My last pair of court shoes were Nikes, size 10.5. In the Barricade 8 I wear a size 11.5, in th 11 my big tea touched the end. They are amazing court shoes, superb grip on the hard court, amazing stability, and great arch support. I am an over-pronator (flat feet) so I need good arch support. These are fantastic. I use a Superfeet style E insert in them. They have more room in the toe box than I would choose, but I've come to appreciate it because the support and control is so good. There is moderate pressure on the top of my feet from the laces, but this downside is way overshadowed for me by the fantastic support. Also remember I use a Superfeet insert, so that raises my foot in the shoe a bit. Overall, I am very happy. I'm getting into better position for many shots because the court grip is so good, makes me a little faster and more sure footed. Great buy on sale, too!

Have played with Barricades for many moons now, and thought the ordering of this shoe was just a reload of past experience. Instead this redesign is largely a disaster where the upper part of the shoe seriously digs into your front ankle. Unfortunately this is not obvious when trying them on, and only really evidences itself when playing. Ultimately the shoe is unwearable and at this point unreturnable. I would very much advise people not to buy it.

These shoes are great. I've become a semi recent convert to Adidas, and these don't disappoint. As with other pairs, these fit well on my wider feet, something that can be a real challenge with other brands. As for other reviewers' complaints about discomfort from the shoelace eyelets or tightness in the midsection, I haven't experienced anything of the sort. I will say that these were a little stiffer than average right out of the box and did require a little longer break in period than average, but other than that they've been great. I find them super comfortable, and I get questions & compliments on them all the time. I really couldn't recommend them more.

I love these kicks! I will definitely be looking for another very similar pair when buying my next pair of shoes! Well worth the price!

Bought a half-size up and having no issues with the eyelets or toebox. If you use a custom orthotic and/or wear two pair of socks when you play tennis, then this shoe is great if you go up a half-size. You'll be rewarded with a very stable yet light shoe, with some of the best traction you can find anywhere. Great shoe!

As a "lifelong" Samba wearer, these are a little rough on the ankles as they're very high (compared to the Sambas). Great grip and they look pretty cool.

I have used Adidas since I was 7 years old. For soccer and for tennis. This one is okay but not as good as Barricade2. Biggest problem is there is no 2 holes on top of the last lace hole. Because of that it is a bit tight around ankle (I can imagine how some people have problem with it). It took me about 10 hours or playing to get comfortable in them. That is a bit too much for me but I was thinking after 7 years of Barricade2 I was not able to get them any more anywhere I had to change. It was a bit of painful change. I think that they made this one a bit too stiff.

I ordered this shoe for my son and he immediately told me that he was having pain in the arch of his foot. This shoe wears out fast, and simply has little to no arch support. I do not recommend buying this shoe for yourself of your child.

Echo the comments of several others re the top of the eyelet run cutting into the ankle. Have been a strong Adidas fan for years; 4 pairs of Barricade 2's, 2 pair of 5's, but I fear the relationship is ending. The Barricade 7's were plain uncomfortable, and the 8's, even though they felt great right out of the box, drew blood on the top inside of my ankle after only an hour of play -- fortunately I had brought my old shoes to the match and had to change. Ended up buying K-Swiss Glaciators. I see that Adidas has now brought the 5 back to the market, so I sense an awareness that they have a problem with the 8's.

I concur with what other users had said about the upper eyelets cutting on ankles. I've been a long time user of previous Barricade shoes but the Barricade 8 feels awkward on the ankle and too narrow on the arch section. I can train for hours with my Barricade 7 or Babolat Propulse without issues, but after just 2 hrs with the Barricade 8 I got blisters on the arch and cuts on the ankle.

Difficult to break in and has a hot spot on one shoe that is very uncomfortable. Have to wear two pair of socks to avoid blisters in that spot. Worn for a few months now and still not broken in properly.

Don't buy these. The top inside eyelets slice into my ankles, leaving me with open wounds. At first I just thought I had to wear them in, but I'm long past that point. A search of shoe forums indicates that this is a common problem. Adidas customer service unfortunately not particularly helpful in addressing the problem.
