These are decent sandals, but the principal flaw is the strap in the back. It is not flexible in where you can place it. If you have smaller heels, they may not fit you very well.

Bought these sandals because they were stylish. Have only had them 3 1/2 months and worn them average of one time per week but they are falling apart already. Not well made.

I've worn these sandals for the past couple weeks; wanted to make sure I was satisfied (or not) with them before writing a review. I have an "unusual" foot size: 10.5 4E. Narrower than 4E (AKA XW) doesn't work for me, period. The Dunham Monterey Fisherman is one of the very few stylish, comfortable sandals made for my size. And Zappos is one of a few retailers I'm able to find that carry anything (other than sneakers) in my size. In short: I love 'em. They look good with slacks, they look good with blue jeans. They keep my feet reasonably cool in the Texas heat. And, most importantly, they're very comfortable. More generically: if you have extra-wide feet like mine, I'd encourage you to vote with your wallet. I can't find a local retailer with leather sandals (or dress shoes, for that matter) that fit me, so a 'net company - Zappos - has my full attention right now.

I have been searching for a sandal that is right for my hubby for two years, I kept settling for less. Zappos had just the shoe and free shipping, even returns are free, it took two tries. They are great. Good quality, good fit and fast, free shipping. They credited my account for the returned pair quickly and with no hassle. I am a forever customer.

I felt the Dunham sandal was comfortable and true, it offers sure footedness, not like most sandals, a joy on warm day,s.

This is my husband's second pair of Dunham Monterey Fisherman "mandels." We replaced the first pair after more than 4 years. He did not need to break them in. He wore them for long hours right out of the box, and they are so comfortable her can wear them for long walks. They are not his best looking shoes, but they worn and loved.

Found this to be a bit tight around the middle of the foot, though expect it will stretch some over time.

These sandals are exactly what I wanted. Comfortable and stylish. Good for walking or just hanging out!

Sandal was perfect. Needed 8 1/2 EE but Zappos only had 8 1/2 EEEE. Was hoping the latter would fit, but a little too wide. Will buy the next time when size is available

I ordered a 8.5 4E size for my husband and it was to big. The heal was slipping. So I re-order a 8 4E and it fits perfectly. Well made. A nice casual/dress sandal. My husband says they're very comfortable.

Bought for my husband in a 12 4E. He really likes them. They fit perfect. So far so good.

Returned because sole didn’t indicate New Balance technology. Ran unusually narrow maybe just that pair? Ordered the 2 E fit fine but questioned the quality. Otherwise very handsome shoe & looked comfortable.

After trying several pairs my husband said these were a winner. Very comfortable. No need to break them in. Well made. As usual Zappos is a great company. Only way I buy shoes!

I ordered my first pair of shoes from Zappos and they did not fit because I did not order them wide enough. I found another pair of the same type and got the wider version and my feet are loving them. Customer service was awesome and they did all they could to help me find the right shoe. Thank you, Zappos.

I purchased these sandals for my grandfather and he seems quite happy with them. They are easy to put on, which is a big plus for someone older, and do not fall off the foot. They are not leather inside, which would have been my preference, but they do feel soft on the inside and seem quite sturdy. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.

I have diabetes and need a special shoe/sandal that is wide and supportive. I tried 4 different sandals and this was the number 1 in every category.

Great sandal. Looks very nice and comfortable on my husband's foot. Very nice leather and quality. He is so happy to have a nice looking sandal that fits his wide feet!

These sandals seem well made and they are quite comfortable. I would not have thought that they are actually 4E in width. If you really need 4E, you might find them a little tight. But I'm happy with them, since I take 3E.

Overall very good but the main reason for my interest in a more dressy sandal was so that I could wear them to more social occasions while also keeping my feet cooler than regular shoes/sneakers. Unfortunately my feet feel about as cool in them as any standard shoe (without socks on). Furthermore, and maybe this is particular to me, my feet "fell asleep" or lost some sensation while wearing them for longer spells, especially at the beginning. Not a huge issue but just somewhat discomforting and annoying especially when driving. Otherwise I like them and definitely noticed how comfortable they felt right from go.

Bought these because of the stylish looks. Wore them for a while on cool days but the more I wore them ,the more I couldn't stand to wear them. The heel was too soft and made me walk with a leaning-backward type walk. More like a fancy flip flop. No support for my size 12 extra wide feet. I finally gave them away. Might give Aetrex brand a try next time.

The fit was accurate to the stated size. However, I returned these for two reasons. First, there was no discernable arch support. It felt more like a valley rather than an arch when you stood up. Without arch support, I feared that these sandals would become painful with just a bit of walking. Secondly, the design was nice, but the leather looked cheap, frankly. It is sad, because I liked the design of the sandals a lot.

Not too happy with these sandals. First, I preferred black in color, which was not an option. I had to return the first pair because they were way too small, I couldn't fit my foot not even part way. The other thing that bugs me is that the strap seems too short, but once you pull on it hard, the velcro holds fine. I wear them everyday to break them in and maybe they will be more comfortable. The price was a bit high for the comfort level, at least for my liking. Sorry.

Nice idea, having removable velcro soles. Unfortunately, as with pretty much every Dunham and New Balance order I've placed in the past few years, 4E no longer means what it used to; too narrow and I have to return yet again.

4E is supposed to be an extra wide width shoe size. The actual shoe that arrived was made for a very narrow foot, even though is stated 4E as the width.
