I really love this bag! I am 40 years old, slim and 5' 3" and this backpack was very comfortable on my back. I was able to put my 15" Mac, 7" Samsung Note, 2 small skinny packing cubes with 5 items of clothing, jean jacket, some undergarments, pair of flats, and a small medium cube with my camera gear. I have a small OMD E-M5 camera with two lens and a slim canon point and shoot. If you have a regular DSLR camera, then it would probably take at least half the space or more, depending on how many lens you want to take. It felt light and secure to back as I walked around the Amtrak train station with my small carry-on. I will definitely be taking this to my euro trip in 9 months. The bag does taper off a little on the top, but this is what made it more comfortable. I used a small skinny packing cube on the top to make everything fit without falling apart when I open it. If you use small packing tubes or those skinny packing cubes like I did, then you will be able to fit more and be organized at the same time.

I watched the video review. He didn't mention what the little buckle at the bottom of one of the straps is for....it's so you can clip the strap to a chair or table while you're hanging out...so no one can just slip it off and make off with it while you're not paying attention. I LOVE this bag!

This was my personal bag on a recent flight to/from Italy. My laptop was safe and my other items were within easy reach. I also used it as my day bag. It was roomy and comfortable on my back.

Very well made backpack, excellent quality materials, with the added security of the Pacsafe security features. Comfortable, easy to load. A 15" Macbook Pro fits the interior pocket with or without a neoprene sleeve.

I like this bag a lot, but ended up going with the Tortuga Air instead. I wanted a bag that I can travel with internationally for a couple weeks, and this one didn't fit the bill for me due to the padded laptop bag taking up too much room (not bringing one) and the fact that it is round at the top instead of square, reducing room, and it doesn't open suitcase style making it more difficult to access stuff. Here's what I do love about it: great materials. Locking zippers. Slash proof. Fits a water bladder in the back. Just not great for weeks-long international travel, in my opinion.

About to take this on a real trip. Italy. This replaces an old Pacsafe pack with the wire mesh bag built into the inside which has worn out. This one is smaller, and I particularly like the light colored inside which will make it easier to find thing when on a plane or jet-lagged at destination. It doesn't have a keyring as specified on the Pacsafe site, but we will live.
I'd also recommend:
anything Patagonia. Most North Face stuff.

After checking at least 10-12 bags, I settled on this one just 2 days before my 6+ week travel. What I liked: I was worry-free as I carried this backpack. In the past, in NYC, my ID has been stolen on subways, but this time, traveling abroad, I felt more safe and secure while around towns. I used it as a carry-on and it easily packed my camera, laptop, travel docs, few accessories and a pair of jeans and shirt. The security features are amazing, incl. the slash proof shoulder straps, locking system (on zippers and strap), RFID safe pocket etc. Didn't like: Though it is comfortable to carry initially, after a while everything in the main pocket slumps to the bottom, thus putting burden/pressure on lower back. Slips in front pocket are very narrow and stuff just falls to the bottom. It would have been better if the zipper on the front pocket opened fully (does so on one side only). Conclusion: Overall, 7.5/10. Will continue to use it as a school/office bag & carry books, papers, laptop so that nothing slumps, but will keep searching for a good day pack.

The Venturesafe is sturdy, but I traveled with it for two weeks and it's very uncomfortable. I would exchange this if I could.
