Hoka shoes are definitely different than your average runner, but for those looking for max cushioning, this is the one. It doesn't come in wider widths, but it doesn't need to. I usually wear EE width in a size 13 because I have large feet and these feel plenty wide. May be a little goofy looking, but for a cushioned runner they definitely foot the bill.

Best shoe ever for high mileage runners. This is my fourth pair. The Tarmac version is also nice but gets slippery when running on a wet road. These Stinson Trail Hoka's have great traction for a variety of surfaces. The cushioning really helps on downhills to save your quads. I just ran a 50+ mile Ultra and didn't get a single blister. My feet felt great.

Started running about 18 months ago. Bought a pair of Nikes - everything hurt. Researched shoes and was told that for flat, wide feet this is the shoe. Have worn them out and am getting ready to buy my second pair after 3 warrior dashes, 4 5ks, a Tough Mudder, 2 weeks on the AT, and a half marathon. I am a heavier runner with flat, wide feet. If you fit this category do not buy another shoe. I know they are expensive so are doctors.

The thick sole is one of the newer "Maximalist" running shoes. They just didn't fit me right, however.

I am 6"2", 180 pounds, athletic, normal arch. These are the best jogging shoes that I have ever worn. They have cushioning that I have never experienced before, they provide excellent lateral stability, great support and snug feel. Zappos has absolutely phenomenal customer service. It is my number one stop shop for all wear.

This is my second pair of Stinson trails and I love them! I have had four knee surgurys in my lifetime and if not for these shoes there is no way that I would be able to run. I just completed my first half marathon in June .

These are my 4th pair of Hoka One One Stinson Trail. I run on exclusively on trails, approximately 45 miles per week. Pros: The cushioning is exceptional, and really does make a positive impact on my joints, and comfort level, especially during long runs. When you factor in that you get way more miles out of a pair (700+ versus 400), they are very cost effective. Cons: The only negative is that the toe box is somewhat narrow, and the shoes do not come in different widths. I overcame this issue by cutting back a little of the overlay stitching. Overall yes...they look a little strange, and the first time you wear them, it feels like you're walking or running on a pillow...but I quickly became hooked, and now I am a firm believer in Hoka One One.

OH MY GOD - amaazziiing shoe! Never seen anything like it. Uber cool styling and the soles are so cushiony comfortable right out of the box - just ridiculous - I am pinching myself to see if it is true! Now I hope they will continue feeling this awesome while running. They feel substantial and well made --- not heavy. Wish [1] the tongue was longer so I could grab and adjust it easily [2] add a gentle rise inside to support the arch.

Love the cushion, support, fit! My wife tried them on, then ordered a pair in her size. We both run X-country together in our Stinson Trails.

I suffer from really bad plantar fasciitis. I've been through hours and hours of physical therapy, steroid injections and two surgeries. I am now wearing a new pair of Hoka One One Stinson Trails. I LOVE THEM! It feels like I am walking on clouds, but with support. These shoes are AMAZING! If you have ever suffered from plantar fasciitis or other high arch related difficulties, do yourself a favor and try these shoes. Simply amazing.

I had ankle replacement surgery and needed a cushioned shoe. I tried on every name brand shoe I could find and was unable to walk. The pain was too extreme. My sister told me about Hoka One One and I tried them and started walking 3 weeks after surgery. They are like walking on air.

Just recently ran my 2nd marathon I had some ankle and achilles injuries earlier January and could not run or walk due to swelling decided to try the hoka's and found I had so much support and cushion that I was able to progress to running fairly quickly. I use the Jeff Galloway training program, I am 5'6 200lbs and not fast but these shoes and Jeff's run/walk/run allowed me to reach my goals which were unattainable with my other shoes. These shoes do look bulky and are a little heavier than my Brooks but the support is superb. The shoes do wear but worth it. I have had plantar fasciitis in the past and wear sofsole fit low arch supports because the stock inserts don't support me enough toe box was a little shallow but the new Stinson Trail upgrade is wider. Cheers - run safe.

Had severe persistent hip pain and was training for a 1/2 Iron Man and a Marathon -- a training partner I trusted mentioned these so gave them a shot -- they look a little different, but I could care less because I'm faster and feel better than I could possibly have hoped for! These shoes are incredible!

I have been looking for a New Balance 1123 replacement. The New Balance 1540 is the replacement for the 1123 and it just doesn't work. Having worn New Balance running shoes for many years, it has been difficult to find a good replacement. In searching, I found this relatively new company, Hoka One One. WOW! I found that our local REI carries the Hoka One One and went over to try on a pair. I wear a 10.5 medium in woman's sneakers or a 9.5 medium in men's sneakers. After trying on the Hoka One One all I can say is double Wow. These shoes are the best in comfort. However, the Hoka One One Stinson EVO Trail and Tarmac run small. I ended up going with a full size larger than I normally wear. Once I had my feet in the correct size, the feel was awesome! It's like walking on clouds! By the way, I am not a runner but have always worn running shoes because of support and style. Once you have the right length, you won't be disappointed. Hoka One One shoes rock!

Great shoe! I purchased these to use to stand at work. It allows me to stand most of the day without my knees or back hurting any longer! I have another pair that has allowed this 55 year old to continue to run daily also! I had formerly run in Asics for years and they are good shoes but these are in another league with regards to cushioning. Good fit nice generous toe box. Seems true to size. Would recommend highly to anyone especially those with running related chronic knee or foot issues also.

I have been ordering many shoes prior to these ones. I received them today and must say that are so soft and stable. I have wide feet but these felt true. I ran two miles with no pain and I just ordered another pair just to have them. I cannot believe that I have not shopped on Zappos before now, the customer service is great! And when I was sent back other shoes that did not feel correct it was free! If you do nit have a pair of Hoka shoes get them now. The next day delivery is awesome!

These shoes made it possible for me to run again! Arthritis in my big toe has made toe-off challenging in regular shoes; I end up supinating and have had ankle, IT band, and hamstring issues. The Stinson Trails, with their great cushioning and rounded shape, allow the shoes to roll naturally through each step, despite inflexibility in my foot. They are extremely comfortable for heavier runners and are absolutely fabulous on the trail. I am tempted to stock up with 2 or 3 more pairs in case Hoka Hoka changes the shoes! My only wish is that they came in different widths. With my long, narrow feet, I have to tie the shoes so tight that you can hardly see the tongue.

For those of us who are a little older (late 50's) and have suffered from age related knee and/or ankle pain, and who still want to remain actively engaged in some form of regular 'forward motion' exercise, I highly recommend these shoes. I have been a long-time runner, and am now relegated to being an active fast walker, due to bad knees. I recently had meniscus surgery on both knees and was concerned that my days of 3-5 mile morning walks were over. But then I discovered Hoka's! I have had these shoes for about a month now and have had a remarkable turnaround in post-walk joint pain...my only regret is that I didn't find these shoes 20 years ago as I might still be able to run comfortably today! Also, as always, Zappos service is the best, by a wide margin. I ordered these shoes from my local running store and after two weeks, finally canceled the order and ordered from Zappos...got them next-day as promised.

I'm a heavy marathoner and have been using these on my long and recovery days. I think they have really helped save my feet from some of the road pounding during this training cycle. They are heavier than the shoes I usually wear, but not terrible - comparable to a traditional running shoe. The cushion is fun and worth trying on a pair if you get a chance just to feel the bounce. They make downhill running a lot more fun. I wouldn't say these are the silver bullet of running shoes, but they certainly have their place in my equipment arsenal.

These provide the best underfoot cushioning I've found anywhere! I usually go with wide size running shoes but these feel great! Build quality, venting and comfort are top notch - exactly what I was looking for - will buy again for sure!

These shoes get a perfect 10. I have had them for a very short period of time so far. In this time - I can tell you that this shoe is without question, the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. No doubts in my mind. The cushioning and construction of the shoe is why this is not a "cheap-$" shoe. You are paying for a Ferrari and you are going to get a Ferrari to put on your feet! I am very interested in seeing how they hold up to the outdoor elements, as the construction is very good, and everything else is top-notch. I am hoping I get some good life out of them and that's something right now that I would not be able to possibly rate due to length of time owning them. If you do nothing else, buy a pair and try on - once they go on your feet - if you had any reservations like I did about paying a little bit more - that will go out the window - you will keep them! The difference between this pair of shoes and a $100 pair is the difference between night and day.

I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot. The Hoka One One Stinson Trail combined with my own inserts have really eased the pain of the injury. They are great. I highly recommend them.

I was skeptical. I've been an avid "believer" in the minimalist movement for some time now. However, after struggles with achilles issues I decided to do something radically different. The results have been fantastic! The best way to describe the feel of these shoes, is that it's like walking barefoot across a wrestling mat. Before these shoes, I could barely run a mile without experiencing pain. Now I'm logging 20+ per week. These are the best running shoes I've ever owned. As for performance: (1) they feel awkward on a treadmill, (2) they're amazing outside (especially on downhills), (3) light weight, (4) plenty of toe box room (I have wide feet), (5) very comfortable (unlike my other running shoes, I wear these for both running and for normal daily wear).

The most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. My feet are large, flat, wide in front with bunions, but normal heel width. They fit all areas of my foot the moment I put them on. I could wish for a bit more arch support but otherwise perfection, so I bought a second pair for work!

They take a little getting used to. I sized up to fit my orthotics and it took a good 2 days of all day wear to settle in. They are REALLY comfortable. I am a RN on my feet all day and I fitness walk about 30 miles a weeks. These are rock stars! The only bummer is that now I don't want to wear anything else. They are thick. I am 6 feet and in these I am 6'2".
