I bought this to wear on our boat. have been looking for something that will stay on. My dermatologist said i needed one with a 4-5 inch brim and this fits the bill.

Wore this hat during our Mediterranean cruise stops. Good SPF coverage for protection in the hot sun! Larger brim that can be adjusted for preferred shape.

I loved this hat--the brim is quite wide and provides excellent sun protection. It is lightweight and dries quickly. Within 6 months, however, the strap broke. I retied it and it broke a second time.

Good brim, fit and drying. Only thing is the brown tie bleed on the hat

I opted for a different Pistil hat because the crown couldn't be adjusted. Still, I liked the hat because it is lightweight and has an adequate brim.

I like the hat and I would recommend it but I need to return this one to Zappos because there was no tag attached to it and it has signs of being worn by other buyers. I generally don’t mind it if it is lightly used but this one is definitely heavily used because the inside shows sweat stain.

Actually has a wired circumstance. So, it will crumble when set down in irregular shapes; but then it will flatten well in a suitcase. You can shape it when wearing. Fine in mild wind. Whole brim flaps up in stronger wind. Still have to hold on to it even with strap on. Brim thin, head cover. SbcWonder about sun blocking.

I like the size and shape. But the drawstring is flimsy and doesn't really hold so the hat flies off in the wind. Disappointing!

It is very convenient to fold the hat to travel. However, after one summer use, the bead won't hold the strap any more. The wind would blow it off due to the light weight.

I thought this hat would be an improvement on the one I loved, which you had stopped carrying (Item ID293944). I had loved that hat's substantial, stiff brim, which didn't flop in our heavy beach breezes. But the Pistil hat is a huge disappointment. The fabric is flimsy, the brim flops in the wind so it's no protection from the sun, and it looks and feels cheap. Please offer the other hat again!!

I thought this was made by LLBean but it's actually another company called Pistil (I thought LL Bean gave the style of the hat the name of Pistil). It is extremely light; so light that it lifts off your head at the slightest wind, even when I jam it on my head. The strap is fake leather and doesn't look like it'll last long. The brim isn't wide enough to cover your full face. I don't think it has the quality of LL Bean's products, and if not for the fact that I've worn it a couple of times, I would return and not purchase this again. If a product is not made by LLBean, they should note that in the description.
