I really wanted to like these shoes, The color is beautiful, and they are pretty interesting. But the toe curve makes them look elf-like to me. Also, they were really long and narrow, and kind of gaped out around the side of my foot.

These shoes are beautiful (although the heals of the pair I received were a little uneven), but the sizing is weird. The 9.5 I ordered is way longer than my foot (I mostly wear 9.5, sometimes 10) making my feet look clownishly long. It's also a very narrow style so I didn't think I could go a size down without getting way too narrow. As it was, even with the very long shoe it felt uncomfortably snug on my wide-end-of-medium feet. With wearing, that may have changed, but nothing could help the peculiar longness. Back you go.

I love the look of these shoes. I usually wear an 8 but I also ordered the 7 1/2 . The 8 was too big. I've had them for a few months now and have not worn them very much because they hurt in the arch of my right foot. The left is fine! It seems like the right shoe is buckled at the arch. I guess I'll contact zappos first and then the manufacturer. I think the right shoe is defective. Ouch, I've been wearing them 3 hours today and right arch hurts so badly.

They are cute but the inserts came unglued right away. I thought about taking them to a shoe store and have them glued but they cost too much to have to do that.

Disappointed: I really really wanted these shoes in Iris color. How great would they be w/ jeans?! The color is beautiful! The shoe, not so much. 1st the toe is very long beyond my foot in my usual Frye size 9, the rest of the shoe fits great. It's like when pointy-toed shoes are elongated, but these aren't pointy. So they make my feet look WAY too big. Which is disappointing because one of the things I love about Frye is that they usually make my feet look smaller (Vera Short, Jenna Studded, Sabrina Lace-up, Lois Oxford). Not these. Also toe caps have reinforcement, that stops at a really bad place: it's obvious, you can see it, and I know from experience it'll give me blisters when my foot bends from walking. That kind of reinforcement is something I associate w/ cheap shoes, not Frye! Returning. So sad.

A word of caution regarding refund-ability of these shoes: I could not wait wear these when they arrived. For me with lousy feet, they surprisingly fit out of the box. But since my feet have a way of complaining within a short period of time, I was careful to wear them ONLY in my home so, if they should start to feel uncomfortable, I could send them back to Zappos for a refund. After wearing these cute oxfords for most of the first day indoors, I did check on the soles and was surprised (and disappointed) to see that the soles were not made of a solid color material. Instead, the soles looked like they just had a stain applied to them to give them a color because they certainly showed that they had been worn even though it was indoors. Our home is not completely carpeted; there is tile and hardwood floors as well as linoleum.AT this point, I could not have sent them back, even if I needed to. My word of caution: if you are "iffy" about how your feet will feel in these shoes, wear them ONLY ON CARPETED SURFACES until you know for sure that your feet can tolerate them. Other than this, they are cute shoes that, years ago, I would have disliked because they would have reminded me of "nun" shoes. Today with the funky/nerdy styles that are en vogue, these oxford heels are trendy. Yes, they were stiff to wear at first, but I feel confident that with more wearing, they will soon be my most comfortable pair. Others who advised to buy a half size smaller were right. I normally wear a 7.5, so I bought the 7 and it fit fine. Frye shoes are not cheap, but they are made in Mexico which might account for the cost-cutting use of stain on the soles not solid color leather. That was disappointing for me.

I've had these shoes for three months. They look great, and people are always asking me about them. I loved them so much I also bought a black pair.
But for the money, and from the raves about the brand, and from the reviews I read on here, I expected to be comfortable walking a little ways in these shoes.
Well, it's fine if you're strolling a few blocks from the restaurant to the theater or something, but if you walk any further or faster, you're going to have bruised feet. I tried to wear these to work. My commute involves half a mile of walking at each end of a train ride. My feet were so beat up I could barely stand shoes for a week. Now I keep them in my office and wear them indoors only.
Also, the heel covering comes off. I have three pairs of Frye shoes, and the heel is sort of wrapped in leather strips, which apparently are delicate and poorly glued.
All in all, I consider these shoes a poor investment.

This is the second pair of this shoe that I have purchased. My first, purchased about a year ago, were in black and I have gotten so much use out of them. Comfortable right out of the box, my custom orthotics fit in them perfectly, gorgeous leather and workmanship, great style, on and on. Having said that, I recently purchased this shoe in the Smoke color. It was hard to discern exactly what this color was on my screen but it's kind of a dull greeny-brown. That's fine -- I have stuff that matches. However, this new pair, as compared to those I bought a year ago, are very different in certain ways. For one thing, the right shoe squeaks really badly if I wear my orthotics, embarrassingly so. Also, I did not notice this at first but there are two or three dark stains of some kind which I did not notice until I got the shoes outside in the daylight (and on my feet, unfortunately). My other shoes have been in rain and were never showed a single drop. These, I got caught in the rain going to my car and the rain has made water stains on the leather. Naturally, these are on the toe -- very prominent. I don't blame Zappos for this, but feel that somehow Frye let the quality slip on this batch or something.

Don't like the extra-long toe box at all--makes my foot look masculine when I want it to look cute. Returning.

These shoes are long - I went down a half size as suggested by others and I find the toe box still too long. Lovely shoes, well made, nice leather - sadly they are going back.

Zappos has the fastest service I have ever seen, but unfortunately they sent 2 different sizes of the shoe! One of them was my size, so I tried my orthotic insert and couldn\'t get my foot in with it. I had read another review which said that she was able to use her orthotic, so it must have been a tiny one. But the lovely thing I can send it back for free!

The eggplant color is versatile. The shoe looks great with trousers. The leather is stiff, and I am still in the process of breaking them in. The sole of the shoe is smooth, therefore, the shoes can be slippery. They are not the most comfortable shoe ever, but they are okay. I am still not sure if I am going to keep them.
