip in and out easily and the lace up is great for adjusting width (I have a narrow foot and the 9M works). I have room for thick wool socks, which adds to the warmth factor. It has good tread and walks comfortably without feeling too heavy or clunky. And it's waterproof!

Fits true to size. Can wear a medium to heavy sock. The best feature is the laces to tie tightly, but a zipper to remove them easily. Lightweight, and seem warm and waterproof (haven't worn them enough to be confident - time will tell).

These boots were lifesavers this winter. Once I took them out of the box, I feel like I didn't take them off until, oh, last week (April). I might even put them on now to walk the dog in the rain. They are very roomy in the toebox, but it allows for thick socks to be worn comfortably. I debated going down a size, but stuck with it and it worked out. These boots are as light as sneakers, and while my feet were always warm, they never got too hot. While they aren't as stylish as other boots I looked at, the combo of laces and a zipper makes for a custom fit no matter if you're wearing them over leggings or under jeans. They were also sufficiently waterproof to keep out slush and snow throughout this vile Northeast winter. I love them.

I LOVE these boots. I was in search of a warm, lightweight, but sturdy winter boot and these do not disappoint. Super warm yet stylish. I have shoveled snow in them, walked around NYC and all over, never sacrificing comfort or style. I love the easy lace up front so you control how snug they are on the calf. Excellent traction on the sole. Worth every penny!

I love these boots! I searched for over a year for a pair that felt good, looked good, and would keep my feet warm and dry in a Wisconsin winter. Finally, I have found them. They are not heavy, clunky boots, but rather something you could wear all day and still look stylish. I really like the way you can use the laces to get the fit just right, but then use the zipper for quick and easy on and off.

These have an extremely comfortable, cushioned sole. They are lightweight. I love the zipper on the side but tie front. These are the best snow boots that I have ever owned. And I have gone through quite a few!

After trying so many pairs of winter boots,that I'd lost count, finding these Northridge boots was amazing. They are waterproof with e-vent inside and have a waterproof zipper. Just for insurance, I sprayed a coat of (e-vent safe) suede & nubuck water repellent on to protect the outside. I've just been out in Chicago's first winter snowstorm of the season. I guess the weather is paying us back for being so mild this year.There are drifts up to the top of these boots that I walked through to get to my car. I'm happy to say that my feet stayed warm and dry. No snow came into them at all. I just hope those drifts don't get much higher, or I'll be needing gators and a snowsuit! These Northridge boots are comfortable and have the advantage of both zippers and ties to adjust the fit. They have arch support and comfort technology. The only downside is that by the time I'd ordered these boots, after sending so many back, the color choices were limited. Grey wasn't my first choice but they will be great for winter in every other way. Thanks Zappos for your patience and help with returning and ordering so many pairs of winter boots. These look great and are fantastically functional (lightweight, side zipper and the laces make the leg size truly adjustable). Unfortunately I have to return them because they dig into my ankles. I wear a size 39 and ordered the 9, which fit perfectly with a mid-weight sock (but for the ankle thing!).

I really looked a long time for boots that would 1) stand up to Chicago winters and 2) not make my feet look like a Sasquatch. This turned out to be the one. It has the snazzy lace-up look, but goes on and off painlessly with the side zipper. The base is really solid and, as others have said, feels like a heavy running shoe. So it's comfy, with great traction. I got the black so it won't get too messed up after slogging through the dirty slush. Very satisfied with this selection.

I know they are two totally different styles, but when I compared these boots side by side with The North Face Anna Purna High Rise, these Ahnu boots did not seem as warm in the toe area (where I need it most). Also, I ordered both boots in the same size, 6, and these Ahnu boots were slightly bigger than The North Face boots; they slipped slightly in the heel as I walked. For reference, my dress shoe size is 5½, my running shoe size is 6½, and I tried these boots on with both lightweight wool socks and cushioned wool socks. The boots seem sturdy, and I like that they have both laces and a side zip for convenience. I might have kept them if they fit me better.

I had tried these on in a store and loved them. Got them shipped to me and put them on. The shoe base itself was comfortable, but the seam running up the inside of my ankle to my shin was downright painful. Very disappointed because they are such good looking boots! So sending them back.

Found these to be very stiff, plastic like feel. Lightweight but in a cheap way. I'm used to Keens and Merrells, so to me these are like boots you would buy at a discount strip mall store. Just didn't like the construction. They were fairly comfortable but just couldn't keep them for the big money they are. Can't comment on how warm they were because I never wore them.

I have Ahnu shoes and these were oddly more narrow across the toe box than any other pair. They were cute and lightweight but a much more narrow cut than other Ahnu shoes and boots!

Looked pretty, although much of the upper was dark green not black (I liked it but some might not). Fit length-wise was true, but they were too tight across the bridge of the foot for me, so I'm returning them. Probably a great boot for someone with narrow feet.

It felt like my feet were in hammocks woven of pure joy. But part of the boot hit my right ankle. I really wanted to fall for these boots. Never wore them outside, cannot speak to the waterproofness. Very cute and sneakery, light, hit me at an unattractive place on the calves. I am well endowed in the calf area. Soccer. But I didn't even care they were wonderful the short time I wore them in my apartment. Good-bye my sweets.
