I bought these for my two daughters and wanted them to work so badly. The sandals looked great on their feet when they were standing still (after I sized down 1 whole size from their normal shoe size), but my kids both have narrow heels and the heel strap was too loose no matter how I adjusted the straps. Their heels were flopping out of the sandal when they walked through the house. I wish there was an adjustment for the actual heel strap itself. If so, these would have worked for us. Alas, I sent them back and my kids ended up liking the Teva Hurriane sandals instead. I gave these Chacos an overall 3 stars because while they look great, they just don't work for my kids.

Couldn't get straps right enough. too big

I wear a women's 6.5 so sometimes I can buy kid sized shoes. The size 5 of this shoes fit in the footbed but the strap across the ankle was too loose and I couldn't pull it far enough to make it tight. I pulled it all the way to the end but it had too much of a of the strap hanging down by my heel. Maybe my foot and ankles are too narrow for this sandal. Had to return it.

My daughter has ankle pronation and no arch strength. These shoes were the closest to being the perfect supportive shoe, but fell short. We tried 2 sizes and the problem was that the adjustable straps don't adjust around the ankle, so if you have a skinny kid, they are too loose, even all the way tight. This is because the ankle part is not adjustable. They are also quite wide. The style looks "cool" but my daughter also felt the back footbed was "weird" and felt like her foot would tend to slide back (had we kept them).

I wear a Women's size 5 in dress shoe and sandles (6 in running shoes) and the Kid's size 3 was perfect. But, like other reviewers have commented, you can't get them snug enough on your feet. I tightened them, but the strap at the ankle drags onto the ground and I still can't get it tight around my ankle because of the way it is made. There is a seam connecting to the sole that stops you from pulling the strap any tighter. Not good for people with petite feet/small ankles. I'm amazed that a kid could wear it because I am an adult woman and couldn't get it snug around my foot.

I was incredibly disappointed with these shoes. My husband and I have been wearing Chacos for over 20 years, and we know them to be a durable, good-fitting brand with a customizable fit. I have narrow feet and had no problems adjusting the straps down to size. However, we ordered these for our 2 daughters and could not get them fit right. One daughter has narrow feet. We ordered a full size smaller than her tennis shoes size. The footbed was just perfect but when tightened down, the ankle strap had so much slack that it did not secure her heel. My other daughter has wide feet, but the problem was similar. When we ordered a size down from tennis shoes size, the footbed was a bit too short. When we went up a size the footbed was a length I preferred but we couldn't get the strap to adjust to hold her heel securely. Also, the straps were way thinner than our old Chacos (Z1's) and the footbeds seemed more flimsy as well. Unfortunately these will go back.

the straps were overall too long. My kids have skinnier feet and although the straps slide to adjust tightness there was too much excess strap and no place for it to go. too bad because the footbed felt fantastic to their foot.

Bought these for my 7-year-old. They run big, and when the straps are tightened, the excess hangs to the ground. Super cute and she said they were comfy, though. Disappointed that we have to send them back.

I am disappointed in these shoes. I bought them to walk at the beach and to be able to get them wet but that hasn't worked at all. I wear a women's size 6 so a big kids 4 fits me. They were too wide and the ankle strap had to be adjusted and the overage cut off at a cost of 14.00. Worth it IF that had fixed the problem. The straps across the toes cut into my skin like a knife and the stitching at your ankles is so rough it rubs raw spots. I have used moleskin which should have worked but it comes off especially if your shoes get wet. Sand gets under the strap but that probably isn't the shoes fault. As I walk the ankle strap loosens and I have to stop bend down and tighten it. On the plus side, the arch support is great. I will get use out of them especially if I wear socks and stay on dry land but for what I purchased them for; not good at all. At least they were half as much as the adult size.

Clasp design seemed unsuitable for hard running kids. Lots of room for my tiny kid's foot -- too much room. Just wasn't the right design for my petite kid's feet.

There is no way that front strap is fitting anyone, I had two inches of extra space.

Ordered these a day before my daughter's 11th birthday. We were both excited!..looked for something durable and comfortable and thought we found it. These shoes were so big and extremely wide..granted she has a narrow foot but these cant be adjusted..AT ALL. We wanted to love them...even had my tiny foot medium width 17 year old try them on and they were too big and wide. Disappointed!

My daughter is 10 and loved the look of this sandal. She is very particular about the fit and comfort of her shoes. Though this sandal felt decent, the heel has a tendency to sit too far back in the sandal. As a result, the sandal feels and appears to long in the front. Just a bit of an odd fit for my daughter. She wears a 4, but we had to buy a 3 and it still wasn't right for her.

I had to exchange these because they were fully one size too large. The arch is too high and was uncomfortable for me. I had problems with rubbing from the get-go. Every time I wore these--and I wanted to love them--they gave me blisters. Had to give them to Goodwill.

The shoe straps could not tighten enough to hold my daughter's foot in. She has been wearing Chacos for years and this pair really disappointed. I love the adult ones but the straps need to be able to get tight for kids with narrow feet!

These last one year! I’ve owned numerous pairs of Chacos and these fell apart. Don’t know if it’s manufactured error or they are being made poorly.

My 9-year old daughter was so excited to receive these sandals. She finds Tevas to be uncomfortable because the buckles hit her foot in a weird spot, but we needed something functional like Tevas. We thought these Chacos were the answer. But they are way too complicated to loosen and tighten!! Even after watching a tutorial on the Chacos site, we still couldn't get the hang of it. My daughter, who is normally very can-do and competent, was totally frustrated and gave up! Sadly, they are going back.

My kids have worn Chacos for years with no problem. We just ordered a new pair and the straps around the toe are SO loose. I don't know any kids that these would fit. Did they change their design? My daughter has a very average foot. Not too wide, not too narrow.

I love the look of this sandal, but they were too large for my daughter even when I sized down. The front part of the sandal is also wide and loose. Her toes wouldn't stay in them.

way too many straps and the only one you can adjust or tighten is around ankle so the foot just slips around. kids have little feet! i can't really believe this sandal got made. looks good but you can't tighten all the straps around the foot and the one around ankle can only be tightened so far before it's blocked by a seam and then the extra material is way too long! ugh so irritating! i love the arch support just wish chaco would accomodate small, narrow feet and hands and make it simpler to adjust

These sandals didn't fit my daughter properly. No matter how tight the straps were pulled, they were still falling off her ankle. They are going back.
