Although I normally wear a size 6 - 6.5, I took these in a size 5! I decided that I wasn't going to wear these with the fleece liners that are sold separately, because I'd rather have a tighter fit than the typical rain boot look. They fit me perfectly and comfortably with thicker wool socks. I really like this mid-calf style because I am only 5'0" and I have skinny calves and I felt that these were as good of a fit as I could get in a rain boot! I plan on wearing these when it rains, or in the winter on warmer days when there is a lot of slush. I don't think they will be warm enough to wear in Chicago winters when it's below 30 degrees. And they are super comfortable! I've been wearing them while walking my dog and did not have any comfort issues.

Somebody, please return a size 6 in these boots so that I can scoop them up! Because size 6 was out of stock, I purchased a 7 but they are just too big, and my foot and heel move around too much. (They'd be perfect with a Wellie sock but I want these for warmer weather.) The Ackley is well made, quality rubber, comfortable, perfect height, and tough-but-adorable style wise. I'm bummed that I had to return them. FYI: I normally wear size 6.5.

Adorable. I usually wear a size 9 in boots, and a size 9 in these is as good as it's going to get -- almost too short, and a bit wide, but I slipped inserts into them, and all is well. Pretty stable, too, for wellingtons. Hope they last a good long time.

These boots are adorable and I keep getting compliments on them! I went with the navy and love it. I also love the shoelaces. So far great for rain and snow. I'm a 7.5 and ordered the 7 and they fit perfectly.

I bought these because I am short and wanted a shorter shaft boot. They are well made, very roomy (great for thick wool winter socks). I usually wear 7 1/2 wide and the 8 has more than enough room-not sure a 7 might have been OK but happy with these.They are not so stiff as to slip on the heel with every step as others I've tried.

I am a student and wear these all day walking to my classes. They are more comfortable than any other boots I have owned and are super stylish. They are a combination of a Wellington and a Bean boot.

These boots are great. Size wise, I ordered the size 7F. For reference, I wear a size 7½ in Frye, Nine West, Nike, Michael Kors and most other shoes. They are great midcalf rain boots. I am only 5'3" and the tall Hunter boots come right up to my knees. The calf on the boot is plenty wide enough to accommodate skinny jeans. I also got the Hunter short fleece socks in black and they fit perfectly inside the boot. And as usual, Zappos is great. I had my order delivered in a day. Thanks, Zappos.

I recently got the Hunter Ackley even though there were no existing reviews on this style. From what I learned of Hunter, I should expect quality in the form of a great boot. I didn't see any reason I would want to wear tall rainboots with skinny jeans all day and wanted something more versatile, practical, and easy to get on and off in case I just needed to run my dog out in a storm. They are a perfect mid-calf length and I've worn them for a full day with skinny or straight jeans on casual days at work and just out for a quick walk with the dog in a deluge. Love the basic black with red laces. I'm a size 8.5M and ended up returning the 9M for an 8M. I would say they run larger because of the fact the Hunters are a whole size run. They're my first pair and I'm hoping they last forever!

Though the shoes are bigger than what I expected, it left room for me to wear thicker socks! I love these boots. They are so comfortable and they look great! I get compliments on them all the time. Your feet are definitely warm with these boots. I ordered a 9 (I am a pretty solid 9 on the chart. Occasionally an 8.5 and do not have wide feet) and these felt about a 1 size bigger. Like I said, it leaves room for thicker socks! Enjoy!

Received these boots and they looked old and worn! The box was bashed in and torn and the boots didn't sport the Hunter tags. The worst part was I was really looking forward to receiving these as they looked so cute in the pics. Had I known they were only discounted because they were in this state, I wouldn't have bothered. The money is not enough of a discount for used boots. I thought it was a genuine sale. Anyway, I did switcher about keeping them but they were just too dusty/fluffy and already had that waxy dull 'bloom' people talk about which I thought only occurred after a long time of getting wet and then drying again, i.e. a few months at least. So disappointing as these short Hunters are really comfy and the gloss black with red laces style is adorable. If only they had sent me a new pair instead of someone else's seconds
