These sneakers are great for my 5 year old daughter with a wide foot( we ordered the wide width). Love the velcro closure as she is not able to tie laces yet. Although they are not girly pink, they are very comfy with just the right amount of arch support.We bought a pair in the next size up for when she wears this pair out!

As always New Balance has great shoes that are very comfortable. I bought this shoe for my 5 year old grandson, who has a very wide foot with a very high instep, well I have to return and exchange for the extra wide and also go up 1/2 size. This shoe runs a bit on the narrow side. But other than that, a great shoe.

This shoe is true to size and color. Great shoe and comfortable, too. It's an easy slip on or slip off kind of shoe. My child is 4 and learned how to put on his shoes for the first time with this shoe. Hope this helped.

Great shoes. My 4 year old thinks they look cool and they make him run fast. New Balance shoes seems to hold up really well also and they are one of the few shoes I can find for his huge foot in WW. The only problem with them is the tongue seems to be narrow and it sometimes slide over to the side when his shoes are on.

These are great shoes. The color wears out wears out quickly. We are on our second pair due to growth. My daughter is five. The blue fades quickly as well. She has to have navy or black shoes, hence the blue. New Balance is a good show over all. Daily use with this particular shoe just wears quicker than you would like.

I have purchased these shoes before and my preschool boys love them. They are hard to fit with extra wide feet and these shoes provide comfort, good support, and my boys are able to get them off and on easily. My only gripe would be they tend to loose their luster. scuff marks show and the black turns a little greyish, so the new shoe look fades rather quickly. I have tossed them in the wash and they hold up great. I recently reordered new pairs for both my boys ordering up a size and noticed they were the same size as the old shoes. meaning they were marked larger but when compared side by side and on the kids feet the were same size if not smaller. so I re-odered going up another size and again the shoes that I received were the same, only difference what is marked on the shoe (I checked several times thinking my eyes must have deceived me) so I am trying once again to reorder my boys favorite shoe and I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen with this shoe?

Bought 2 pair one for my 2 year old and one for my 5 year old both boys! Love Zappos but really dislike these shoes. They didn't hold up even for 1 month. They stretched way out and look like they are a year old already. Wish I could get replacement shoes. I got the navy color which is good just hate they didn't last longer and feel like I'm stuck with them.

This particular shoe wasn't very wide. New Balance tends to fit my 6-year-old but the design of this shoe - specifically the velcro latch - was too narrow for him. Bummed.

The shoes are easy for my 6 year old to put on, however after just a few times of wearing them the threads on the front of the shoe (near toes) are fraying. While my son is hard on shoes, for the price, I would expect the shoes to hold up a bit longer.

My son wore these shoes for 2 days and then the thread holding the rubber on the toe unraveled. It still appears to be glued but will eventually separate. Very disappointed because of the cost vs. quality.

New Balance quality issue, not Zappos. After only wearing for 7 weeks, a section of the sole on one shoe completely peeled off. Fortunately, Zappos is replacing at no charge.

The shoe's width is great, but the Velcro strap was about ¼" too short to make it over to the fastening side of my son's foot. Extra wide shoes require longer straps/laces than your regular shoe.

These are our second pair of these NB shoes and my son loved the first pair. This time I am wondering why the closing strap seems shorter, he needs help pulling it over the tongue. We will persevere for a week or two and see if it loosens up and gets easier to close, if not, we will be sending them back.

I love the look of this sneaker. It runs small. My son measures 12, so I ordered a 13. That was too small. I ordered a 13.5. The toe was in the right spot, but the strap was too short. Very sad to see these go.

My son had wide feet, these shoes are comfortable, and it's a plus to have them in size wide, the only problem is that the velcro is all the way at the end where the N is, so the can't close the shoe all the way because the velcro does not reach all the way to where the other side of the velcro is supposed to meet.

My (insanely particular) 6 year old son absolutely loved these shoes and wore them until they literally fell apart around his feet - which happened within one month. Pluses: - Wider fit - Light weight - Easy to put on - My son was willing to wear them (big plus). Minuses - Fell apart within one month - Material around toes was glued on and fell off almost immediately.

My eight year old son lives for these shoes. I bought the first pair in June and he is still the same size in December, but they are starting to look pretty worn (he is rough on shoes). I reordered them again in the same exact size and style, but in grey this time instead of navy. We just got them, and the strap on the new shoes is not long enough to reach across to the Velcro. I compared them to the old shoes (same size! Same style!) and sure enough, the Velcro piece on the new pair sits lower on the shoe than it does on the old one. I am not sure if this is a fluke or a new design, but we were super disappointed and had to send them back.

I was excited for these shoes. My son has wide and thick feet. The shoe fit great but the velcro strap was not long enough. It barely made contact with the velcro across my son's thick foot even though we bought the wide size. Had to return.

My son has been in the NB hook and loops since birth (now 3). These fit much narrower than the previous 993s that he had. The medium width barely closes with the velcro unless you painstakingly adjust the tongue. Not practical for a child dressing himself. Too bad it took a day of wear to realize the issues and I am now out the money.

After one month of my 6 year old wearing these shoes (we live in MN so he was only wearing them part-time--still some boot days!), they looked very worn. The soles on the toe are separating from the shoe, color is fading. Granted he is a 6 year old boy and rough on shoes, but not what I expect after only 1 month of wear. I will try another brand next time.

My son loved these shoes which he's been wearing since he was 3 years old. The size 13 we just bought had a short tie, the velcro did not reach the adhesive part. It's defective design. Sadly, we have to return them.

My son found these shoes to be very comfortable and they fit our school uniform policy. The problem is they lasted exactly 3 months - I know because I just checked my order date and it is 3 months to the day. The top suede part is coming off and the cloth part where his foot goes into the shoe is torn on both shoes. My son is six and hard on his shoes but I doubt he is unique in that area. Most little boys play hard. These shoes didn't hold up well at all. Back to find something else.

My boys wore many New Balance shoes through the years and they are usually great quality. I was very disappointed that these shoes looked like they had been worn for months after a week and a half. The strings that hold the sole on at the toe began to come out, and the "suede" section looked faded and frayed. The shoe seemed very wide for M width. Zappos said they would return, no problem.

The straps on this shoe stretch out too easily. We first had a 2W and the straps stretched out so much that after a week or two I had to get the W instead. Zappos was very generous and did the exchange at no cost. Just a few months later now and the strap broke on the new shoe. Conclusion: bad shoe design, find other hook and loop shoes, great Zappos service.
