After my favorite long-distance running shoe was "redesigned", I struggled to find a good replacement. Every shoe I tried made my feet/shins/knees/hips cry, and I just couldn't understand why it was so hard to find a good pair of running shoes. Finally, a good friend turned me on to Hoka. I was skeptical at first and let's face it, these are not attractive shoes (borderline ridiculous-looking, if you ask me), and the claims seem almost too good to be true. But they felt heavenly right out of the box. Could these be The Shoes? I have had them for a bit over a month now, and have logged well over 150 miles in them (including 18, 21, and 22 mile long runs), so I feel confident giving them two huge thumbs up. They feel incredible to run in, and I no longer care how ridiculous they look. I will be wearing them for my upcoming marathon (marathon #11) and will probably be ordering another pair soon so I can rotate between them next marathon training season.

I've been hooked on Hoka One Ones since 2011 when I did my first 50 mile trail race. My feet were killing me in my other sneakers, especially as I tacked on the miles. Since I switched to Hokas, I never feel bruised on the bottom of my feet. They are cushy and comfortable. This particular pair is the most attractive I've seen-charcoal with pink and white accents.

These shoes are super comfortable. You know when you were a little kind and tried on some new shoes, and they always made you feel like you could run faster and jump higher? Well these shoes took me back to that same feeling. I do not know, just something about them I had to have them. I can now run for long distances and not be bothered by the pain. And yes the shoes are a little goofy and big, but that is what makes them so nice to run in. I totally recommend you try these shoes. If you are a runner, you will not be disappointed.

These shoes are super comfortable, but this particular style made my very tiny feet look huge. They were too long and narrow and had an extra funky shape. I had the Mafate on and those looked and felt like a better fit. The way these Hokas felt was like some of the MBT styles that I have tried.
