It doesn't seem like Levis are what they used to be. The fit is fine, as usual, but the material in these jeans seems lightweight and flimsy. Next time, I'm going for Wranglers at 1/2 the price
I'd also recommend:

Has Levi's just recently made a change (in the last year) to the fit and quality of the 501 s.t.f. line? I bought 2 new pair around October of 2012, and both pair feature a new logo on the waist band. It has a slightly lighter shade of red ink, the horse team logo is less detailed and the lettering has been rearranged slightly. Is it just me or does this cheaper looking logo reflect another recent drop in quality to further increase profit margins from the once iconic quality brand? I'm an old school Levi's fan and have continued to wear Levi's since I was a teen in the mid 70's. I get it, fashion changes and even the 501 line has seen minor fit changes over the years along with a drop in quality of the denim used. Yet I keep coming back because everything else just doesnt have that classic look. I'm just not into the pretentious, fake looking, pre-stressed look of jeans today. I have several slightly older pair of the s.t.f.'s purchased 2008-2011 and all of them fit the same. They aren't the quality of the past but I still like them more than any other wanna be classics out there. My last 2 pair ( purchased Oct. 2012) however, seem to be of a lesser quality denim, fit tighter in the upper thigh, and are just uncomfortable to sit in. I washed them all in cold water/hang dry and used same lengthy break in process. Did I just get unlucky with 2 pairs in a row? My instinct tells me no. I guess now i'll have to begrudgingly concede to looking like a poser in some other brand. If you too have noticed a change, please share it here. Maybe we can talk some sense into the company. (Levi's). As always, Zappos rules!

I bought two pairs of Levi 501 STF jeans. At first glance, these seemed like great jeans, and shrunk as suspected by about 2" in the waist and length. I really enjoyed these jeans for about the first 3 months, and then they started falling apart. Both pair of jeans the crotch wore and blew out, and on one pair the rivets at the pockets popped off. These jeans are falling apart after only a couple months of wear. I have washed them about three times each. These jeans are not quality, and will not hold up. I would not buy another pair.

The Indigo denim is great! Unfortunately, the fit of these is just laughable. The butt has way too much material, and it will bunch on you and ride up your crack. I remember avoiding Levis as a kid for this very reason. It's unfortunate, as the unwashed denim is very high quality.

I ordered two Levi 501 Jeans. Both pair shrunk two inches in the waste and length. I donated them. These are not orginal Levi 501 jeans.

Levi's shrink-to-fit are the only jeans that I wear. I ordered two pairs: my usual black, and this indigo. The black was as expected, but side-by-side, the indigo looked like a knock-off: single stitching down the legs, makeshift hems, etc. In general, these are still great jeans. And Zappos' service was great as usual. But just FYI on the indigo...

Levi's have changed to the point that I am done with them after 30+ years. They are thinner, the stitching is not what it used to be and the cut is different. This does not affect my opinion of how great Zappos is.
