I tried so hard to get the right size in these shoes and to like them, but I wasn't really successful in either effort. The sizing is so far off that it's ridiculous, especially in comparison to other Frye oxfords (specifically the Paige, which is actually true to size). I normally wear a 9, and I tried three different sizes in the Wingtip before I gave up. They are very long, and I would recommend at least trying a full size down. On the other hand, these shoes are incredibly well made and very classy, but they also really look like men's shoes. I mean really. The Paige, even though it is just as well made, looks like a woman's shoe. I got the Wingtips in Smoke Brush Off, and it's a great color, sort of somewhere between black and brown and could go with either. They are also the way shoes used to be, in that they would need "breaking in," but if they fit you, I have no doubt that they would break in. At first they are stiff, and the sole is rigid, but don't let that stop you. They will conform to your feet and become comfortable soon. All in all, these shoes are outstanding in many ways, but they weren't for me.

I was really surprised by how tight these were across the top of the foot. They fit nicely in the toes (even a bit big), but long in the front for sure. I know they would loosen up nicely since they're Frye and excellent quality, but I'm sending them back because the style is just a touch too masculine. I ordered the brown bush off and it's not nearly as red as it looks on my computer screen. Beautiful shoe as usual for Frye, and Zappos is, as always, wonderful!

This is a man's shoe and it looks like a mans shoe. I love Frye but this looks like I stole my dad's shoes and not in a good way.

I loved the looks of this shoe, but it was too big and too wide. When I opened the box, I thought they had sent a Man's size 7 by mistake!

These are very beautiful shoes however, they run very narrow and long in the toe. I wear a size 7m but these shoes were to long and a bit snug so I ordered size 6.5 but they were way too tight. What a shame that I must return them.

These tend to run a half to whole size large, and as mentioned before, they do look long. Managed after returning one to get the right size and the craftsmanship and color (blue) are beautiful. Very hip looking and boy do they get noticed!

I got these in dusty rose and I absolutely love them! I was a little worried because I am a perfect 8 with a wide toe box and narrow heel, and of course, Zappos was out of the 8. But, they had the 7½ and 8½. I went with the 7½ based on reviews and because I have had to take the 7½ in Frye before, and luckily, these fit perfectly and were not even tight in front. So I would say that they run long and wide. The leather is stiff, but I think that is party just because the leather is so thick, which is good, and I think they will soften up with wear. They are a gorgeous color; I will use these as I would a neutral color, but with a little bit of a pop.

Beautiful shoes but do run a bit big as folks have mentioned. Super comfortable, broke in quickly, and have gotten so many compliments on these!

Fun pink shoes! I wear a 7.5 or 38. I tried both the 7 and 7.5 - the 7 fit best. The 7.5 were just to long. My feet are narrow and these fit well in that aspect also. I am wearing insoles for the arch support, as there is none. Nice quality built shoes.

As always Frye proved to be of great quality with this shoe. Unfortunately these were too tight across the top of my foot (I have a high arch). Normally wear a 6 but was hoping I could get by with the 5.5 because previous reviews stated that these run 1/2 size big and Zappos didn't have a 6 in stock. Too bad I have to return them because they are really cute and a true classic that I would wear forever.

These shoes are incredibly stylish, but they fit weird - very large toe and very long-looking. I am in between an 8 and 8.5, I got the 7.5, and they still didn't work. I love women's oxfords (especially in pink!), but unfortunately these have to go back.

First of all, these shoes are absolutely adorable. However, if your feet are even remotely wide, you may as well forget it. The leather is stiffer than a drink on ladies night. There is no give to the leather whatsoever. You definitely need to break these in awhile before they would be comfortable. The toe box is really tight and narrow. I have a high instep which made them extremely painful. Many people are giving these rave reviews, but they probably have Cinderella feet. Just keep in mind that if your feet are wide, you might be disappointed.

These shoes make your feet look huge! I wear a 7 1/2 and they looked like size 10 clown shoes on me. But that's not why I decided to return them. They also happen to be cut in a weird way. The opening of the shoe is cut too high and was striking against my ankles. It was so uncomfortable. My other Frye Oxford shoes (Maggie and others) and so much more comfortable.

These shoes were really cute and exactly what I wanted except they are artificially aged with a white effect on the leather. I did not see this in the photo. I will be returning them.

Beautiful shoe, I also have the James Wingip in the turqoise color. The tan had a little bit more of a vintage look than I anticipated but I love the shoe so much it doesn't matter. Comfortable, very well made and a classic. I am a 7.5 without fail and ordered a 7 based on reviews and they fit perfect.

I have been searching for that perfect Oxford for a couple of years and am thrilled with the Frye James. I ordered them in a turquoise blue and they are gorgeous. I had tried Fluevog, and other Frye oxfords and just could not get a comfortable fit until these. I am a 7 to 7½ in shoe size so after reading the reviews I ordered the 7½ and they fit me perfectly and I have medium width feet. They are very comfortable to walk in and great color! I absolutely love these shoes and will save up to buy another pair in a neutral color. They are extremely well made and worth every penny! These will be great for years to come. Thank you, Zappos!

I love these shoes! I disagree with reviews that recommend buying a size down. I have other Fryes that are 8's and 8.5's and I sometimes wear a 9 in other brands. I bought the 8.5's and they are very snug - no winter socks with these shoes! While they are a bit masculine, they're so unique and they are of the same very high quality you would expect of Frye and the price.

These shoes were exactly what I was looking for in a everyday shoe. They look great with jeans, and dress pants. I use them for work and stand on my feet for about 6 hours a shift. They are comfortable and give the support my feet need.

Amazing! I have been searching for the perfect oxford for the last year. Hello, OCD! These are gorgeous. The styling and detail is beautiful. I usually wear a 10 in Frye and ordered both the 9.5 and 10 just to feel the diff, and I think I'm gonna go with the 10s because I would like to be able to wear some very cool dress socks with them without my toes feeling constrained. Leather is super smooth, so there's no digging at the back of my heel when I walk. Also, I can fit my 3/4 Orthaheel insert in them. The only complaint I have is the slippery bottom.

Love these shoes. Stylish, very well-made, beautiful leather. Went a half size down (I typically wear an 8, but ordered the 7.5), and they were comfortable right outside of the box. I ended up ordering a two-tone color in this exact show off of the Frye website since Zappos didn't carry that particular color, but had they, I would have gladly ordered them here as well.

The picture does not do a good representation of how the shoe appears when you take it out of the box. I ordered tan and they looked like they had a layer of mold on them. I soon learned after taking them to a shoe repair shop to have them cleaned that this was the way the shoe was supposed to look. The "mold" was actually antique crackle. The shoes are great and look great with jeans!

Love this shoe! It is very well made and sturdy without giving up stylish looks. I did have to order 1/2 size bigger. They were comfortable from the first wearing. I am going to order in black.

These are just the best! They are a little stiff but I am sure they will soften up over time. I always wanted a pair of wingtips but made like they are for men...this is the first pair that I have seen in the U.S. (London has them) that is exactly that...they are authentic and fabulous!
