I like this hat. It seems less hot than my other hats made of this material. The size medium is a touch too big but not bad. Also it does pack well. I will say though for no itching issues and hot temperatures I like fabric sun hats like Outdoor Research better. Much more comfortable and cooler IMO.

The hat is extremely comfortable (I got large). It does an excellent job of shading the face. It's soft. I haven't tried packing it yet. The natural is actually more light green than natural. I'm passing this one to my husband since I don't wear green a lot, but I'm ordering one for myself. It's a nice size brim. The large floppy ones (that I also adore) are too big to pack. The smaller ones don't shield enough of the face. This one is truly perfect for that purpose. I'm not crazy about the peak, which is why style only gets 4 stars.

This hat works great! If you are near the water or need serious protection from the sun, this hat will do the job! It is water resistant, flexible, cool and fits well. Sure, it's a little 'park rangery' looking, but it will protect you from the sun.

i really love these hats. they are cool enough to wear in very hot weather and provide plenty of protection for your face and ears from the sun. another benefit is shading the back of my polarized sunglasses which really helps when i am sight fishing !

Instruction tag states the hat has a conceled pocket and packs into a self contained bundle. I have yet to fnd this hidden pocket and see how it packs like the tag states. Columbia told me upon inquiry the tag was misprinted. So if you are buying for this feature dont bother it is misrepresented.

The hat is well made and is sharp looking, but is far too warm to wear on a hot day. The hat needs a ventalation source.

Great hat! My husband loves this, only problem is there are creases that won't come out due to shipping in a bag .

Good hat only problem is an inside knot/seam that aggravates. Can't be cut off or the hat would unravel. Covered it with a piece of tape which helps some.

If you live in the South where there is REAL sun and heat then read on. This is a nice hat if it is 50 - 80 degrees. Nice fit, protection and works well in cool sun (Spring/Fall in South). If you live in the South and it is 80 - 100, you will burn up alive in this hat. This hat has no way to vent and just traps in heat. I live in NC and this thing traps in heat when it is summer sun. I get really hot and sweat really bad. I can not wear it in summer heat. No venting anywhere. 75 degrees watching baseball, you are good. 95 at the beach, you will hate this hat. If you live in the North, this hat is fine. If you live in the South, you have a limited temperature range. Good product for Spring and Fall in the South.

I ordered this hat in Fossil, but I was surprised when I pulled out the hat and found it to be green instead of straw colored. It's a nice hat. Well built and fits well, but the color just wasn't right for me, so I sent it back.

The hat looks good but does not fit well.

The picture looks like a cream hat with a navy blue strip, but when the hat came, its more the color of broccoli, with green and blue mixed together. We liked the tan hat with the tan stripe, but the sizing was off, so I ordered my husband the smaller size with the navy stripe instead and it is ugly. It is a well made hat, but not what we ordered.

This hat is of good quality and looks like it will last. I'm going to use in for golf and March in Ohio is not good golfing weather. Try back at the end of summer for a different review.

I have one of these that is 8-10 years old that I finally wore out. The L/XL I had for 10 years fit perfectly. This one is way too small to wear.

Stitching along the band failed right away; Sizing is limited and either too big or too small. I had one S/M that fit well but lost it in the surf. The replacement of the same size is so tight it hurts my head. I like the aeration/ventilation of the straw and the Sun Protection Force (SPF) but I wish the sizing was more fine tuned to fit a head beyond the bed.

Sorry to bring down the reviews, but this hat looked just awful on me. I'm sure it's just because I have a really small head - but it looked like a clunky, dowdy men's hat on me! Not feminine at all. Should've known that "unisex" wouldn't work! Returning this one right away.

This hat is a joke. Absolutely do not buy it! Spend more money on better brands, brands that ship theirs in hat boxes! Because this will come smashed up in a baggy. Worst of all the fit! It will have to set on the very top of your head or it's going to mash your hair down. Only buy if your bald.

The hat came in a completely crushed box with the hat also crushed. I'm try to get the wrinkles in the hat out but it's not working. Im or happy about the crushed and deformed hat Columbia should rethink their boxing

Hat came in looking like someone pulled it out of their butt, wrinkled all over edges bent . Don't waste your money

Quality was good but came in a box stuffed flat; haven't been able to shape it back to what it's supposed to look like.

The hat was severely bent and difficult to wear. Very disappointing.

This would have been the perfect hat, but arrived at the house shipped in a very small package. The hat was permanently damaged as a result. I returned it immediately.

Have one from a couple of years ago and it's much better constructed than this one. Very unsatisfactory.

Well something happened between China and the new manufacturing of this hat. #1 the new hat does not filter out as much sunlight as the hat mad in China.#2it is flimsy compared to the China Hat. When you pick up the China hat it actually has suction on a flat non pourus surface,lastly holding up both hats up to the Sun it is obvious that the Chinese hat is Superior.I have bought and wore this hat for the last 5 years and buy 2 a yer,these are going back. Please,please,fix this and let me know,I'll give them another try.
