Very soft, thin, cool fabric, love the swoosing! Fit wide hips - it's hard to shop sometimes - fits perfect now but if this shrinks it would not be good! Size MED fit -5'4 athletic, 138lbs, usually a size 6 or 8. Had to return this because the thin fabric showed every lump, bump, panty line, and ripple. Will give good stars - as overall, a great looking skirt and true to size and color.

This versatile piece makes a lovely top and a very nice skirt. I am 5'5", 108 lbs (32A) and have the XS. It is true to Patagonia size - S would be much too big. As a top, it was an instant hit. As a skirt, it took me a few attempts to get it right as I like my skirts a bit shorter and gathered at the waist for a more feminine fit. Here's what I do: I fold the waistband in half and use the ties as a belt, tying them on the other side of my waist. Then I just fold the rest of the waistband over this "belt". I find it looks much more flattering that way. To wear to work, I do the same but add a wide waist belt and tights. The top version also looks great under a cardigan. I can't wait to take this on my next hiking holiday!

I have a hard time with Patagonia, I flop between L and and XL. I wear Patagonia dresses in XL so I ordered this in XL and it is a little roomy for me. (5'3" 158 pounds) I also own the Kamala skirt in L which I feel is a little too tight for me, but they are a little different styles. I did not have the problem the other reviewer had where the fabric showed too much I thought the skirt was loose and flowy (but I did get the black skirt and my skirt is a little big). Also the strings on the skirt will not cinch the waist, which I am fine with but that did not occur to me until I tried to tighten up my skirt.

This skirt/shirt is wonderful. I purchased the longer one (also a dress!) previously and love it as well. This is a great travel piece but also a nice light summer skirt that can easily be a shirt on a different day.

LOVE this skirt! I own it in black, and it is the most comfortable, versatile skirt that I own. I normally wear a size S in Patagonia dresses (like the Margot or Minette), but I went for a M in this to give to give it a bit more drape. It fits perfect. For size reference, I am 5' 3", 124 lbs., 32B, Size 6/8, pear shaped. The fabric is very thin, which isn't a problem with the black, but I would be cautious in getting a lighter color as it may prove to be see-through. I never wear it as a top, just as skirt.

This is the most versatile piece of Summer clothing I own. The extra small is actually an extra small (almost never happens for me with outdoor companies). It's probably even more flattering as a top than a skirt. It also transitions nicely into maternity wear without looking like maternity wear.

Love this skirt! Will take it traveling this summer and probably wear it around town now. You can adjust length shorter by folding over waist. Ordered it in the red stripes. Also ordered the Patagonia Kamala skirt too!

I love this skirt. I am 49 years young and like to wear skirts instead of shorts at my age. This can be worn at just above the knee or any length higher up for younger women. What a great piece of clothing. I bought 2. Seems to run true to size (not vanity sizing). I am 5'2 108 and curvy. I got a small. It fits just right.

Super cute fabric...but the skirt is very short. I should have looked closer at photo to see how far below her belly button she's wearing it. Keeping, though...too cute not to, but will probably wear bike shorts underneath.

I was excited when it came, super comfy and I loved the fabric but I took it traveling and it stretched out and was way too loose after wearing it once as a skirt and once as a top. There's no way to tighten the waist or anything. Maybe it will shrink up after I can dry it in a dryer, but hand washing and drying it in the sun left it super loose.

This fabric is amazing -- both in appearance and feel. I was so bummed that this skirt was just not flattering -- it looked frumpy on me.

A bit flouncy and fun. Very comfortable and cute. I'm a curvy woman and find it a flattering fit for wearing either as a skirt or halter top!

Love this skirt. It's fabulous for traveling. Dress it up of down it won't fail you. Added bonus of complete comfort.

I bought this to replace one just like it that I wore so much it wore out! This works great as a halter top with jeans or as a skirt so it's a travel staple.

I love this skirt/top. I have worn it both ways, and have been complimented every time. Its very comfortable, great for travel. I am 5'3" and the small fits great. Perfect length. I will be ordering another. I have the black now, but I like it so much I think I want to order a pattern as well.

I love these skirts! I bought the paisley print first, and the fit was so good that when I saw that it was available in black, I had to have it. The fabric is very soft and the scrunching on the sides is flattering. I have received many compliments!

Beautiful skirt! I have the same skirt from a previous year and I just loved it so much I had to get this year's collection I pair it with a red shirt and it looks great. It really makes the red in the skirt "pop" I have also wore it as a shirt and it looks so cute (something I never did with my previous skirt) I get compliments every time I wear either of them. It fits true to size, I'm 5'2", 130lb, athletic and it fits perfect, hits right at the knee.

What a versatile piece -- thanks to Patagonia for making travel packing easy! This is a light, nonclingy material that has some moisture wick to it. I love that the tie and the foldover makes this tight or loose on the hips, the foldover makes it short or longer as needed and low or high on the waist so I can pair it with all sorts of tops and shoes. Also adorable as a sweetheart tube top or halter! Fits true to size for me, 5'3", 127#, 24A and I got an XS.

I ordered this in the black & white and LOVED it! Was very flattering and moved beautifully. I tried it as a halter and it was nice at first but later started to sag in the back showing the back of my bra. So if you're small-busted enough to go without or wear a bandeau might work. But I wanted it as a skirt anyway so it's perfect.

LOVE this skirt. Light and fun for the summer. Very comfortable and easy to wear. You can slightly adjust the length with the the ruching and where you want it to sit on your middle. This particular pattern works well with the style - I tried it in plain colors, and it looked creased and cheap - in this pattern for some reason it doesn't... Just fun!

I love to wear skirts and this one is very nice. Love the style and length. The fabric is thin and the sizing is not quite right. I wear an 8 but the medium is too tight and shows underwear line. I will return it and exchange for size large. I got the gray color which looks great with bright tanks and tees. I live on an island in the Caribbean where it can get pretty hot in the summer. This skirt is just right for me.

True to size, great quick cover-up or casual "go-to" skirt. Not for work, however.

Very cute fit! Not too long or too short! Slightly see thru but with nude color panties it is just fine. I have not worn it as a shirt but as a skirt it is very flattering but b careful on windy days. The fabric is a little light. I get lots of compliments.

This dual skirt shirt combination is a great idea - especially if your going on a long trip but it was a little let down. The shirt was adorable , the skirt was way to short and it was so flowy that it didn't keep much of a secret of what's underneath. Also, not good if you carry weight in your hips and stomach - it was so tight at the draw strings.
