I bought this jacket for my 5 yr old autistic daughter who would only wear an orange jacket. Thank you Columbia and Zappo's for having this in stock because I didn't know what i was going to do. My daughter is a sz 7 and after reading all the reviews went with the boys sz 8. It fit great and had extra room for a sweatshirt or sweater. Thanks!!!!

I bought this jacket for a 8 year old girl. It seems a little smaller than I thought, but it is okay because it is a girl. If a boy wears it, it seems to be one size larger.

I was looking for a winter coat for my 9 year old son, and luckily this one was available. It is not too heavy, he doesn't like heavyweight coats, so I have him wear a sweatshirt underneath. He's able to play sports in the playground at school and be comfortable enough to move around naturally, and stay warm enough.

Love this puff lite jacket it works for any type of weather and my little guy loves it!

This coat is not too bulky, so we don’t take it off in the car because we don’t have to adjust our son’s car seat straps. Yet the coat is warm enough for cold days and playing outside in the snow. Very happy with this purchase.

This is a great jacket. Columbia jackets for my kids always fit perfectly.

My son is nine and really enjoys sports. He spends the majority of his recess time playing football or other active games. We had a 3-in-1 coat that he was not consistent about wearing because it was difficult to move in. Now that he has the puffer jacket, he's excited to put it on because it's so easy to play in. It does a great job of keeping him warm since he's moving the whole time. I can't say how it would do if he were a more sedentary kid, but for him, this is a perfect fit. Our winter has been relatively mild but does tend toward the 30-50 degree range. He is 53" tall and weighs 67 lbs (thin frame). We bought the size M, which is 10/12. There's some room to grow, but he's not swimming in it. It's hard to say if it runs small though...

We've been purchasing Columbia coats every year for my kids one year we buy a puffer and the next a lighter coat (a size bigger) or viceversa so they always have two coats for the PNW winter. This is super light and comfy yet super warm. It's definitely our favorite coat ever from Columbia. The only thing that I personally don't like but my kids don't mind is the length it's a bit too long for my liking (it hits them around the crotch area) I got size large for both of them one is 12 and the other is 9 but looks like a 12 year old they are both around 90+lbs and around 4ft 8"

His is a great quality jacket and not too bulky. However be aware that it's definitley true to size, maybe runs a bit small by a tad. The first jacket we ever got him from Columbia was a rain jacket in the same xxs size and it fits slightly big which is great because we'll get at least 2 years out of it, however my large almost 4 year old this jacket fits him almost exactly. Maybe get a size larger if you're looking for it to wear for about 2 years. Great quality though!

I purchased this coat for my son, he really likes it, his first comment was "it stays dry and keeps the wind out". The fit and style are great, very happy with purchase. Need to be careful with zipper can catch material and get stuck. I would buy again, price was very reasonable, great quality.

Every item we purchase any item it is just perfect! Our kids love their jackets especially the fact they don't need to wear several layers of shirts and a sweater.

My 11 year old son loves this coat. He's very active and doesn't like a bulky coat. This coat is so warm, but not fluffy or restrictive. It fits very true to size. He's 11, wears a youth CL aim mist T-shirt's, XL pants. He's very tall and the L coat fits perfect and will definitely last the season.

I thought maybe it would have been thin but I bought it for my brother and he loves it and also he said it keeps him warm so that's good.
