I'd hoped this would be a good boot for skinny calves but unfortunately the calf on my size 6 was 13", which is wider than listed. The boots hit a couple of inches below my knee (I'm 5"2'). The foot bed seemed narrow (even though I have narrow feet) and the soles were very slippery. Ultimately, the boots were too wide for my slim 12" calves. I love these boots! I am short with small ankles and wider calves, and they are absolutely perfect. Because they stretch, they conform to both my ankle and calf perfectly. I have the black and will be purchasing the cognac. They ran large in the foot, so my normal size 7 works with room to spare for a sock.

I bought these and absolutely loved them from the first wearing. I think this boot would fit any size calf. I have large calves and have had a very hard time finding a boot that would fit me. This boot fits great and was comfortable from day one. I am also thinking about getting the black ones.

I am short (5'3") and have narrow calves. I was looking for boots to wear over skinny jeans that would not have a huge gap at the top or look like i was swimming in them. I tried on at least 15 different boots before finding this pair. They fit close to my calf, are really comfortable, and I have gotten many compliments on them too.

This boot is adorable and I wanted it to work but I couldn't even get my foot into it. I don't have wide width feet, ordered my normal size (8M) and couldn't even get them on! The leather was so stiff and unwieldy that it was impossible to force my foot in once it got to the bottom of the boot (I also don't have wide calves, the issue was definitely the opening to the bottom of the boot. So sad. They are going back.

These boots fit right out of the box. Stunning leather, very well constructed and fits perfectly. The leather is so rich looking. I am an 8½M and they fit perfectly.

Love this boots. I hope I don't wear them out.I have a slender foot and calves. Last year I had bought 8 pairs of boots to try. They were all to big. I was thrilled to have found this boots. The leather is beautiful, casual but sophisticated. I'm contemplating on getting brown ones.

I just got these today and straight out of the box they look amazing! The leather is such good quality with beautiful coloring. And the scrunch feature on the back of the shaft adds comfort and tailored look. I will note that the toe box seems a bit snug (worried I should have sized up one size) but I am thinking that they might loosen up and stretch with a bit of wear. I am 5'5" with a 15½" calf and these are a perfect fit on my calf and perfect shaft height. The sole is extremely slippery but I am thinking that as they get scuffed up a bit, that will improve. Great quality, beautiful, comfortable fit! I highly recommend them.

I love, love, love these boots! Super comfortable. I am 5'2 and have small calves and these are the only boots narrow enough to not look ridiculous.

I love these boots and can only hope that they never go out of stock lest I need another pair in the future. My calves are skinny (11 inches). So the ladies with skinny calves know what it is to live with them and find a pair of black leather boots that are versatile (work and leisure). These can be worn in any setting and look extremely sophisticated. They look the best over skinny jeans or jeggings and are as comfortable that you will forget you are wearing anything! They are narrow at the ankles (and need to be to fit narrow calves), so cannot be taken off with grace, however, that was the only downside for me and I am willing to live with it. Thinking of getting them in brown...

These boots are perfect if you want Frye boots that are snug, stylish and can be on the dressy side. I've always worn crepe or elastic boots from Donald Pliner or Stuart Weitzman because I liked the snug silhouette. However I really wanted a leather Frye boot and found most of them great quality -but chunky. I wear a 10 M and after two days of breaking in, these have working out great. They fit over my skinny jeans and I like them with a sweater dress and tights as well. Friends promised me that once Frye boots break in, they will become extremely comfortable and they were right.

I went out on a limb with these boots and I'm so glad that I did. There were not a lot of reviews on here when I bought them so I was a little worried. I wanted a flat riding boot, and I love the Melissa Button but EVERYBODY has those, so I went with these. I don't personally think I have large calves, but I sometimes have problems with boots and my calves. My calves measure 14.5 inches around and these fit fine. They are the first Frye's of mine that went right on with ease and it's because of the stretch part in the back. That is the part I was worried about looking funny or cheap. I love that part! I think it makes them look unique and it definitely does not look cheap. I am a size 6 normally. My Frye Harness 12Rs are a size 6, but I probably could have worn a smaller size in those. I also have the Frye Miranda Stud in a 5.5. I ordered the Melissa Scrunch in a 5.5 and the footbed was tight the first few wears, but feels great now. The cognac color is perfect to go with any color you wear. I am SO pleased with these boots!

I love these boots but the shaft circumference is much bigger than 12 1/2 inches - more like 14 or 15. Way too big for my skinny calves. I was so disappointed as I had my heart set on finding a pair of boots that would fit my bird legs.

After reading many reviews of these boots I decided to try them. These boots feel like they were made just for me! I have very thin legs and narrow feet so these boots are perfect! The circumference at the calf is narrow just like the description says. I purchased my size 9 1/2 and was happy with the size. I could probably have gone down 1/2 size but they might have been a bit too difficult to put on and take off. I wore them the entire day the first day I put them on without pains of any sort. They are very comfortable, soft, pliable and molded to my feet quickly. The leather is beautiful and they are made extremely well. The scrunch part is interesting; it's difficult to determine how the crafters have made this part. It's stretchy but made of real leather. I've had compliments on how beautiful the boots are. I wear them with skinny pants for casual as well as skirts to work. I'd like another pair in a different color. These boots are a dream come true for me since I'd been searching for boots that fit me for many years.

Truly the best boot I've ever own. I actually choose outfits just to wear them. I was nervous on sizing based upon reviews but went with my normal 8. I would not have wanted them any bigger. This boot is made for a smaller calf. I have been frustrated in trying to find a boot to fit snug, and this one fits the bill. I love them so much that I am even contemplating them in black.

I loved this boot but the foot is a little too narrow so it has to go back. I have several Frye boots and the 7 normally is perfect but this style is just a tiny bit too narrow. They really fit the calf great and I had no trouble getting them on and off.

The calves weren't as tight as I had hoped they'd be and measured at least an inch larger (on my size 8 pair) than the description. To me, honestly the backs look like corrugated cardboard. There was no consistency to the back and it look as if they had been haphazardly folded. Needless to say, these went back.

Got these as a (very generous) gift, and they are so pretty, but just too narrow. I have bunions from ballet, and the foot is just too narrow. Reviewers here say they would stretch out, but i guess I'm not willing to hurt my feet while trying. I'm going to return them and keep trying boots that are wider. I have some Miz Mooz that are better that way. Too bad because Frye boots are something every girl would want. Plus the Veronica slouch is pretty gorgeous.

Loved this boot, the 'scrunch' hugs really nice and is comfortable. Just wish the shaft was longer!

I bought these in a size 8, which is what I always wear, and I struggled to get this on my foot. My foot width is very average. Once I was able to squeeze my foot in (after several minutes - and it wasn't the calf - it was the foot!), it is so tight and narrow that I can barely walk (the length is fine). I'm not sure if a bigger size will do better or not but I'll return to see how that works out. Unwearable at this point.
