These were awesome! I was a little apprehensive to order them because they appeared super shiny but when they arrived they had a much more matte appearance. The leather is very soft and they break in incredibly easily. This also means that they scuff/show wear quickly but that doesn't bother me. They are extremely comfortable! First time I've ever ordered shoes/boots and considered getting another pair in a different color. The sole is *a little* thin but still really cozy.

Very comfortable right out of the box. I usually wear a size 6 and the 6 fits perfectly. Could wear with thin socks.

Love 'em! I've had no new-shoe adjustment time, they've been comfortable from the first step and I walk a lot. The leather takes on a broken-in, scuffed look quickly that compliments the styling of the shoe.

I really like these boots,they are very comfortable. The toe box is plenty wide, which is what I like. My feet and toes are not being crowded so I don't need to worry about corns and callouses.

Awesome boots! They do run a teensy bit large. I bought them in my normal size, 8.5, and they have plenty of room for big socks, which I like, and the width feels right, so I don't think I could really size down. Comfy, goes with just about anything, and well-made. Yay Born!

Great looking (although the toe box was a bit fatter than I liked) and well made. Even though the fit was good overall, they were a tight across the widest part of my foot, and I don't have wide feet.

Ended up walking about 3 miles in these when I couldn't get a cab the other day... had only had them for a few days. They were *fantastic*, no break-in period. They run a teenie bit large, so order down a little if possible (even with thick socks they're a bit long). I ended up changing the laces because they come with a wax-coated lace that easily unties.

Love, love these shoes! So comfortable I could walk in them all day long. These work so well with trousers as well as dresses and complement well any outfit. Pure perfection in my book!

I love these boots! No break-in required, wore them on walks all over SF with no discomfort. The only thing I'd change is they could use a bit more cushion in the sole or insole. Size 8 is my usual size and since these are slightly roomy I can wear socks with no problem.

Very soft leather (sure hope it lasts!), comfortable from the moment I put them on. Normally wear 8.5 and went with the 8.5, though they're a little roomy. (8 was tight in the width) Nice shoes, recommended!

Extremely comfortable boot. Since purchasing these boots I have been wearing them almost everyday. They have decent arch support, as is, but I wear Vasyli orthotic inserts and these boots work great with them. The leather is soft and flexible - absolutely no soreness or rubbing with these. I am actually saving up to buy a second pair because they suit my needs so well. I bought these because my Doc Martens were stolen and I was looking for a replacement shoe and I thought I would try these for a change. I still love my old Docs but these Born Orlene boots have a very similar look and feel but half the weight. I love the classic, simple, menswear-inspired design.

I love these boots! I've bought Born shoes in the past and have never been disappointed. They are comfortable, sturdy, and beautiful.

These are stylish and the leather is beautiful. They are super comfortable right out of the box...if you like this style, buy this shoe.

I love these boots. They required virtually no break-in period, and I actually like their look even more now that the leather is starting to get some creases as it conforms to my foot. (I've had them for two weeks, and have probably worn them 7 - 8 of the days.) I have a very high instep, and that part feels good in this boot, probably in part due to the lacing and the ability to customize them to fit you. The arch support isn't as quite good as my plantar fasciitis would prefer, but for the standard one that comes in the shoe, it feels just fine to me!

I am so happy with these boots. The fit is perfect and so comfortable, and the style is classic. The leather is good quality and seems like it will age well. I was glad that the leather doesn't look as shiny in real life as it does in the photos. I work as a server, and I haven't had any problems being on my feet in these for 8+ hours. I've had another pair of Born boots for years and still love them; I think these will be the same.

These are lovely. My shopping experience was just fine. The shoes are fairly comfy, extremely lightweight, and feel like I'm wearing nothing.

These are very comfortable. higher up the ankle than I thought. Not sure if they will be OK with skirts but definitely love them with pants - both work and running around town. Definitely run large. I'm usually 7.5 but wearing a 6.5.

The color and leather on these is beautiful. Without orthotics, I would say they are true to size, but with them, I couldn't even get my foot in because they were so narrow, and I don't have particularly wide feet. I'm going got try the same size in a Wide.

A number of people have commented that these looked like clown shoes and I don't think they do at all. It just depends on your style I suppose. They do run a little bigger. I run between 8.5-9 and the 8.5 fit me perfectly. I can't have my toes squished together due to foot problems and these gave great room in the toe box. I was looking for a pair of boots to wear with skirts/dresses to a business office setting and because I have such a problem with shoes fitting my problem feet, I ordered these with a few other styles. These were just a little too funky looking for corporate office so they are getting returned. Funky is okay at home but not work for me. The only complaint I have is that they rubbed against the side of my heel when I tried them on. It could have just been this particular pair, so don't let that stop you from trying them but keep it in mind when you do a test walk in them.

Very comfortable. Only concern is that they have no grip on the sole what so ever, these are not good on ice. They are stylish and the leather is very soft. Did I mention comfortable?

Good looking boot and fits well. Seems like this will be a great little boot and I am keeping them. I like the Born brand and I have owned several other Born shoes. I didn't give the boot the full 5 stars because the finish on the left boot has slight discoloring or rubbed-off finish in two places. The shoe box contained a disclaimer notice to the effect that if they're not perfect it's a sign of high craftsmanship. I'm assuming this blemish falls into their category of passable quality and coverage under the disclaimer in the eyes of Amazon and Born, therefore I am not attempting to exchange them. I would have asked for an exchange at a bricks and mortar store, however. I will buy some matching shoe polish and fix the flaw myself.

I own these boots, and wore them as my everyday boot last winter. They are super soft and very comfortable to wear. I wear a 9.5 - 10, and the 9.5 fit me the best. They look great with jeans and corduroys. My only complaint is that they are supposed to distress naturally, according to the Born representative, but everything that touches them makes scratch marks. I polish mine just about everyday. They look great starting out, but by the end of the day they look scratched up again. A little too distressed for my taste, but I love them so much I put up with the maintenance required to keep them looking good.

Awesome boots! They are well constructed, comfortable, and look great. The toe box is sort of narrow (from top to bottom) but even on my big feet it's not a huge problem, though squeezing big thick wool socks into them might be problematic come winter. Otherwise, LOVE them!

Unfortunately I returned these. I liked the sleek look, but they were too flimsy and, considering the price, I thought they would be better made. If you do not need sturdy boots, these would be fine. Definitely order half a size down.
