The 8 M(B) size fit my 16" calves like a glove. I love them with hose or tights, but they would absolutely not go over jeans. They are extremely comfortable and feel substantial and well-made. The treads are good enough that I feel I could walk in slush or snow safely, and perhaps even on ice. I love the rich look of the burnished leather. As soon as I got these and saw that they fit, I wanted more colors, but sadly Zappos is out of my size.

These are probably the most beautiful in my search for dressy black boots. I love the yoke-style on the foot and the pointier toe, the quality of leather, and the heel height. Also the length of shaft, though circumference was wider than I would have liked. But I felt more stable in the Clarks Cardy, which also has a glossier leather that I think will hide or withstand scuffs more (I may be wrong). Mallory is dressier and less utilitarian, but for my needs and uses, I am going to stick with the Cardy.

Best boots I've ever bought! Wore them all night and all I got were compliments. I have muscular calves and they fit just right. If you're looking for a boot that will go with everything, dressed up or down, this is it.

I just received the Born Mallory boots. I love them! I have difficult feet to fit (they are wide at the front and narrow at the heel) and wore these easily and comfortably the entire first evening! The heel is dressy enough for skirts, but not so thin and wobbly that I cannot negotiate the ice/snow of our area. These are great boots!

I love this boot, very comfortable and the heel is just right. The color is more of a mottled tan color and not the bone color that it appears in the picture. I would buy this again in another color.

I love these boots! I purchased the taupe and it has three great qualities: comfort, attractive and great quality. It is gorgeous.

I can't say enough good things about this boot...comfortable, stylish, and kinda sexy! I have high arches and have to walk a couple miles for my commute...these boots are extremely comfortable and seem to be holding up well. I don't even need to put insoles in which is almost unheard of for me. Highly recommend!

Great boots. Practically no break-in time. Great for muscular calves (but won't accommodate truly wide calves). Love the moderate heel height. Also love the grayish quality due to the burnished leather -- still clearly a black boot, though.

Very comfy boot! Simple, classy style. Looks good with pants or with a skirt. A little big for me in the calf, but I knew that before buying based on the circumference given.

I love these boots! They are exactly what I was looking for, the calves are a little wide and have some stretch which is good if like me you have muscular calves but skinny ankles. The soles are really supportive and comfortable and they have good traction for those slippery winter mornings. The leather is good quality and has a finish that will age well. These are a bargain for the price.

So happy with this purchase. Very comfortable from day one and I have foot issues. Got compliments the first day I wore them!

The bone color is very nice. I like it because it is very versatile. I'm not so wild about the black zipper though; they could have used a lighter color. The calf is a bit wide for a small person. Foot fit a little tight; I normally wear 6.5 in flats and a 7 in heels. I definitely need a 7 in these instead of 6.5, which was the size closest to mine available in the light color.

I was so excited to get these boots, and so depressed to have to return them! The foot part fit perfectly and was very comfortable. The heel height is perfect, not too high and not too square. Unfortunately, it has a pre-shaped calf that does not conform to the actual shape of my calf, which made it gap at the top in sort of a weird way. It kind of came to a point on the back along the seam. It was also a little big for my calves, and I've never considered that I have skinny calves! But I could put my hand easily down between my leg and the top of the boot. I'm bummed because in every other way they are just what I wanted.

These are so super comfortable and hot looking! I bought the brown, burnt color. I am 5'4 and my frame is small, and the shaft on this boot is ridiculously wide on me. Wearing them with jeans tucked in doesn't look good either. You need to be a medium to large framed woman to make this work. Unfortunately I will be returning these awesome boots.

I have to agree with the reviewer SC. I thought for a moment I had already written a review. I love all of my Born shoes but these were a disappointment. Poor quality leather and the zipper was stiff and not stitched well. They went back.

These are comfortable, have a great heel height for someone who does not like extra high heals. They seem extra roomy in the calf area. Maybe it is just the new style or maybe since I am petite and thin it seems larger than other boots I have.

Very comfortabl and stylish. The calf widens somewhat at the top, but it's workable. I have narrow calves so it was fine at the bottom. When I have jeans on, it's not that noticeable a gap.

I love these boots. The style and comfort is exactly what I was looking for. These boots were comfortable the first time I wore them. Prior reviews alerted me that these boots are not shiny. They have a classic look that I love.

Yes, excellent boot all around. I got these in all 3 colors. The two browns, I have to say, though, were not as expected, and took a few minutes to get used to - both are darker than in the pictures. The brown is, well, more 'burnished', worn looking, less golden tan, more brownish. Both are darker than in the pictures. Surprisingly, contrary to what I expected, I like the lighter one more, and it's more of a medium taupe than bone colored as it appears in the photos. An extremely versatile color. I didn't think it would work in the winter, but it does! This style is casual but dressy, very versatile, and of course inside is the awesome padded Born leather foot lining that is heavenly comfortable to stand on for hours with no problem and make you forget you're wearing boots. I already wore them barefoot once during the warmer fall weather. Easily can be worn with a semi-dressy dress.

I actually tried these boots on in a store and loved them, but they did not have the color I wanted. Zappos had them! Born boots are more comfy than most... a little more room in the foot and leg.

These are great boots! They fit perfectly and are comfortable enough to stand on concrete for hours (I know this for a fact, as I did it last night in these boots). The leather is beautiful, and the heel is high enough to be stylish but not so high as to be uncomfortable. Love these boots!

I wore these for the first time last night..they are great! Nice, sleek, beautiful and comfortable! I didn't want to take them off!

This boot is gorgeous, uber-comfortable, and exceedingly well-made. I was so sad that I had to send it back. The calf was just far too wide for my 15" calf! Strangely, it just flares out at the very top, below the knee. And for the money, I require a boot that looks good. I think that the calf would fit well for someone with a 16-16.5" calf. Such a pity - I ordered another pair in the beautiful creamy color too and it was also just too wide in the calf. Sad!
