Love the shoe but ordered a half size too large. I normally wear a 7 but followed the the review suggestion and ordered up. For me they run true to size. Very comfortable!

These shoes are very comfortable and stylish. I don't normally wear as much of a heel, but these are easy to wear and were comfy out of the box for me. I wear an 11 and these were true to size. They're great for dressing up jeans and cords. As other reviewers state, it's not your typical brown. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's grey, but an usual brown. The soles have a dark grain that I really like. It makes them something you can wear when mixing greys, browns, and/or black, IMO. I really like them.

Love these shoes. I would agree, however, the brown in the picture does not appropriately reflect the actual color of the shoe.

Awesome shoe for style, and pretty comfortable. I have wider feet, so it was too tight for my true size. I sent back the true size and ordered a half size larger. That pretty much did the trick! This is a great shoe if you're short because it give you a bit of height!

I love these shoes. I love the heel, the platform and the texture. I have to return them however as they are a little too snug across the top of my foot.

Awesome shoe! Fits great, comfy, and so cute! However, this dark brown is not dark brown at all. It's more of an odd greyish tint of purple? Still cute!

These shoes were really comfortable right out of the box. They are a little heavy, but the sole gives lots of cushion if walking on a hard floor all day. I have the brown and the color is not a true brown, but I like the variation in color. They are very cute with jeans.

These shoes are not dark brown as shown. They are more of a taupe/gray. I like the color. They are snug across the top, but I have had Borns before and they stretch out so I am happy that these are snug they are still comfortable.

Agree with other post, color is not dark brown. More like a bronze-ish, grey-ish dusty color. They run large and will have to exchange them. But otherwise very comfortable according to my wife.

I love the fit and the arch, but the color was some very weird, faded taupe- with pink undertones that ruined the whole look of the shoe. But the fit and comfort were superior.

First, I have water skis for feet--In general, I wear a size 11 Med; on both feet my 2nd toe is 1/2'' longer than the big toe, and my left foot is bigger (longer) than my right. Secondly, I think the Famke has been around for a while. The Reviews go back to November 2011--that's practically a decade in Shoe Years--but I've always had a great fit with Born and was looking for a different shoe, just for giggles, instead of my usual comfort-types. When the Big Dogs bark, you have to listen. The Puppies of 30 yrs ago will not wear ''The Cruel Shoes'' anymore! Despite the near-constant aches and pains of my left ''Big Dog'', I still caved and ordered the so-called ''Brown'' Famke (like others have said, it's really a Taupe/Gray hybrid). Felt the slightest bit tight after zipping them up--but within 5 minutes they felt amazingly comfortable. The platform felt cushy but not bouncy. Felt no imminent threat of toppling over. Black would've been my 1st choice, but honestly, I think it's easier to arrange a private audience with the Pope than it is to find this shoe in an 11/Black. When these shoes arrived I was a little perplexed because they are an unusual color. They appear grayish green to me, but I am colorblind. They were astoundingly comfortable, and I loved the height they gave me! They are comfortable like clogs but high and sturdy like wedges. The soles are not wood, they are some kind of synthetic thick rubber which makes them great for someone with a bad back like me. I decided to keep them the day before a week in Pennsylvania. I wore them to the airport because they are easily slip-on-able, but it turned out that I forgot my other shoes at home. I was stuck with these puppies for an entire week, and they worked with every outfit that I had packed. I honestly went hiking in these shoes, and did not get a single blister. I did scrap the inside of my ankle with the zipper, but other than that, these are deceptively all-purpose shoes. And socks are completely optional because the inside soles are so cushy. These are practical, go-anywhere shoes. I might buy them in black too.

The Famke by Born is a terrific shoe, very comfortable. My foot did begin to hurt after a couple hours standing in the new shoes. But I imagine after the shoe conforms to my foot it'll be comfortable for many hours.

LOVE THESE SHOES! Felt a bit tight at first but wore in my office with thick socks for a day and PERFECT! They are amazingly comfortable, do not feel at all like heels because of the platform; can literally walk for miles. And they are so sexy, it's unreal. Absolutely THE BEST. I got the gray and they are a nice dark gray; perfect neutral.

I needed good comfortable winter shoes, something that I could wear with leggings and jeans, and these work perfectly! They are super comfortable, with nice trendy chunky heels. If you have wide feet, you may find these shoes tight, but there is a zipper on side, you can adjust it to fit. I ordered these shoes Wednesday evening (after finding out a major winter cold front was coming) and they were delivered on my doorstep Friday afternoon! I am so super impressed with Zappos' shipping! I am a customer for life!

I love these shoes. I have to admit that I am loyal to Born clogs during the summer. I wanted something with a heel for the colder weather and these are great. The grey color is perfect for both blacks and browns. It's a nice in-between.

I absolutely love them! I have wide feet so I am always changing sizes. I usually need to get a size 7 for boots, but open toed shoes are 6½ or 6. I tried the 7 and that was too big. So I got the 6½. That was a little snug at first, but they had stretched really quickly. Born shoes always seem to stretch quickly in a good way. Also you can have the zipper down if it is too tight. They are so soft and form fitting. They stretched more than expected, so I am wondering if a size 6 when stretched would be perfect. But I am sticking with 6½. I have a little room if I want socks. I usually go sockless. I am also short, 5'0", so I love the 3". which is great height without feeling like you are on high heels because of the high front as well. I cannot say enough, I am constantly looking for perfect every day shoes with height. Okay, they could be a little more cool looking from the front. I like the side view. I wish they came in more interesting colors. Most people complain about the brown being weird, and I just bought the grey, and they are almost like the black. They are not different enough so I am sending them back. I will take red, blue, purple. They look great with jeans!

These shoes are great! But can you really go wrong with Born shoes? I had seen these shoes on another web site so I new the color was a little more gray/brown than in this picture but that is what I was looking for so I was very happy. It is a great color. The fit is very comfortable. I have wide feet so they were a little snug at first but they stretched just enough. I have arthritis in my feet and have had to start wearing heels under 2½", but these shoes gave me the style I was looking for along with the support I needed. They are fabulous! And the customer service person that helped me with my questions before I ordered them was the best! I will be shopping with Zappos again.

I love these shoes! Yes, the color is more pinkish brown/taupe, but I really like it and think it goes with a variety of outfits. These are super comfy even with the heel and the platform. The leather is also incredibly soft. I have wide feet and a pair of Born sandals that are slightly tight in the toebox, so I originally ordered these in a 9.5. They turned out to be too large, however, especially since I'll mostly be wearing these with thin socks or no socks. Thanks to Zappos' awesome customer service, I was sent an exchange pair in size 9 the next day, and those fit perfectly! The footbed itself in the toebox might not be wide enough to accommodate a very wide foot, but the leather is so soft that there is no rubbing or chafing at all. I take the bus and have walked several miles in these since I've gotten them with no complaints, and I tend to have fickle feet.

These are the best shoes I've ever had! I am a cosmetologist and a volunteer at my daughter's school. I always seem to go to these shoes...and the picture doesn't do them justice. They go with everything. They can look brown...grey...greenish...I can wear them with any outfit!

Love this shoe! I also have black. Fits great and is very comfortable. My only gripe is that this dark brown is nowhere near close to dark brown. It is actually a light grayish taupe. Will I still keep and wear these? Definitely! But if you are looking for dark brown you are barking up the wrong tree. :)

I bought the black color. I absolutely love these shoes. They were comfortable the minute I put them on. Born shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Would recommend these just don't order the brown.

Just received these yesterday in black, gorgeous shoe. Felt great but i havent worn them for long yet but I have learned in the last six months that if you want a comfortable shoe get a Born shoe.

I love these shoes. They are extremely comfortable. They have nice heels and still I could, and do, wear them all day with no problems. I got the black and have no color problems.
