I've been wearing these jeans for more than 50 years, but I may have to switch. The quality of the dyes or the material has gone down. I am particularly irked by the white lines down the legs left by the creases created for packaging. But, the general quality of the material including the coloring appears of lower quality, as well.

Im usually not one to leave bad reviews but this time it’s a must! I got totally ripped off. The sizing was way off. The button fly on the jeans was missing buttons. They seemed worn and were definately damaged. Bad purchase. Not stoked.

Sizing is WAAAAY OFF. The waist is like a size 30, not 34 like I ordered. The button fly was missing a broken button and the button was in a little ziplock baggy stapled to the pocket! Wtf. Terrible order, terrible service

Had to return because inseam was longer. Compared with the same purchase with another store was the best fit. I don't know if it was because the jean I purchased at the first store had Levis red tab with Levis (R) rear right pocket, the one from Zappos had just a plain red teb with (R) on it. This has happened before on other purchases of Levis jeans, my size is 36 X 36.

I have been buying "shrink to fit" Levi's for 30 years, so I've got a good handle on how big these should before washing. Pre-washed, right out of the shipping package, these were smaller than my same sized pair I've been wearing for 3 years that were fresh out of the dryer. Checked them against my same-sized regular (not shrink to fit) 501's, also fresh out of the dryer - yep, quite a bit smaller than those too. The button-holes were poorly finished and almost too small to button, as well. These are obviously mis-sized factory seconds being sold as standards "on sale". Returning and will not buy from here again.

Shrink To Fit 501 Levis came used, already washed and heavily wrinkled, no Levi labels attached.
Correct size only.

I ordered rigid "shrink to fit" 501s. Zappos sent me a pair that had already been washed by someone else. Bad Zappos!

I have been buying 501s all my life. These are much, much baggier in the leg than my old pairs. I’ve washed them multiple times, still baggy. I’m guessing Levis has changed its sizing for 501s.

Wow! Someone at Levi's should probably get fired over this. The 501 Shrink-to-fit is arguably THE item that defines the Levi's brand, and somehow, someways they've managed to ruin it! No one in the USSR or China was paying 3x their price for authentic Levi's 501's with crappy stitching and denim weighing 3-5 ounces less, c'mon!
A few years ago 501 shrink-to-fit jeans were the nicest thing your dollar could get you, heavyweight denim stitched right and an icon.
Well, instead of personnel at Levi's saying "we might need to charge $5-10 more for these jeans to keep them as they are", they decided to f**k them up, single-stitch inseam instead of double-stitch, crap lightweight denim instead of what they'd been using, lighter indigo dye to save some pennys, etc.
Levi's wrecking the classic 501 shrink-to-fit (while still selling then as a disingenuous "original") has forced me to consider other brands that do it right because they've decided to do it wrong.
Buy at your own risk, find an older pair on eBay or something if you can.

I ordered two pairs of the 501 shrink to fit jeans a few days ago and they are not the same product in the picture. The picture shows a double stitched inseam and the jeans I received are single stitched. The fabric seems a little thinner compared to my pairs from a few years ago as well. I would not pay much for this garbage that Levi's is putting out now. It makes you wonder where else they are cutting costs and quality. I might never be purchasing another pair of Levi's jeans again, what a sad day.

Great service from Zappos, but won't purchase stf Levis again. After much research about getting the right fit on these i bought a 35w 35l. I normally wear a 34w 32l and love my 501s. But I could not get these to shrink! I soaked them in hot water twice, and then even soaked them while wearing them in the tub in lukewarm water, washed them in the machine hot cycle and air dried, then tub soaked again in hot water and threw them in the dryer. Now they are still too big and the finish is a corny royal blue. Plus, the classic Levis tag on the back tore off. I now have a pair of crappy generic jeans. No sir, I do not like it.
