The pencil case is perfect for my daughter who started middle school. She likes having all her supplies like pens, markers, tapes, glue, postits, and even a calculator all in one case. The case arrived without a monkey and Zappos immediately sent a new one. We didn't have to send old one back. I shop at Zappos for its great service.

Great case, but this is big! Definitely holds 100 pens!

I have several iterations of this item - a quintessentially Kipling product that makes organizing anything from pens and pencils to markers or even make-up a cinch. What I personally love is the compartmentalization - you get a product that CAN be "just" for pens, pencils, markers etc (think beyond school/college to anyone who does art, adult coloring etc) but that also has a compartment deep enough to allow you to carry something like a small notebook, sketch book or any other number of items that aren't perfectly flat! The one thing that bugs me, personally, is that the interior lining is a bit flimsy - and always SUCH a dull, boring gray or similarly bland color. I'd like to see some coordinating yet contrasting patterns popping out after unzipping these!

Love the color, much more vibrant in person. Monkeys are always cute. The only problem I have with this pencil case is its rather boxy and chunky, but it sure does hold a bit.
